Paramount01:

Is part of their work, let them do anything to bring sanity to this country
Spraying of money should be the work of the police because section 21 of the CBN act that criminalised naira mutilation did not mention EFCC!

Even if EFCC wants to act, can you leave your wife inside a burning house to look for your bag because both are your properties?
They should have more pressing things to do to minimize corruption, money laundering and better the Nigerian economy please.
Go ask them the minimum budget for prosecuting a person no matter the offence, then you will know why they should make better use of that budget in this fragile economy!!

You're an illiterate, an economy that is battling with forex shortages, inflation, must control importation and that's what CBN is doing.
Illiterate theoretical economist, you're controlling importation with which substitutes?
Do you know how many that has died because they can no longer afford drugs I think you need to go start from your SS3 economics and stop sounding professional while you're misleading people!
CBN has repeatedly implemented what I wrote up there!!

PressMyButton:

You're a joke, a very big joke. You guys just sit behind your phone spewing trash. Would you rather we encourage excessive importation at the detriment of the naira?, knowing the much lower the custom rate, the more pressure on the dollar. At this point, we can't afford too low custom rate while stabilizing the naira, else it will be counter-productive.
You've come again with your upside-down economics, when it was at the peaks, what and what did we produce and export?
See, till today, there is no substitution for those things we import! More production companies are even closing up due to high costs and unfavourable policies.
Finally, bookmark this, before ending May, the custom duty will go below N1,000.
You did prove you're more economist than the CBN governor and the economic team!
The increase in the duty is more of revenue generation. Customs has generated about 1.5 trillion in the first quarter of the year!! More than 10% of the budget is being funded by the Customs.

Juve were winning the Seria A back to back until he came along.

ManU were doing great until he came along.

Al Nassar was winning the league until he came along.

Dude is a great footballer but his personal ambition destroys team cohesion
You should rather ask where were these teams in terms of performance the season Ronaldo came in, what he achieved with them and where were the teams when he left. You don't bring old glories and pin bad team performance on the young man!
E.g. when did Ronaldo join Al Nassr and when was the last time they won the SPL? What was their league position when he joined and now??

The Nigerian reporter of the article should also explain why there is a convergence between the parallel and official markets.

Ps

It was written by a Nigerian for Bloomberg Africa. There are two of them that usually write for Bloomberg Africa. Anthony Osae and Emele Onu. Onu is a Peter Obi supporter. I can't say for Osae.
Our duty as good citizens is to verify these claims and not all these politics of who wrote and who he supports, if they are right, the govt should re-strategize, if they are wrong the govt should provide us accurate figures to debunk whatever Bloomberg assumed!
This is how we kept on dancing around political and tribal lines till things became so bad in Buhari's era. A "burnt child dreads the fire" except he's crazy!!
We citizens have a very long way to go if we want this country to become better!!!

I have heard alot about Wike. All I want to hear now is Fubara's performance in governance.
My friend think with your brain and stop being sentimental!
You heard about Wike of 8 years and comparatively waiting to hear about Fubara of 11 months with all the headaches from Wike and his cohorts in the State House of Assembly!
Are you being fair
How did your Wike treat those that brought him to the limelight?
If Wike is in Fubara's shoes, he will do the worst!!
On a very serious note, get Wike's first 11 months of performance with no struggles and get Fubara's 11 months with all the struggles, the result will amaze you!!
You guys should be very objective with these our leaders devoid of political or ethnic affiliations, if not they will continue to play ludo with our heads!!!

Family / Re: Married Nigerian Ladies No Longer Take Shit From Their Husbands (Pictures) by ogaontop(m): 10:00pm On Apr 10
wagzyl:
Sincerely, this warped mentality (my man cheats, I must cheat too. what a man can do, a woman can do better) is the reason why our society especially Southern Nigeria continues to deteriorate massively in the name of being 'educated', 'woke', 'not taking nonsense'. Whether you like it or not, both genders are wired differently. The success of any marriage depends a lot on the maturity of the man and the patience of the woman. I'm not excusing men but this mentality has one and only one outcome, DESTRUCTION of the marriage. The white folks who brought/facilitated this warped mentality have already run down their own societies. They raise feminine men, high rates of divorce, and many more men shying away from marrying altogether. Their women hoe around in their twenties and are left with regrets in their forties, with many taking solace in their cats, dogs and other pets. Their society cannot sustain its own population and their politicians are facilitating immigration at insane levels. Those who fail to learn from the mistakes of others would definitely experience the same cycle of failure. A divorced woman is a money-spinning venture (you can research more into their spending habits and the effect of divorce on the black communities in Baltimore, Chicago, etc.) and the children suffer the most.

What more? You divorce your husband for 'cheating' and end up as a side piece to another man in a relationship, most times married. The joke remains on the woman! Those who praise a woman for leaving a loving man whose only downside is cheating (no diseases, no violence and taking great care of his wife and children) are the same people who would quickly fill up her space. These women won't tell you but the truth is that it is only after about four to five relationships after their marriage, that they realize the enormity of the bad decisions that they've made but it's too late. They would then keep posting pictures online, seeking validation from random people to make it seem as though they were happy. If you disagree, it's fine but Jeff Bezos's ex-wife divorced him, remarried one everyday guy (a music or French teacher or so) and guess what? She divorced him again after 2 years. Is she married again now? Oh, you don't need to be married to be happy? Lol.. keep deceiving yourselves. The joke is on you!
All your points are well articulated and not far from the truth!!

Everything you saying is based on "Ifs". The fact is that Onyema needed qualified pilots and they were employed based on merit as businesses of other tribes do employ Igbos too.
The first person you quoted ignited my response to you.
He can as well find qualified pilots elsewhere to run his business just as Tinubu can also find qualified people apart from majority of Yorubas to run the country!
NB: He's even at more liberty to do so than Tinubu due to Federal Character!

Onyema needs them more than they need him. If Onyema could fly the planes by himself, he wouldn't have employed them.
If not the Abiola captain, the airline won't fly?
If he dies today (God Forbid), the airline will pack up and close business
Or maybe he can't employ other pilots from other tribes of the world like other airlines?
NB: Right from time, Allen Onyema is a very detribalised Nigerian. The day he releases the list of those he trains in different Nigerian universities and other good deeds, you will marvel at the most beneficiaries!!

SmartPolician:

This is how people fail exams, turn around and blame their lecturers. Answer a simple question and you are here telling a needless story.

To answer the question, I don't think the United States should be used as a benchmark because that country is very rich and we don't operate a dollar economy here. People can afford to pay that in the US, but we cannot.

Come to think of it, we don't import the raw materials we use to generate power. We have gas reserves in Nigeria and hydrothermal energy comes from dams.

How do Ivory Coast and Ghana enjoy steady power? Do they pay up to that? If they don't, we don't have any reason to. ECOWAS subregional countries share so much in common. What works for A should work for B. Those countries should be our yardstick, not almighty America!
The government is always more interested in increasing tariffs up and down, they should go first and study how Ghana and Ivory Coast generate steady power before pegging prices
Check below and compare how much Nigeria pays, and the two countries boast of steady light
1. Ghana
2. Ivory Coast
Bro forget this country, no remedy
