We Urhobos don't force people to be part of us. We have since given the Isokos their freedom from the Urhobo nation even though there is no difference between the Isokos and the Urhobos culturally. The Isoko and Urhobo language are 99.9 percent the same. We have the same customs, we eat the same food, bear the same name, the same dressing but the Isokos said they don't want to be part of the Urhobo nation and we have given them freedom. We don't force people to be part of us sir unlike what the Igbos are doing to the Ikwerres. For your information, Urhobo and Isoko are much more similar than Igbos and Ikwerres but the Urhobos are not saying the Isokos are Urhobos and we have since put it in our minds that they are Isokos and not Urhobos.

Don't be a fool. There are three senatorial districts n Delta. Delta Central is purely for Urhobos, Delta North for the Igbo groups and Delta South for Ijaw (majority), Isoko, Itsekiri and Urhobo.

The Deputy Senate President is from Delta Central.

The population of Urhobos in Delta Central alone is 1.5m+ which is higher than the whole of Igbo groups in Delta North. If we are to include the Urhobos in Delta South, then .....

Agreed To Join Ijaw, Itsekiri To Shutdown Operations of IOCs

Ughelli – Urhobo youths, under the aegis of Urhobo Youth Leaders Association (UYLA), has asked the Federal Government to suspend plans to divert gas from Urhobo to Ajaokuta, Abuja, Kaduna, Kano and Niger Republic until all host communities in Urhobo land are guaranteed regular electricity supply.

The youths also called for the disbandment of the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and inaugurate the new board screened and confirmed by the National Assembly several months ago.

UYLA, in a statement signed by its Acting National President, Olorogun Vincent Oyibode, National Secretary, Chief Tony Ofoni and National Publicity Secretary, Chief Samuel Oghotomo also joined their Ijaw and Itsekiri brothers to call for the stoppage of sales of 57 marginal oil fields to strangers and give priority of choice to investors from the host communities.

According to the statement, the Federal Government must satisfy the demands submitted by the Federated Host Communities to Utorogu Gas Plant for Local Content jobs and contracts for Phases 2 and 3, pay compensation of N500 billion to families of victims of the Idjerhe pipeline fire disaster of 1998 and restore the Sapele Sea Port taken over by the Nigerian Navy.

“MoU with Urhobo oil and gas host communities to work out equitable formula for employment of Urhobo indigenes and execution of major contracts and supplies in the Ogidigben Gas Project as much of the gas stock for the project will be sourced from Urhobo, stop action on the proposed law for Federal monopoly or ownership of Niger Delta rivers and waterways.

“Guaranteed adequate funding for the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun and the Nigeria Maritime University, Okerenkoko and stop the implementation of the report of the 2014 National Conference, including 100% resources control, states, Local Government Areas and police.

The youths threatened that if the Federal Government fails to address their demands, they will not hesitate to join their Itsekiri and Ijaw brothers to shutdown every oil and gas facilities in Urhobo land.

I think all Nigerian governors should be fired and sent home . It's really frustrating how dumb some of them are .
A substandard tunnel officially worth $60 Million dollars was just demolished at Owerri. The money has just gone down the drain while the citizens are starving . Not only was the Tunnel substandard ,it was a terrible idea to build one where none was needed.
There are so many other examples of such wastage with nothing to show for it which adds up to Billions of dollars .And those billions could have helped towards stable electricity. The Governors seem to be wasting money on dumb projects that do not effect change in the quality of life of the citizens. I've repeatedly mentioned, and it is a fact that everything built is a complete waste without having the basics in place.

Structures should only be built where they are needed and not for show .States like Cross River and others I may not be aware of need Tunnels and bridges because of the terrain if anything . And only freeways should have overpasses .

When the citizens prefer these black elephants projects to human capital developments, what do you expect? Just imagine someone bragging with flyovers in his state and asking what has Obaseki done. That we should show him pictures of what Obaseki has done.

They prefer a governor who builds flyovers where it is not necessary and holding backlog of pension arrears to a governor who didn't build flyovers and one that pays salaries, pension and gratuity on time. They believe so much in irrelevant infrastructures than human financial development.

Your governor dey build flyovers but beggars litter your state na wetin dem prefer so the governors go dey do these irrelevant projects.
