TravelRe: 9th December Marked My Two Years In Australia by Ogonsbaba: 2:51am On Mar 06
lordally:
Congratulations baba, I reside in the UK(scotland) and I'm also looking at relocating to Australia either via Skilled Nominated Visa (Subclass 190) or
Skilled Work Regional Visa (Subclass 491). I have a BSC and MSC and I'm also taking a certification/Diploma in Residential Child care. I intend to use this to relocate to Either Australia or New Zealand

I just started making my research today. I would welcome any words of advice.🫡
Hi, which of the certification/diploma are you doing? NVQ Level 3, 4 or 5 please? Which of the Level is needed for applying to Australia or New Zealand?

I read Agricultural Extension in Bachelors and Agri-Food Technology in my Masters in the UK but have no work experience in any Agricultural related field as I ended up doing Care job. I saw Agricultural Technician, Agricultural Scientist, and Food Technologist and Agricultural Consultant in the occupation list. Please, can I apply for PR with Agricultural Scientist with my academic qualifications and get the visa as I have no work experience in agric field? Or should I apply with 4 years experience in healthcare and have NVQ Level 3 too?

I have completed and got my keys earlier this month. I went for an old build and got my mortgage with Barclays bank with 10% deposit. My interest rate was 4.46% when Bank of England interest rate was 4.25% and I fixed it for 5 years tenure. Thanks to everyone for answering questions and for the words of encouragement.

Please, i got an interest rate of 4.46 from Barclays bank. Is it advisable to go for 3 or 5 years fixed??

Hehe.. It's not a major issue. A year down the line, you it wouldn't be a bother. It's still within the wider range

With my recent purchase, only one solicitor among the three I contacted gave a quote below 2k.
When I purchased my place a few years ago, this was my quote.
Can you recommend the solicitors details as their price was affordable? Please, how many weeks did it take for them to complete the process and hope they are responsive? Thanks

Hello 👋
Happy new year 🎉
Two questions please 🙏

Can one use part of the money saved in Lifetime ISA for payment to solicitors. For example if one has £20K saved and the deposit is only 17k. Can some of the balance be used to pay other expenses in the process of procuring a house?.

Second question(s)
What are major questions that can be asked when completing a viewing ?
After viewing and being interested in the property, what is the next step to take ?
TIA
Yes, Lifetime ISA can be used to pay solicitors and the rest of the money will be transferred back to you if it's still surplus.

Please, who knows what's the likely cost of stripping artex on the entire wall of a 3 bedroom house? Is it worth it buying a house with artex and now spending to strip it later as the artex is still in good condition at the moment?

Please what is the best LISA provider to use for a first time home buyer. Is there anyway one can max out the 4k in a 12 month period 2wice and get government bonus 2 times?
Moneybox is very good as me and my wife are using Moneybox too. The duration to be eligible for the £1K bonus is from 6th April 2024 to 5th April 2025. You can deposit £4K now to get £1K bonus and deposit another £4K after 6th April 2025 to get another £1K bonus.

If you intend to reside in the United Kingdom for the foreseeable future, possibly till you reach retirement age..........

You still belong to the ''I am happy renting" school of thought...... How do you intend to pay your rent, when you retire........

Don't be like our grandpa below........

A good read 📚 and alot to learn about Tony Sinclair.
Will people read it? Yes.
Will some read and not adopt the lessons? Yes but they will definitely learn the hard way. Lol.

You need to apply for a visa for your child from 3 months for them to have access to free NHS healthcare via the IHS:

Children born in the UK to those here lawfully for more than 6 months
If you give birth to a child in the UK, your child will be entitled to free NHS hospital treatment in England on the same basis as someone who's ordinarily resident up to 3 months of age, but only if they remain in the UK during that period.

You'll also need to meet one of these criteria:

you have a valid visa of more than 6 months and paid the surcharge for that visa
you have a valid visa of more than 6 months, but were exempt from paying the surcharge
you have a valid visa of more than 6 months, which you applied for prior to 6 April 2015
You should apply for a visa for your child during the 3-month period after your child's birth.

If required, you may have to pay the surcharge for your child. Failure to do so means you may be charged for NHS services provided for your child after the 3-month period.

Immigration Health Surcharge
From April 2015 babies born in the UK are not entitled to free healthcare from the age of 3 months old, unless it is emergency treatment. In order to access healthcare parents of babies born in the UK will need to make an immigration application within the first 3 months of the child’s life and pay the Immigration Health Surcharge.
Thanks for this detailed information. I deeply appreciate this!

Please, me and my wife are on Tier 2 Visa and we had a baby 6 months ago here in the UK.
Do we need to apply for dependent visa for our baby or visa is not required?
And if visa is required, do we get our baby a Nigerian passport or is the visa application done with just birth certificate?
Thanks in anticipation!

Hi, I'm I still eligible for the bonus £1000 in my Lifetime ISA if I fund my account with £4000 on 1st April, 2024?

And is there any maximum number of years one can fund Lifetime ISA account and still be eligible for the bonus £1000 as I intend to fund £4000 each year for 5 years?

Have you confirmed that Barclays does offer the product?

As long as the £4000 is in your account by 5th April of the following year, it doesn't matter how, lump sum or drip fed, you will get the full £1k bonus.
I haven't confirmed if Barclays bank offer the product. But please, how can I open a Lifetime ISA account? I bank with Lloyd's and Barclays bank. I'm not seeing anything related to Lifetime ISA in my bank apps. Thanks!

The offer is not for you. Besides, I am only offering this to those with an investment mind set.

If you don't have 360k or you are still afraid whether MBA would sustain this or not, then this package is for you.

Even with MBA, some people still have trust issues. Go with your gut feelings.

A nairalander has already contacted me to indicate interest .

If you are not interested, why even waste energy to comment?
You are just looking for gullible person to scam.
