His choice! Nigerians should be wise in following these men of God, with great sense of discernment!! That's how the rich Muslims don't care about Sharia and Hisbah in their personal doings. |
kachistone:You're very correct, older ones will know it because they used it during their school days. |
Hedonisco:Ambassadors role is not only about being smart or a technocrat; you also need to know the inherent politics, such as that of your state, home country and the country you are posted to. If you can't accurately recount the politics of your home country and state; what the assurance of the politics of the country and probably some states in the country you are posted to? |

Travel involves taking into consideration a lot of things, one being the safety aspect. It’s always better to assess before-hand, rather than facing issues later on. In this context, understanding global crime trends might help one to make informed decisions for sure. This index involves looking at multiple indicators rather than a single number. Crime Index and Safety Index scores, are compiled semi-annually by statistics platform Numbeo, with range from 0 to 100, where lower Crime Index scores and higher Safety Index scores are preferable. Another major tool is the Global Organised Crime Index (GOCI), which uses data across three subcategories: Criminal Markets, Criminal Actors, and Resilience. These include everything from financial and cyber crimes to trafficking networks and the strength of a country’s judiciary and policing systems 1. Haiti - 81.0 An estimated 150–200 gangs control 60–100% of Port-au-Prince due to political unrest. Haiti recorded 2,490 kidnappings and 4,789 homicides in 2023, almost twice as many as the year before. The nation has become a key hub for the trafficking of cocaine and cannabis due to lax border security and lax enforcement. 2. Papua New Guinea - 80.7 With a Crime Index of 80.7, Papua New Guinea records high levels of both petty and violent crime. Swift social and economic shifts have intensified gang activity, especially among youth groups facing limited employment options. Widespread corruption, combined with the country’s strategic geographic position, has further enabled the growth of drug and human-trafficking networks. 3. Venezuela - 80.5 With a Crime Index of 80.5, Venezuela is at the top of the list. Travellers are cautioned not to enter the nation by a Level 4 advice issued by the US Department of State. State corruption, a weakened judiciary, and the deterioration of the Rule of Law are all linked to high crime rates. Armed robberies, kidnappings, and violent crime are still common 4. Afghanistan - 75.2 Afghanistan has been facing persistent challenges such as corruption, assassinations, drug trafficking, kidnapping, and money laundering. As per the record, the country supplied 85% of the world’s illicit opium in 2020. Despite the Taliban’s pledge to curb the industry, it remains tied closely to Afghanistan’s fragile economy. High unemployment is also one of the reasons for driving crimes like robbery and assault. 5. South Africa - 74.6 With high rates of assault, homicide, and sexual violence, South Africa is ranked fifth in the world. These numbers are a result of pervasive inequality, unemployment, and the normalisation of violence. 6. Honduras - 71.9 Honduras, with a Crime Index of 71.9, has long battled gang violence from various groups. The country also serves as a major transit route for drugs, whereas weak law enforcement systems have prompted travel advisory from the US State Department. 7. Trinidad and Tobago - 71.0 This Caribbean nation reports a Crime Index of 71.0. Gang influence, drug trafficking, bureaucratic hurdles, and economic pressures challenge crime-reduction efforts. Visitors commonly face risks such as pickpocketing, assault, and fraud. The country also has a Level 3 travel advisory. 8. Syria - 68.4 Syria’s long civil war has intensified organized crime, especially the production and trafficking of Captagon, a lucrative amphetamine. Human trafficking, arms smuggling, extortion, and counterfeit goods flow across its porous borders. Militia-controlled regions operate complex criminal networks. 9. Jamaica - 67.4 Jamaica ranked tenth in 2020 among countries with the highest crime rates. The nation continues to struggle with government corruption, gang violence, and elevated levels of violent crime, including sexual assault. According to the US Overseas Security Advisory Council, the Jamaican police force is understaffed and under-resourced. Travelers are strongly advised to avoid Spanish Town and certain areas of Kingston and Montego Bay. 10. Peru - 66.7 Peru is among the world’s largest cocaine producers. Organized crime thrives in coca-growing regions such as the VRAEM, where drug-trafficking groups operate heavily. Urban areas, including Lima, which recorded more than 700 homicides in 2022, also face violence linked to various gangs. https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/life-style/travel/destinations/crime-rate-by-country-2025-10-countries-with-the-highest-crime-index/photostory/125789786.cms

Cristiano Ronaldo is set to avoid a ban for the start of Portugal's World Cup campaign despite his red card against the Republic of Ireland. Cristiano Ronaldo was sent off for Portugal in the loss to the Republic of Ireland in November; the Portugal captain has been given a three-match ban but two of those games are suspended for one year; Ronaldo will play at the start of Portugal's World Cup so long as he does not reoffend. A FIFA disciplinary committee has imposed a three-match ban, but the final two games are suspended for one year provided there is no similar infringement during the probation period. Ronaldo was shown a red card after appearing to swing an elbow at Ireland defender Dara O'Shea during a World Cup qualifier earlier this month. He has already served the one-match suspension, in Portugal's final qualifier against Armenia. Should Ronaldo commit another offence of a similar nature, the two matches will be automatically activated for the next official matches for the Portugal national team, which are set to be the opening two World Cup group games.A FIFA statement said: "In line with article 27 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code, the serving of the two remaining matches has been suspended under a one-year probation period. "If Cristiano Ronaldo commits another infringement of a similar nature and gravity during the probationary period, the suspension set out in the disciplinary decision shall be deemed automatically revoked and the remaining two matches must be served immediately at the next official match(es) of the Portuguese representative team. This is without prejudice to any additional sanctions imposed for the new infringement. The three-match suspension is subject to appeal to the FIFA Appeal Committee." The decision comes days after Ronaldo attended a black tie dinner at the White House alongside US President Donald Trump, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and FIFA president Gianni Infantino. Under normal circumstances, Ronaldo should be suspended for Portugal's first two World Cup games, but there is nothing normal about the Portugal superstar. Ronaldo's legion of fans will say it is only right that their hero is being treated differently from everyone else. After all, his red card was the first time he had been sent off in 226 internationals. Others will say rules are rules. Serious foul play should mean a two-match ban and violent conduct means a three-match ban. What is undeniable is that this unprecedented decision suits Ronaldo and FIFA. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/13475321/cristiano-ronaldo-portugal-captain-avoids-ban-for-start-of-nations-2026-world-cup-campaign

barnny:You sure know the meaning of PROSECUTION? |
simpleseyi:Wiser than the wisest human and Nigeria is like this? Amazement!! One day you people will tell us how he's wiser than God! Leave matter, politicking is not wisdom!! |
It's everywhere, just depends on the individuals involved! Where ever a goat and yam is being kept together no matter the settings or office, there will surely be an attempt. Is it Banks, Hospitals, Schools, Hotel establishments, Universities, School teachers, sales girls, maids at home, drivers, PA's, even in the forces viz: Army, police, custom, e.t.c. It all depends on the settings and levels of control, discipline, and tolerance. |
Politicians as a whole are too hypocritical but Tinubu's own is on another level! Man speaks with no touch of reality, since the time of Buhari, we have had those comfortable with just calling them President, after life's long hassle, their retirement dream is to be the president of Nigeria. GEJ was the last president that cared but he was booted out on the alter of lies and propaganda by Tinubu and his cohorts, now is their turn they became clueless!! E no go better for this people!! |
I just confirmed Reno Omokri is a political jobber with the post above |
Kobojunkie:From the law you quoted, what "proven" assurances or agreements can she provide that will show the gift is unconditional? Legal battles are not straightforward as you see written on paper. A good lawyer will claim conditions of "as far we are dating", the gift is yours. When it's not written down anywhere, he may not prove it, and she can't prove otherwise, so what happens? Exercise in futility! If she even cheated in the course of the relationship and if the guy proves it as a fact, another legal technicality will come in. |
Kobojunkie:Which legal implications? when many guys deliberately buy those things in their name and reserve the receipt. What evidence have you that it rightly belongs to you? Even the car people have seen you driving everyday, if a legal case happens and you can't prove ownership, it will be taken away from you. Nigerian law is still at the level of providing strong evidences, words of mouth (except recorded and verified) or assumptions may not win you a case here!! From the law you quoted, what "proven" assurances or agreements can she provide that will show the gift is unconditional ![]() |
Is this actually necessary to tell the public? |
Orinechi:Understood what you said, but do this government actually keep rules that doesn't favour them? |
mascot87:What is rule of law? Why not go to court serve him eviction notice or something? So the right channel is coming to that land to confront the young soldier, order him out and demolish the place?? Height of impunity!! When he reported to higher authorities, and they asked him to wait, what is then pushing him?? His disgrace ![]() |
pocohantas:Like Annie Idibia doesn't have her own issues? If you wanna sound like the Op then you have no business criticising him because both of you are in the same ship: brothers for brothers, sisters for sisters, no objectivity! Both Men and women are deep partakers in the cheating game. If you chose to tolerate fine, if you chose to walk away fine; just know what's at stake; whether man or woman! |
And your principal has every sense of dignity? With the way he insults everybody at will, removing a sitting governor with state of emergency, and, such won't happen to him if he was in Fubara's shoes. Criticising every diverse opinion, and won't accept any form of criticism. Karma is beginning to retaliate him because he had done similar worst things than the soldier when he was the governor! |
Many Nigerian rich men and politicians left the chat!! |
She couldn't have done it in the first place but she realised her errors before it became too late. This should be a warning to all those aspiring for BBL! She's better off, and more beautiful Pre-BBL than now!! |
How do people reason these days? You couldn't have been born if your parents reasoned this way! |
His wish is being fulfilled and yet they're crying, no be hypocrisy be this?? |
I know that many will comment here without knowing the genesis of the case! |
Kemetian:And you think diplomatic relations is fact-checking on the pages of newspapers or social media? Nigeria, currently has no levels to carry animosity to any western nation, you will make matters worst!! Wetin dem wan carry rate us again? Our leaders, citizens or resources ![]() Or do you even think ambassadors keep meeting presidents just like in Nigeria? NB: US Presidents doesn't meet ambassadors, no time for that. If he has issue with Nigeria, he invites the president, if you're strong, he schedules a meeting with you at a neutral place just like he did Putin and Chinese president. Diplomatic relations are not rants!! |
Ttalk:Man is a chronic liar and a manipulator, why won't a sane person be very careful in dealing with him? Politics and nepotism apart, you will be unwise if you refuse to open your 2 eyes widely in dealing with people like Reno. Tinubu as a wise politician might try to reward Reno with one or two appointments, but not ones that will bring him (Reno) closer to him (Tinubu); "Long-spoon" appointment!!. Tomorrow, if Tinubu ceases to be the president, he switches allegiance and start attacking Tinubu with things he found out while working with him. Which politician will bring him so close with that kind of attitude ![]() |
Chai, the naira has suffered. Omoh una dey waka sha, anyways Are you going there as a machinery or for business? Those roads are full of dangers from bandits and Islamic militants and extremists. You have to be very careful |
Foolishness is when you tear your green card because Trump won first term, travels to America with the rigours of B1/B2, and tries reapplying again after he won second term. A reasonable human being cannot tear his green card because a certain candidate won, if you intentionally did, why reapplying again ![]() You could have forgotten about America! Since when I was young, I have so much respected this Prof., but he acts irrationally, chameleonically, a behaviour not worthy of a noble laureate!! God bless America! IN GOD WE TRUST!! |
You never stated your full names, portfolio or who you are? |
