smokinloud:before you type next time, try check Balon D’or calendar
|
Jking20:at this stage, you still don’t know the difference between Balon D’or and FIFA Best? |
Ezehillary:when FIFA start to give Balon D’or🤷♂️ |
Sizwezi:The reason a move didn’t materialize isn’t the bone of contention here. I was just trying to make you understand Mendes tried his best in that regard. Enjoy your weekend bro👍 |
Sizwezi:See bro, I followed the whole saga and I can tell you for a fact that Mendes did his best. When he was linked to Athletic Madrid, fans were against it. Todd Boehly wanted Ronaldo at Chelsea, Tuchel kicked against it. Mendes approached Marsielle but they were not interested according to a statement by their owner. Tbh, I don’t even think they can afford him. According to report, there was also an interest from Dortmund. He was also linked to Sporting Lisbon. Just like Marseille I don’t think they can afford him. There was even a rumour that Mendes and Laporta had a secret meeting Based on what was reported, I think it’s unfair to blame Mendes. Like I said before, maybe there’s something you and I don’t know. You talked about belittling , I responded by telling you change is constant. People, things and feelings change. Ronaldo is not a perfect human and would always make mistakes. If you and your fave are perfect, no Wahala. This has nothing to do with a perfect or imperfect Messi. When you said people, things and feelings change, I didn’t argue or try to counter you cos it’s true. You said I didn’t answer your question about Messi that was why I mentioned it sef. If the offer was not as good as Al Hilal would he have gone ? Or you think the contract Inter Miami gave him is child’s play ? The offer was good that’s why he also accepted.I never said that. Inter Miami made a good offer but Saudi was better.
|
Sizwezi:In football business, it’s one thing for a club to want a player and it’s another for the player to accept or reject and the club also has the right accept or reject players offered them. In this case, Ronaldo wants Bayern but unfortunately, they are not interested as stated by their sporting director. Mendes can’t impose Ronaldo on Bayern. He did his absolute best. If it was just about the money, I want to believe Bayern would have asked Mendes to reduce their demand. Mendes also offered Ronaldo to Napoli but they were also not interested in a swap deal involving Osimhen. I asked you a question about Messi earlier and you didn’t respond.look at the screenshot, it has always been Messi’s dream to play in the United state but that is not to say, money is not a motivation. Just like Ronaldo, he has achieved everything in Europe. The difference here is Messi never belittled MLS or any league like Ronaldo when he said he would like to finish with dignity at a good club. You and I know how much Al Hilal was ready to pay him if it was just about the money for Messi. The answer you give is just as good as the same reason Ronaldo is playing in Saudi.it’s not Mendez’s either…….again, except there’s something you and I don’t know about their separation.
|
Sizwezi:Are you blaming Mendes? Mendes reached out to many clubs but most were not interested just like Bayern. Read Kahn’s statement below. Mendes also approached Napoli. I wouldn’t blame Mendes except there are issues they never mentioned.
|
Sizwezi:Ronaldo was infuriated cos Mendes failed to secure a move to Bayern or Chelsea. This happened before the interview with piers
|

Back in 2015, in a conversation with TV chat show host Jonathan Ross, Ronaldo also said he did not see himself moving to the Middle East because he wanted to end his career with ‘dignity’. Awkward. Asked if he would consider a move to the United States or elsewhere when he gets older, Ronaldo said: “In my mind I want to finish at the top level, I want to finish with dignity at a good club. It’s not about what Xavi said or didn’t say, my point is him saying he wants to “finish with dignity at a good club” only to end up in the same Middle East. That’s 💯hypocritical It’s a money driven move. Let’s not try to deny it cos it’s not bad for a player of his age and pedigree. If you say otherwise, do you think Ronaldo would have moved to Middle East if a European club could match Saudi’s offer? And then again, go and read why he parted ways with Jorge Mendes. |
Sizwezi:it’s true that Ronaldo’s name will be remembered and mentioned before Ibra but Can you now see the hypocrisy? Immediately Ronaldo moved to Saudi, he changed the narrative as if he never criticized Xavi for making same move in 2015.

Angelfrost:United have been using fat salaries to reward underperforming player. I blame them not him. 350k pounds a week is making him feel untouchable. |
Kingcalls:Since you believe he is capable of winning with 10 woods, why did he not win Portugal the World Cup in his 20s? In his early 20s, He played with Nistelrooy, Rooney, Higuain, Tevez, Scholes, Giggs, Kaka, Benzema, Ozil, Ramos, Vidic, Ferdinand, Evra, Alonso, Raul & Di Maria. How many champions league did he win between 20-25 when he wasn’t playing with deadwoods? He was in his early 20s when he joined Madrid but could barely do anything until 2014 after Bale, Kroos and Modric were signed. infact , in 2017 when Madrid defeated juve in the final ... if Ronaldo played for juve that night instead of Madrid... juve would have lifted that cup... Ronaldo used 10 dead Portuguese wood to win the Euros in 2016.... Ronaldo at a younger age would have taken this Portuguese team to victory at the WC in Qatar...Assumption will not work in this case. In his early 20s, he couldn’t stop Barcelona in 2009 & 2011 but you somehow believe the outcome of 2017 final would have changed if he was a Juventus player than. Ronaldo did not used any 10 dead woods to win Euro2016. Pepe, Cavalho, Mourinho, Quaresma & Renato Sanchez no be deadwoods. If they were deadwoods like you claim, they would not have won the final without him. 2022 was the first time ever, portugal will enter the WC with recognised playersFigo, Cavalho, Ronaldo, Deco were not recognized in 2006? .... unlike Argentina and Messi that had always played at the world cup with arrays of Argentine stars... if Ronaldo were Argentine, it would not have taken him 9 attempts at the and 5 attempts at the WC to finally win a trophy for country...The number of attempts is inconsequential. If qualifying for finals is easy, Ronaldo would have taken them to more finals. Argentina have been unlucky for years not because Messi didn’t do enough. Ronaldo 2016 performance is average compare to Messi’s performances in 2014 & 2022 World Cup and also 2015, 2016 & 2021 Copa America. In this 5 tournaments that they got to the finals, Messi won golden ball/MVP in 3. If it’s about performance for national team forget, Ronaldo no reach Messi class. Ronaldo kept scoring minors in qualifiers to build his profile. In tournaments, he goes missing most of the time while Messi keep pushing Argentina with outstanding performances to finals. Just take a good look at the mediocre squad he inspired to 2022 World Cup final. He did same in 2014 and has repeated that performance in Copa America severally. Messi came out of retirement to score a hattrick against Ecuador that qualified Argentina for 2018 WC. Ronaldo is still yet to win any MVP award with Portugal. Messi won at all levels. it took him just on his 6th attempt to win his country's first ever trophy and win the second in his 8th attempt... it took Messi 13 straight attempt to finally get his hands on a trophy for country , despite his nation being recognised as a football power house for decades ... 2 world cups, 4 finals played, played in the first ever world cup , even b4 Brazil... hosted the world cup ... they had won the most copas in copa history b4 Messi joined the national team ...Messi led average Argentina to 2 World Cup finals. Compare 2014 & 2022 Argentina squad with this Portugal that couldn’t pass QF with Ronaldo. There is no difference between bundesliga outcome last season and ligue 1 in 2020... the only difference is that dortmund fumbled on the final day while lille dint ...there’s a huge difference. To dethrone a super and dominant team like Bayern and PSG, you must be strong, resilient and consistent. Lille displayed all these attributes unlike Dortmund that Bayern will drop point, instead of them to win and extend their lead, them go play draw or lose. |
Kingcalls:There’s no hypocrisy anywhere. You guys hyped Ronaldo then made it look like he played for Crystal, Sassuolo or Bilbao while Messi played for European football powerhouse like Madrid, Bayern or Liverpool. Have you forgotten how you guy mocked Messi by saying Ronaldo can win UCL with 10 deadwoods? I told you the other time, whatever Messi fans are doing today Ronaldo fans pushed them to it. When Ronaldo won Euros, you guys made mockery, slandered, discredited and blamed Messi for all his misfortune with the national team. When he finally broke the jinx with Copa America, you guys tried to belittle his achievements and then attributed his national team success to Di Maria. The bolded, let’s assume Madrid did not win UCL in 2014 then went ahead to win from 2016-2018. Will you stick to your opinion if we compare Madrid 2016-2018 with Barcelona triumph in 2009, 2011 & 2015? How bad can PSG possibly be for them to finish below second in a league they’ve practically dominated since 2012 or 2013. Like Lille and Monaco, they also played same number of games but finished with lesser points on 2 occasion so it doesn’t matter where they finished. The point is, they lost the league by 1and 8points to Lille and Monaco respectively. Dortmund had glaring opportunity to win the league unlike Monaco and Lille but they blew it away. Bayern dropped many points. If they were serious, they would have won bundes liga with nothing less than 10points. If Lille was not consistent just like man City some years ago, they won’t be able to dethrone PSG with a one point lead. |
Kingcalls:winning the league 8-10years consecutively is different from winning back to back to back and then losing it before reclaiming the title. It has happened twice in the last 10years. Monaco didn’t win because they lost Ibrahimovic. They were better and played like a team. Have you forgotten them knocked Man City out of UCL that season? They didn’t win the league in the last day. They won the league with 95points. Meanwhile, PSG had 87. It was Lille that won the league on the last day not Monaco. On why they didn’t challenge the following season, they must have sold some players and their coach Christopher Galtier also left the club. Give Lille their flowers bro. It’s not about PSG losing Mbappe or Neymar to injuries. It’s about Lille consistently winning their matches. It happened to Monaco too. After winning the league and reaching UCL semis, Mbappe was sold to PSG, Bakayoko joined Chelsea, Bernardo and Mendy joined Man City. Lemar later joined ATM. Why should Messi join Monaco or Lyon to prove himself. Even if Messi slashes his salary by 60%, can they afford him? Or don’t you know Westham and Leceister players earn better than those that play in Lyon, Lille and even Marseille. PSG is the only French club that can afford him. |
Kingcalls:The point is other clubs were able to stop their dominance inbtw unlike juventus and Bayern that were unstoppable for 8-10 good years. Napoli, Inter and AC Milan were investing but couldn’t stop Juventus. The only time a club manage to invest in Ligue one(Monaco), they gave PSG a run. French clubs cannot keep their players from big money spenders cos of their financial strength and it’s affecting their performances. Imagine if Monaco had kept Bernardo, Lemar, Mbappe and others or if Lyon had kept Benzema, Ben Arfa, or Marsielle had kept Ribery, Nasri or Lille did same with Hazard, Gervinho and others. Each time French clubs try to rebuild, there’s always a steal. See how Lyon has been struggling after losing Guimaras, Paqueta and few others. Samething is affecting Portuguese and Dutch clubs cos the big leagues depend on these leagues for players. They might win the league cos they are the only club financially capable of signing good players. Although once in a while, other clubs can pull up surprises. |
Kingcalls:yeah but there's no 6 consecutive seasons here and the teams I mentioned were those that won ligue one during their reign. Juventus won 8 consecutive scuddetto before Ronaldo. Did he make any difference? |
Kingcalls:they have never won ligue one for 6 consecutive seasons. They have lost the league to Monaco once, Lille twice and Montpellier once. |
Joker change the headline to Pendu swarmed by a Group of Alhajis and part time imam😂😂😂 |
greypencils:and you too |
greypencils:I deliberately no wan answer anything about Cannavaro cos I smashed your argument about Sneijder. You ran to Iniesta. If I drop anything about Cannavaro, you go still shift goal post to another person. |
greypencils:After presenting you with facts, you no longer have points to back your initial claim about Sneijder. You had to switch to Iniesta cos in my response to your last quote, I acknowledged the fact that he stood a chance of defeating Messi in 2010. Dude, instead of switching from A to B when an argument gets intensed, ensure you have enough facts before you engage anyone on or offline. Who mentioned goals here? Go and check Messi general stats and also look for Balon D’or criteria If it’s just about goals, Messi would have won 2016, 2017 & 2018….. despite having the highest goals and assists in 2018, Messi did not make top 3 and there was no noise about it Haaland won UCL. Messi won WC Haaland won EPL. Messi won Ligue One Haaland won FA Cup. Messi won League Cup Haaland UCL & EPL Best Player. Messi WC golden Ball Haaland UCL & EPL Top scorer. No golden boot for Messi Both players deserve to win so rest |
greypencils:capping cos you no longer have anything to say about 2010 after seeing superior arguments. It’s too early to start dragging anything with you. Have a good day! |
greypencils:Just like I expected, you mentioned Sneijder. Was Sneijder the best player in inter Milan that season? Answer: Milito Was Sneijder the best player in seria A that season? Answer: Milito Was Sneijder the best player in UCL that season? Answer: Milito Was Sneijder the best player in 2010 World Cup? How can someone who was not even the best player in all the competition he participated win Balon D’or? On what basis should Sneijder be awarded Balon D’or? Because inter won treble and Netherlands were in the finals? Have you ever wondered why he didn’t even make top 3? Simply because his individual stats were not really impressive. Most of you screaming Sneijder’s name was because he was part of a team that won treble just like Jorginho win UCL and Euro with Chelsea and Italy not because he was outstanding. Before you go around comparing Sneijder’s 2010 to Modric’s 2018, know this please! Modric won golden ball in 2018 World Cup and he was also voted UEFA Player of the Year for his outstanding performance in UCL & WC. Messi 2010 team and individual achievements La liga winner Club World Cup winner UEFA Super Cup winner European Golden Boot winner UEFA Champions League Top scorer La liga Player of the Year Mention one player with a better stat than Messi in 2010. It’s not like Messi didn’t win anything at all. Iniesta is the only player that could have defeated Messi cos he won everything with Messi plus the World Cup but Individually, Messi was better. Don’t ever mention sneijder in Balon D’or conversation unless you have enough fact to back it up.
