4.Those who are trying to downplay the Copa are simply deluded. Rivaldo and Ronaldo won Ballondor solely due to their exploits in Copa win in 99 and 97 respectively. In fact, only CR7 has won Ballon dor after Euro win in the past 24 years.

Copa America & Euro played a vital role in deciding the winner. Copa America victory was the game changer and Messi's performance in the Tournament was superb. You and I know Poland underperformed in Euro and it affected Lewandoski greatly......if Bayern had won the UCL like last year, it would have filled the void but they didn't.

Lewandoski's achievement would have won him the award when if there was no int'l tournaments.

Sentiments apart (I love Messi a lot), but I think Lewandowski was cheated. He deserves the award more than Messi. His performance (in the Bundesliga and champions league) has said it all.
