Make them fish out the identity of Kidnappers and terrorists that make phone calls with registered sims first, not to talk of sms that can easily be bypassed by technology

Why are people still able to threaten others anonymously with phone despite SIM registration using NIN? Why are terrorists still operating lines but not possible to be identified with the lines? What is the use of National Identity Number being linked to phone details?
Text messages can be sent even without using a sim card from any country of choice using VPN, though western technologies can track it (not even in all occasions), now imagine Nigeria

Business / Re: Naira Begins Recovery After Float, Closes At ₦‎664/$ At I&E Window by ogaontop(m): 11:25am On Jun 15, 2023
grandstar:

The purpose of selling dollars to the BDC is to crash the rate there and bring it close to the bank rate, which would end round tripping.

If it's crashed, there will be little room for roundtripping.

The problem during Buhari's term in office was that he, Buhari himself dictated the exchange rates and not the CBN and Emefiele enabled him.

For instance, in 2021 when the official rate was 410 and black market rate was 480 or so, the BDCs were making huge profits.

If the CBN had floated the Naira then at the official rate, many speculated the official rate would have slid to around 460, reducing huge arbitrage profits for the BDC.

But rather than devalue, the CBN preferred to ban the sale of dollars to the BDCs and requested anyone who wanted dollars to approach the banks. This was a collosal mistake as the process of obtaining dollars from banks is bureaucratic while from the BDCs was instant. This led to a quick crash of the Naira at the black market as it was starved of forex.
You sabi wetin you dey talk bro!

You're right bro, He shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence with the word ", Saint"!
But their removal is also good for our system because they are brazenly corrupt.
These guys he's dealing with now, has in one way or another offended him.

Business / Re: CBN Floats Naira - Allows Banks To Trade FOREX Freely At Any Rate by ogaontop(m): 6:46pm On Jun 14, 2023
VeeVeeMyLuv:

That means You are saying it cannot be unified
Sure it can be unified but the price will float, -depending on the powers of demand and supply, when they hoard it, supply will reduce and demand will increase, thereby pushing the price up.
But the government can achieve the feat by decentralizing the supply more and monitoring how they sell it.

Hope people can now see what is meant by purposeful and deliberate leadership

With this policy, more foreign exchange inflow will come in. Naira may depreciate in the short run but it will appreciate in the long run
It appreciates in the long run only when you have enough supply directly to those who need it, not the one BDC's and Banks will hoard and give to the highest bidder or whom they like!
Forget this country bro, they will hoard it to the fullest, push up the price entirely and sell!

Even GEJ did such when he partially removed subsidy!

Nothing less than N400 with current market conditions. However, market conditions may push the price upwards or downwards anytime. The point of removing subsidy is not to fix price but to allow market conditions dictate the price.
So why should NNPC fix the price knowing fully well that others follow their template

Education / Re: FG v ASUU: Members who joined the strike Not Entitled To Salaries, Court Rules by ogaontop(m): 6:28pm On May 30, 2023
MasterTeeUSA:
Great News...I hate strike. My sister is part of ASUU, and I still think it was dumb to go on strike. Teachers just got new contract here after 3 yrs of no contract. We dare not strike. In a sane country, education is so critical, you go through the channels and courts if needed, but strike is off the table.

Where would parents keep the kids in primary and secondary schools here? How will it affect their jobs and so on? Higher Education should just be privatized or Semi-Private. Govt has no business in higher education as it is the norm in most normal nations even the Arab Nations where they have money to spend and waste. We call them Public Charter...you hire on merit, fire on merit, promote on merit and pay on merit. Clearly ASUU is not working for Nigeria and Nigerians. I am pro-Union, but they do way way too much to destroy the country. Go on 1-day strike or 1-week max to prove your point, but no more.

Strike is bad but other avenues in Nigeria including the courts have become too politicised!
In the court, ASUU tendered 4 consecutive letters written to the govt reminding them of the signed agreement they failed to keep without any explanation, even the govt did not reply those letters let alone given reasons why ASUU should soft-pedal, only media showcasing! The court ruled against ASUU in that aspect, though they agreed that ASUU be paid through any means they want, must not be IPPIS, one of the main reasons they went for strike!
The situation is not suitable for both ASUU and FG. The inclinations in UTAS will cover for the 8 months in less than a year and the gains continue....., a situation the government won't want. It will all end in a CBA (Collective Bargain Agreement).

IfnobeGod20:

One thing about some of you is you support what ought not to be supported, I don't know, whether because of ignorance or self deceit or blind support. Should inadequacy of government be heap on the masses always? Government always throw their burden on the masses on the premise of being clever just by half. Even the blind and deaf knows that the amount of fuel claimed to be consuming daily by Nigerians is false, which they collect subsidy on. Please what stops the government monitoring that one first and punishing those riping the country wealth? No way we would not go from fry pan into fire because the corruption is so endemic that if not checked, we may later buy fuel at #1,000 per liter and you know what that means, ripple effect. Prices of goods and services will skyrocket and inflation will be all time high.
Secondly, why is it so difficult to fix our refineries for years? Government yearly play lip service to revamping of the refineries and shift their burden to the downtrodden for no reason. If the countries they are taking our crude oil to don't make their refineries work, would they take product to go and refine there? There's need for government to do first thing first than dancing around their failures. We need to tell ourselves the gospel truth, the economy is not smiling at all. People are carrying enough burden, that to eat is a serious thing, now a government just inaugurated inflict another round on the already saturated poverty. Let us see what will happen in the next few days.
I am surprise that people are giving backing to this kind of thing without recourse to the impulse of the downtrodden and how they would survive. Make the refineries work and the issue of subsidy will automatically fizzle out. This is just the common sense. They should strive to make all our refineries work and also encourage modular refineries to be licensed for proper monitoring to ease the burden of crude oil refine. This is not rocket science. Eje ka fo te si le, ka ye pa lapa lapa. No shortcuts to truth in the journey to freedom of the masses.
You spoke wisdom bro, forget these senseless sycophants.
Many might not even read and understand properly, the points you are making above!
This is not a question of political affiliation or lip service, this is masses vs the government!!
