ganisucks: A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Joe Igbokwe, has berated Nigerian activist, Aisha Yesufu, over ‘disrespect’ for the National Anthem.
A video making the rounds on social media shows Aisha Yesufu sitting while others stood during the recitation of the new anthem at an event.
Most guests at the event were visibly astonished by Aisha’s display, as seen in the video.
Aisha also shared a video clip of the moment on her handle with the caption, “Not my anthem.”
Reacting, Igbokwe, in a post via his Facebook page, said Aisha was exhibiting nonsensical behaviour.
According to him, Yesufu was causing damage to herself and her family by disrespecting the national anthem.

The FCT Minister, His Excellency, Chief Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike CON, GSSRS, Life Bencher. Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja has called on all his supporters in Rivers State to remain firm and resolute in the political instability in the state.
This he stated at the commissioning of the Office Complex For Government Agencies and Parastatals built by the Mayor of Port Harcourt City Local Government Area, Sir (Hon) Allwell Ihunda DSSRS, JP on Friday 31st May 2024; where he was ably represented by the Federal Representative, representing Abua-Odual/Ahoada East constituency in the 10th National Assembly, Hon. Solomon Bob.
Hon. Solomon Bob accused the Rivers State governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara of breaking laws and orders of the state, telling him to show his power by obeying and following the rules of law and not by disobeying the laws.
We went on to commend the Mayor for his people-oriented projects and impact on the Local Government.
The people-oriented Mayor sigh-over the seizures of the LGA allocation by the state governor. Said his administration couldn't furnish the commissioned projects to the desired taste because the Governor seized their allocation and sat on the LGA treasury since April 2024.
The Mayor thanked the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, for allowing him to serve his people. He categorically stated that he has done projects in all the 20 wards in Port Harcourt, hence fulfilling all his campaign promises. He also thanked the leader of PDP in Port Harcourt, Eze Hon. Ken Chikere, and other leaders for their support.
In his address, the leader of PDP in Port Harcourt, Eze Hon. Ken Chikere, lauds the Mayor of Port Harcourt for his rejuvenated and productive leadership in the LGA and said he will continue to support the Mayor or matter what happens next.
Same event, Barr. Blessing Chigeru Amadi DSSRS, Member House of Representatives in her address before commissioning the Council Canteen building also built by the project Mayor, Sir Allwell Ihunda, said she will proactively work with the LGA government agencies and parastatals in her oversight functions. She commended the Mayor for his steadfastness.
Heads of the various government agencies and parastatals gave their goodwill messages with a profound gratitude to the Mayor.
The two-in-one commissioning was well attended by top government officials, traditional rulers, security personnels, etc.
