What exactly are they investigating again?
Why the Lion killed the man ,or who sent it to kill the man?

"Investigations" done suffer for Nigerians hand.

Rest in peace to the man and measures should be taking to prevent reoccurrence.
They have to investigate and create awareness to avoid future occurrence, investigation will tell you if they have not been feeding the lion or if there are some safety measures that wasn't taken into consideration by the deceased, or if the cage is weak that made the lion to pull up and attack.
Investigation is good but how meticulous, accurate, thorough and efficient utilisation of the outcome is where my problem lies.
How can they prevent reoccurrence if they did not investigate the cause of the occurrence?

Saying Tinubu knew what he was going to meet in government is ridiculous.

So, Tinubu knew Nigeria had only $3.7billion in its foreign reserve, not the $37 billion that the Buhari government led the country to believe.

Did Tinubu know that Emefiele, Buhari's assistant Tunde, and the Aso Rock gang stole billions of dollars and trillions of Naira?

Did Tinubu know that the Buhari government has sold most of the country's future oil production, collected the dollars and spent/stole it all?

Did Tinubu know that the past government was effectively handing over a virtually bankrupt country to him.

Why should Tinubu not blame the past government.

Moment of respite .

Just hope this translates to reality on ground and not one of their several failed promises.

If the cement manufacturers can agree to such a deal, it won't be out of place to ask why they allowed the price of cement to spiral out of control in the first place without any justifiable reason?
Let's hope so, @bolded shows how prices are being manipulated in this country!!

Properties / FG And Cement Producers Agree To Set Cement Prices At ₦‎7,000 To ₦‎8,000 by ogaontop(m): 8:45pm On Feb 19
The Federal Government, together with cement manufacturers such as BUA, Dangote and Larfarge, has set the price range for a 50kg bag of cement at N7,000 to N8,000 across various locations in the country.

This price adjustment was announced by Senator David Umahi following an extended discussion with key players in the cement industry held in Abuja on Monday.

Despite the agreed price reduction, manufacturers emphasized that the decrease from the current market rates is contingent upon the government’s commitment to address significant challenges within the sector.

The initiative, spearheaded by President Bola Tinubu, aims to tackle the surge in cement prices, which Senator Umahi described as excessive and counterproductive to the economic growth ambitions of the government.

Factors responsible for the hike in cement prices
In his remarks, the minister highlighted several factors contributing to the inflated costs, including smuggling, poor road conditions, elevated energy expenses, and the foreign exchange dilemma.
He, however, noted the manufacturers’ willingness to reduce prices provided these issues are effectively addressed by government interventions.

He stated, “Ideally, they noted that cement price and retail price to a consumer should not cost more than between N7,000 and N8,000 per 50 kg bag of cement.
“Therefore, the government and the cement manufacturers, which is Dangote Plc, BUA Plc and Lafarge Plc, have agreed to peg their cement price nationwide between N7,000 and N8,000 per 50 kg bag of cement, depending on the location.

“Which means that this price depends on the location. Going forward, the government advised manufacturers to set up a price monitoring mechanism to ensure compliance with the prices that are set today.”

What you should know

In the past few weeks, the price of a 50kg bag of cement increased to an all-time high of over N9,500 across different cities in the country. The cause of the spike has been attributed to increase in energy cost and other operational expenses.

A market survey by Nairametrics last week revealed that the price of cement in many retail outlets across Lagos has increased to N9,500 and for some brands, at N10,000. Multiple reports in the media noted that the price of the commodity had surged to between N12,000 N15000 in Abuja and other cities in the country. This necessitated the meeting between the works minister and the cement producers.

The Minister of works, Sen. Dave Umahi had earlier stated his intention to build roads across the country with concrete rather than the traditional asphalt.

Business / Nigeria’s Inflation Hits 29.9% In January 2024 by ogaontop(m): 1:05pm On Feb 15
Nigeria’s inflation rate for January 2024 rose to 29.90% from 28.92% recorded in the previous month according to the latest National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) inflation report.

The increase shows that the inflation rate in the country is yet to slow down.

The NBS report notes:

“In January 2024, the headline inflation rate increased to 29.90% relative to the December 2023 headline inflation rate which was 28.92%. Looking at the movement, the January 2024 headline inflation rate showed an increase of 0.98% points when compared to the December 2023 headline inflation rate. Similarly, on a year-on-year basis, the headline inflation rate was 8.08% points higher compared to the rate recorded in January 2023, which was 21.82%.”

“This shows that the headline inflation rate (year-on-year basis) increased in January 2024 when compared to the same month in the preceding year (i.e., January 2023). Furthermore, on a month-on-month basis, the headline inflation rate in January 2024 was 2.64%, which was 0.35% higher than the rate recorded in December 2023 (2.29%).
“This means that in January 2024, the rate of increase in the average price level is more than the rate of increase in the average price level in December 2023.”

For those blaming APC and president Tinubu for the hardship in the country, are you all aware that UK and Japan are currently in economic recession? Is it APC and Tinubu that is ruling both nations? Nobody should blame APC and Tinubu for the rot the PDP government of Jonathan caused. What we are suffering today is the result of the Jonathan government's recklessness. Peter Obi and his PDP gang brought Nigeria to her knees. May God help our dear president Tinubu to fix the country like he did in Lagos.

Statistically (but no be statistics we go chop), the countries that took away subsidy did it in phases, within a 5 to 10-year plan and today they are totally off subsidy without any untold hardship on the citizens
There are so many ways to do this better which I can't even start listing here.
When you say what Tinubu did is the best way, you're exposing your ignorance to the right-thinking people!!

Have you taken your time to look at @PO's full explanatory manifesto(anyway I doubt if you have access) on his plans toward fuel subsidy and compare it with how some other countries successfully took away subsidies without all this backlash?
If time reverses, Tinubu will handle this better, but it's an infraction he has no clue how to handle from the onset!!
