Apart from the political benefit of not consuming beef that this boycot will achieve, scientifically the long term consumption of beef in any form is not healthy. Suya made with beef is carcinogenic ( cancer-causing). Beef consumed in other forms depreciates life span and increases risk of cardiovascular malfunction in the human body. |
You do not need a computer to work with a spreadsheet in this day and age. Moreover, this sheet has been my go to tool for years now and it is appropriate for investing in Nigerian Tbills. I am not trying to sell anybody anything, I am only trying to help. |
igbizen:That's it. If you have any problem with the sheet please be specific |
Barrytone:what exactly should people be "worried" about? what is the problem with the spreadsheet exactly? Like I wrote earlier, only the variables on the left of the sheet are editable. For the tenor variable, just enter the days in number only. You don't need to add days to it. |
For a very long long time I have seen people struggle with calculating returns on T-bill investment. In order to help others do easy calculation regarding T-bill investment , I have decided to make on of my personal tools free for everybody to use. Please note that the only editable part of the spreadsheet are the variables on the right. I hope you find this useful. If you have any problem using the spreadsheet, I am always here on this forum. The name of the file is TBillscalculation.xlsx |

What every well-meaning Nigerian should know is that all these strikes in the health sector especially by the so called JOHESU, particularly in their modus operandi of incorporating violence and brigandage into it, to say the least, is derogatory to the sanctity of healthcare. Every worker has a privilege to go on strike but not in a violent manner! There has been no strike by JOHESU in which a medical doctor has not been beaten, molested, or abused. Worse is the case of patients who are forcibly and illegally denied the services they paid for. Cases abound in which members of this hell-bound JOHESU group shutting off oxygen supply to patients in ICU( Intensive care unit); forcibly and violently chasing out patients undergoing treatment for their broken bones from the hospital; cutting off power and water supply to the hospital. Then I ask you, who is the strike against? Innocent public of course! It is saddening though that the language that the government listens to is strike just because all these health workers have abused it. They now see it as a "legal" means of absconding from duty and vandalising the hospitals- our common property, as well as committing all manner of atrocities. You can fight for your right(s) in a civil manner not with the blood and lives of innocent Nigerians. Civil servants are not politicians. If you want to play politics go join a political party and exhibit your zealotry! |
I don't need to argue with anybody and I am not trying to do that with a doctor, consultant nurse consultant janitor, consultant laboratory technician or any rubbish appellation any of all the people in healthcare system in Nigeria may want to identify themselves by. My objective is just a point of information for anyone reading through the threads and trying to be informed not deformed by the vile peddled by some misguided individuals. Nairaland is a veritable source of information and opinion and people need to know the truth. Not sentiment and politics-driven anomaly and insanity happening in this insane Nigeria. That's why I have chosen not to quote anybody. Hospitals should be a place for people to have confidence and assurance of health but this is not so in Nigeria. It has become a place where so many misguided individuals play out their politics at the detriment of innocent public. I want to re-emphasize that this stupidity of crooked argument that something is done in UK, US, Mozambique should not be entertained in the policy circles except it is going to improve the lives of our people ; and not from some politics-crazed healthcare workers, that try to equate themselves to medical doctors by every possible means, who would be better as political touts instead of working in the hospital. |
I just find it nauseating that some health professional s in Nigeria are dumb and stupid ( sorry I no see another English replace am), especially a nurse all going ganster arguing with a Doctor on doing caesarean sections and prescribing drugs. Everybody in the health team wants to acquire the competence of a doctor or become a doctor through the back door. The website of, as well as the law establishing the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria clearly states the function of a Nurse (in Nigeria). The Curriculum as approved by the NUC in all universities also demonstrates this. That you've learnt Anatomy , Biochemistry and Physiology from the same lecturers and in the same class does not make you anywhere close to a doctor. If you think this is a lie, apply to study Medicine in any Nigerian University. The practice the nurse was mentioning to embolden herself can best be termed "quackery-out-of-necessity". Bear I mind that anybody can do anything if they are appropriately trained and enabled by law to do so. Any nurse that does surgery or even prescribe drugs is practicing quackery-out-of-necessity" . Simple and plain. There is no where in the Nigerian laws where a nurse is enabled to surgery. We know that Nigeria is lawless and anybody can do anything and get away with. In the end, it's just the innocent public that will suffer. I don't know why everyone in the health profession in Nigeria keeps using the medical doctor as an index of measurements. Everybody has a job description. Nigeria is lawless country that why. |
Any religion that uses violence or a semblance thereof to keep the population of worshippers is not in any way a religion of peace. A religion that has no modicum of respect for human right and liberty is no different from hooliganism. With all due respect to Muslims, Islam is not different a group touts calling the name of one "sky-daddy" in other to deprive people who are susceptible to brainwashing, their God-given rights to self-determination, self-awareness ,actualization and liberty. |
The exams was ok but one can't be very sure until the results are out. Many thanks. |
bigtt76:I just hope and pray you will see this very early. I have sent you PM at multiple times I am not sure you actually saw them. If you are in Accra at the moment , I wish to meet you if you don't mind. |

BNSITL I need help and information concerning the bonus declared by ABC transport (1 for 10)in 2013 FY and Skye Bank (1 for 20) in the last FY . I am especially worried for that of ABC transport because I have called the Registrar (First Registrars) and they seem to have got stuck with the phrase "awaiting SEC approval". As for Skye Bank I can't find any information as regards when the bonus will be paid. |
I am very remote from being an expert when it comes to programming. In my own opinion (especially for @ Sibrah ) who want to begin to learn JavaScript is that : 1. Avoid the "Dummy Trap". It is not worth your time and effort to start learning programming in any language by reading any book with the title "something-something for Dummies". I don't mean that the books in the series are not good or that I hate the publisher. You are not going to make a fast-paced development expect your are a lawyer or an avid lover verbosity and just want to what's up with programming. 2. Get the tutorial on dhtml18's blog, you also download the interpreter/compiler ( it is somewhat like a barebone IDE ). Also get books like "Jump Start JavaScript" , "javascript Succinctly" "speaking JavaScript" .That will get you started and fired up. If you want to turn into a guru like my ogas(bosses) on this forum , you can just add "Javascript: The definitive Guide". It is somewhat like the Bible of JavaScript. The good part about all this is that you can get to download all these books free on the internet (if you search well enough). 3. Don't get caught in the temptation to start using all those fanciful IDEs. You will have to learn to use the IDE and still try to learn the programming language. You don't need that hassle. Just stick to a text editor. I recommend Sublime Edit or Brackets. This will help you appreciate the syntax of JavaScript. There are plenty of text editors out there but the two I mentioned here , you'll surely fall in love with them. 4. If you do not like the text editors I have recommended here, just get any one you like and set the fonts to "consolas", " consolata" , "source code pro" or "source sans pro" . With these fonts , you'all surely be at home with JavaScript codes. 5. When you get into problems , don't think twice to ask people on this forum. They are a sure help. You'll definitely get help. I hope I have helped someone. FULL DISCLOSURE: I am a newbie to JavaScript and I am still a learner. I know nothing. Everything above is just my opinion. You are free to correct me or otherwise. |
CodeHouse: I started work on this software years back but stoped due to some other pressing pojects. I am too lazy to search, someone asked for it as a school project..I am whao!-ed by this project. But this is just a GUI. Can u share with us the algorithm and/or library you are using for image processing. I would love to follow this project. |
slightlyMad: yes it is cross-platform but what happens when the management ask that you add a small search form to the page,I want to get my hands dirty first . I am rest-assured you will come to my aid when i get trapped. |
dhtml18: This is the original correction required in jQuery. I still maintained the functions as much as possible so that you can follow it.Many Thanks for your effort. I quite like the elegance and brevity of the JQuery version although I find it less intuitive compared to the barebone JavaScript. I have heard many developers/programmers sing the praise of JQuery but I still dont get what the "hype" is all about apart from the brevity of LOC . |
dhtml18: I shall do my bit, just subscribe to http://facebook.com/dhtmlhub to get started.I will surely be one of your students. I want to make a significant progress in JS before the year ends . I really appreciate you effort . More power to your elbow. |
dhtml18: I am supposed to be a JavaScript expert anyway. I decided to do it just that way so that you might learn a few things or two. I removed some of the codes you have that are not necessary.Yes it did! But I am yet to internalise the concept. Many thanks!! I am once again very grateful . I have downloaded the PDF tutorial on your site and I am studying it ( just got to page 16). I Hope to make significant progress. |
slightlyMad: learn jquery, your life will be easierPlease can you help me implement the problem in JQuery. I think I read or heard somewhere that document.forms[0] is a cross-platform implementation(ie works in all browser); easier for a page with multiple forms and also think a code should be clear enough to be read and understood by another programmer with or without comments. I love to be a competent JS programmer. JS can be used for almost anything just like C and C++( it is a pity I no sabi dem ooo). I look forward to a day when all the implementation of JS in every JS Engine will be standardized to evey minute detail. Then there will be no need for JQuery. |
dhtml18: ^^^He does not know the problem actually. And he really tried with the code, it was just some little tweakings that were required. Many thanks dhtml18 D D D . I am sincerely grateful for your help. you've saved a Nation!!. I hope you don't mind explaining some of the codes in your solution.: 1. You dispense with the array for storing the variables .Why? 2. I still need a special class on the elegance of implementation of getPrice() D D. why didn't you use a for or while loop. 3. Please kindly explain the idiom you used in getQuantity() and why did you use parseFloat() and not parseInt(). 4. what is the reason behind parsing 'frm' to all the functions. Once again thank you very much. The next I need is to try my hand on form validation. May I also add that I tried your solution in 5 browsers( opera, chrome,Firefox, safari and IE ) it worked well in all of them. |
dhtml18: Mehn, the errors are too much. There is too many patch patch in the code. I cannot help you except to rewrite the entire code, and I dont have that time write now. There is both logical and syntax error within this code. invalid use of document.getElementById mostly.Many thanks. I have refactored the code and I still couldn't get the Javascript part to behave. Below is the refactored code. <doctype html> <html lang=" en "> <head> <script > //declare price in array var price = new Array(); price["A"]=2; price["B"]=1.8; price["C"]=1.7; price["E"]=1.6; function getPrice() { // get the price of the selected plan var price=0; var plan = document.forms[0].selectedplan; for(var i = 0; i < plan.length; i++) { if(plan[i].checked) { price = price[selectedplan[i].value]; break; } } return price; } function getQuantity() { //get the quantity of the plan wanted var quantity = document.forms[0].numb; if(quantity.value!= " " ) { quantity = parseInt(quantity.value); } return quantity; } function calculateTotal() { //calculates the total cost var totalValue = getPrice() * getQuantity(); // displays the result of the calculation var divobj = document.getElementById('totalPrice'); divobj.style.display ='block'; divobj.innerHTML = " Total Cost is " + totalValue; } function syncValues() { // updates the value of the textbox to the with the result of the calculated value. // document.forms[1].name['price_1'].value = getQuantity * getPrice; document.forms[1].name[7].value = getQuantity * getPrice; } </script> </head> <!--- <div> ----> <form action="" style="width:350px;padding:10px; border:400px" name="form1"> <fieldset> <legend> SM</legend> <label > Choose Plan </label> <p><input type="radio" name="selectedplan" value="A" /> PLAN A</p> <p><input type="radio" name="selectedplan" value="B"/> PLAN B</p> <p><input type="radio" name="selectedplan" value="C" /> PLAN C</p> <p><input type="radio" name="selectedplan" value=" E "/> PLAN E </p> <p>Quantity</p> <p><input type="text" name="numb" value=" "/></p> <input type= "button" value = "Calculate" onclick = "calculateTotal()" name ="calculate"/> <input type = "button" value = "Update" onclick = "syncValues()" name ="update"> <p></p> <p></p> <div id="totalPrice"> </div> </fieldset> </form> <!---</div> ----> <div width="120px"> <form method="post" action=""> Enter Amount<br /> <input type="text" name="total" style="width:120px" /><br /> <input type="hidden" name="id" value=" " /> <input type="hidden" name="notify_url" value="" /> <input type="hidden" name="success_url" value="" /> <input type="hidden" name="fail_url" value="" /> <input type="hidden" name="memo" value=" " /> <input type="hidden" name="item_1" value="" /> <input type="hidden" name="price_1" value="" /> <input type="hidden" name="description_1" value="" /> </form> </div> </html> I hope this makes things clearer. Thanks in advance. |

I have not had a very good customer service experience with UBA lately. This has somewhat biased by view of all its services. They most significant reason I am electing to use UBA U-Collect is the set up cost. All other "adjunct" services are similar throughout the payment gateways. |
