Honestly it doesn't. I should have had an advantage over it because as medical biochemist we are more grounded in the medical aspect but we have Medical laboratory scientists who are fighting day and night against medical biochemist in medical related jobs.

They say they spend 5 years and we 4 years whixh is more time in school

They say its there field and have license to practise but we dont.

Bottom line is, a Biochemist stands a better chance than Medical Biochemist against a Medical laboratory scientist.


I don't think medical biochemistry as at now has a strong union body to fight the claims of medical laboratory scientists so they are winning.

omg.. I tot the medical biochemistry wont have the medlab fight issue sef...

The need for union body to fight is not for medical biochemistry alone.. Its for all biochemistry...
I have not really seen what the union has done to create opportunities and fight for the rights of the biochemistry profession...


So what are your plans after serving.? And where will you like to serve?

Ehh, we took anatomy courses, physiology and phamacology courses in addition to normal departmental (medical biochemistry) courses.
U know medical biochemistry is under faculty of basic medical science while pure biochemistry is under faculty of science.

tpip,I understand ur frustration brother (matter of fact, I used to be like u b4 I decided to register and join NL...and of course GL). It is not our fault that NYSC has decided to use us in playing tennis. I can totally relate with the paranoia and anxiety...desperation sef. But dude,take a chill pill...life is not that serious. You're lucky we have patient dogs like Yorme (pun very much intended ) who has taken his time to advise you...bc person like me,na to use broom sweep u comot like APC.

Please I want to know the reason behind the closing of my thread on “nysc batch b 2016”? That thread was created for the purpose of information dissemination on topical issues relating to nysc 2016 batch b.

The previous thread created on nysc batch b has lost it value and that was the major reason behind my creation of that thread before it was closed.

I don't think the portal will start asking you that as your basic record should have been on the NYSC portal database. If otherwise, confirm from your school mobilization officials.

Okkay, u'll know if u're mobilized (or not) when ur school notifies you...some schools paste the list of students mobilized @ the Students' Affairs Division, I think there are some that upload the list online.
When online reg begins, it will be posted on NYSC website...we'll all know.
PCM means Prospective Corp Members
The online registration is done by logging in to the reg portal on NYSC website, fill in your bio data and do fingerprints capture,upload ur passport, then fill in other required details like ur jamb reg no,year of graduation, course of study etc...then u also get to select the states u wish to be deployed to (one state from each geopolitical zone).

What is mobilization?
How will i knw dat am mobilIzed?.
What is involved in the nysc registration process, and how will i go about it?
Also, how many states are we meant to choose, and what are the criterias for choosing those states?

Good morning ojaydedon,from the little I know, the first few stages of mobilization transpires bw your school and NYSC. You'll either be required to obtain a mobilization form from your school to fill in your personal details and submit with your Statement of Result,JAMB Notification of Result,Birth Certificate and a passport photograph. Or your school can go ahead and mobilize students with the personal details they already had (most private unis do this).
After this comes the verification of senate/academic board approved list; this and subsequent processes basically transpire bw the CPIs (schools) and NYSC.
Where the PCMs come in is when it's time for online reg;by this time, the mobilization timetable must have been released by NYSC on their website. The remaining processes from here will involve the PCMs and would basically be online.

Let me just explain it in a short way.
Firstly u have to fill in ur bio'data which include your name,jamb reg no,ur date of birth,matric no,emails.. and so on. Then submit it to ur school or ur course adviser.

Secondly, ur course adviser /ur DSA will go through ur profile and submite it to the senate.
Then when is time for senate list mobalization on the nysc portal.ur school send ur details to nysc and that is where d whole process starts.
Thirdly, then u wait for online registration for pcm which u will see on their website. U log in with ur email and fill d necessary details required. Then the rest will be in camp.
U will also receive ur call up letter.
Also while going to camp u will need ur school id,passport,call up letter,statements of result and other tins lyk cash.

Gives me goosebumps (Err...maybe not...but..) Thanks to everyone that has helped me out. Couldn't have done it without y'all. Remember, if you need me to address any questions just say my NAME and I'll come running (well...not literally)...and hopefully I'll know or help you find out the answer.
