Someone like Sowore can make these kinds of statements and get away with it because he has not had the opportunity to show his capacity. He can make all sorts of crap promises, but not this Agulu failure. He had for 8 years and was a failure.

It is because of the aforementioned reasons that our rates on government bonds, treasury bills, e.t.c are way higher than those of the OECD countries, to make them attractive to investors; so CGT & CIT should also be made attractive to investors.

We are quick to emulate (from western countries) collection of the money, but not what the collected money is being used for!

What is fraudulent about it? It is a known fact that human beings hate change, people like yourself who love the status quo, & add no benefit to society, speaking with both sides of your mouth making up excuses because u do not want to live up to your statutory obligation of paying your taxes.

Inasmuch as here is a public forum where people reason brainlessly, if you've taken some patience to follow up on this Tax man right from day one, you will notice lots of confusions and controversies, all exactly from his mouth. He gives different interpretations to same things at different interview times; he's more or less confused.
Paying tax is not the issue but the interpretations to the law is not simplified. This has been the problem of most of the laws being made in this country; courts will keep on interpreting on their discretion. The countries we look up to, why not see how straightforward and streamlined their tax system is?

I believe tax is an obligation

Tax is an obligation indeed, and no sane mind should go against tax, but the level of clarity in the new tax law is poor, many points were shrouded in unclear personal interpretations. Also, accountability in previously paid taxes is making Nigerians think they're wasting money by paying tax. What do we have to show for all the income generated in this country? Whether via taxes, borrowing, sales of crude or other earnings??

Inasmuch as the new tax laws and reforms may not be bad, we need more of economic prosperity, increase our earnings and our purchasing power, give naira more value, support local industries, make good stable policies that will attract investors and create jobs, provide good sustainable basic amenities; then come up with all these tax laws and reforms. You don't tax our poverty, you tax our riches!

Let's see the policy the new appointees will come up with, as for Farouk and co, their sabotage is treasonable!

A person with a good logical/analytical skill is very intelligent, they are measuring intelligent quotient (IQ), not emotional intelligence, wisdom, or otherwise!

No state or border in Nigeria has lesser corruption than others, and don't wait till you're fully ready before you start that life changing event or job.
Learn on the job or business; there are jobs, businesses or even life events that you cannot be fully prepared (no matter how long you prepare) till you experience them!

Lagos will be a better, less decongested city if this is done but the Lagos politicians are scared of the economic implications, while ordinary Lagosians thought it will reduce the hype, but with adequate planning and execution, the city will outgrow those fears!
