The existing setup is 12v x 200ah battery, hooked to 2 x 250w panels, my fear is that the extra strain of running the 250w pump for 2 to 4 hrs daily, may be draining the batt badly, especially during poor weather...hence my uncommon plan to put 2 3xtra panels on timer...

I intend to wire it up with a float switch as well, to control tank fill up and pump shitdown as the setup is designed to be purely autonomous since its its in the villa and no knowledagble person around

@ aliexpress, yes received items from there, but hvnt oredered the pump yet.
Learnt nipost hv suspended ops for 2wks, so AliExpress purchases are a bit dicey now
Shipping cost of that thing on AE outweighs the value o

What do you mean by cumulative charge? Sell and Buy charges are different and the number posted above from Morgan Capital is cumulative for either of the trades - that is - Sell/Buy - which includes VAT charges, CSCS, etc.
Thanks for the enlightenment

Buyingis 0.875% + SMS charges.
Breakdown:
Broker's Commission: 0.5000%
SEC Fee: 0.3000%
Stamp Duty: 0.0750%
CSCS Alert Charges: N4.20 per SMS .........

Selling charges: 1.175% (0.3% CSCS charges included here)
Unless there is some hidden charges am yet to find out with meritrade, I think the cumulative charge of 1.3% of meritrade is still better

Thanks.
Meritrade is for big boys, we're just trying to compare brokers with low charges as Morgan. wink
Does Morgan charge less than 1.3% ?

To fellow diyers looking for low power submersible pumps, i stumbled on this goldmine.
250w AC 1000liters per hr sumo pump.
Its on aliexpress, amazon, ebay as well. It would be easy to incorporate a timer and float switch as well..

My new plan now is to add additional 2 x 250w panels to the setup , but wire them in parallel to the existing 2 panels and put a timer on the additional panels. This timer will be synced with the pump timer so they both come on and go off at the same time....to avoid boiling the single 12v 200ah battery grin

To view 【NGN 19,464.36 16%OFF | SHYLIYU 1" Outlet Stainless Steel Screw Water Pump 3" OD Pipe 0.33Hp Submersible Deep Well Pump 20m Cable Centrifugal Bore Pump】 on AliExpress with code #_d7emt9a#, copy the whole sentence and open the app.

My only question is....would an 850va luminous hybrid inverter be able to handle its startup surge.
Wow! This sounds like jackpot, have you received the order on AliExpress yet? As to your question I think it should be able to handle it but why not just connect it to your existing set-up since it's AC?

Will be nice to know another broking firm that can serve as good alternative also, reason I said you can tell us more about them but since you don't know much, it's fine.
You may look at meritrade just started using them and they seem quite responsive

It happens only on solar. Goes to zero or near zero on most inverters and maintains that.
I don't think the behaviour should be different even if charged with utility. When a battery is full, such as my Lifepo4 the charge current drops to zero

please kindly explain to me how I can correct it I wasn't aware when it was done thanks very much
Take it to those that know about electrical wiring (popularly called rewire) they will return it back to normal, it's usually a easy thing

Okay plan for a replacement in near future unless you've been discharging below 50%

Brand of batteries - I use four 200ah Genos batteries.

Yes it is true inverters have inbuilt charger, but in most cases, they never charge it well. Most times your batteries go low and to bring it back up with normal inbuilt charger is not attainable.

Haven't you heard of cases where the inverter batteries seller will tell you they need to supercharge your batteries so that it can attain back it optimal use ?

Although most of them will just tell you, your batteries are dead or bad. Lol They probably supercharge it or resell it sha.

And by the way, the supercharger is connected with the inverter and the batteries directly. It is not separate.
How long have you been using your batteries with the "super charge" set-up?
ComputersRe: Inverter Users : Lets Have Your Experience by ojeysky(m): 8:07am On Mar 29, 2020
Fisher007:
Ok no probs. Ask them if they can supercharge the batteries? You never can tell . Safe
Lol, there is noting wrong with my charging and I don't understand the supercharging that folks are saying. My battery saps the hell out of my charging system which has a max charging capacity of 60A. It's super enough for me grin

200AH Lifepo4 with felicity or MPP GK inverter

Ok I guess the time am away. But still, I run it overnight from 7pm to 7:30 am during the power shortage that lasted for almost a week and had no problem.

Well it works well for me. I still can't believe that an inverter can't last more than 48hrs or 72hrs if well charged .
It's not the inverter but your load. My average load is about 170w from 6pm to 7am and that cost me about 120A of battery bank storage.
ComputersRe: Inverter Users : Lets Have Your Experience by ojeysky(m): 10:16pm On Mar 28, 2020
Fisher007:
Oga na 800ah battery on a 2.3kva microtek before was 2.5kva mercury and trust me mine last for almost a week to two weeks without light.

Or may because I run it overnight and am out next morning. But there was a time when there was no light for a week or more. I never still had issues

If your batteries doesn't last more that 24-48 hours then you have a bad battery or your inverter dey drain light .

I don't carry much like I specified earlier. Mainly lighting port and socket . My air coolant is not on all the time and my TV nor laptop too.
So you have 8 200Ah batteries ran in 2s4p since your inverter is 24v? Or are you using a 12v inverter? In both scenario unless your load is 50w it won't last (24hrs X 7 days). I think the times you are away (assuming you are not using your inverter during that period) should not be counted. Enjoy!

Can bad catalyst or no catalyst cause low fuel milage in any car.? . if not what is causing low fuel fuel milage in my Hyundai Tucson 2008 4plug
I observe the fan is running directly
No check engine light
I scanned nothing was found
Exust pipe has no leakage
Airflow meter replaced
No black smoke
A mechanic ask me to replace catalyst converter, and my problem will be solved
That's one of the reason in bold, correct that as soon as you can
ComputersRe: Inverter Users : Lets Have Your Experience by ojeysky(m): 8:23pm On Mar 28, 2020
Fisher007:
There are no disadvantage really. But normally a 2.3 or 2.5kva should use two 200ah 24v battery. Some people still use two 100 ah battery but it won't last long as much as a two 200ah.

For me I use four 200ah batteries. The inverter installer interlooped the first two batteries ontop in series, then the second two batteries below in series then paralleled them altogether. That means it charges them two by two. I now still connected it to a super charger ( though it is not really necessary). But I always supercharge it once in a while to maintain the battery from ever going low.

I hope you understand or this make sense to you. Mine last for minimum 10-14 days without NEPA. Cause I don't use it for fridge or Ac or pumping machine. My total load is not even up to 400w or 500w ( few bulbs, laptop, TV, game, air coolant (once a while),phone charger ) that is all.
And most time all my appliances are not on at the same time.

My next plan is to get DC appliances, I heard that is the next way to enjoy electricity if one wants to live an OFFGRID life in Naija.
Interesting, even if you are discharging at 10A which is about 160w your 400A @24v battery bank won't last 48hrs(which is 2 days) and this assumes 80% DOD which is not even healthy for lead acid. Can you clarify how many hours you run daily before folks start getting motivated on 400a setup that lasts half a month. grin

I don't think 4x12v 60A will be 240, it will be 120A 24v

Why is buying stocks now and selling later not a good investment? as I seem not to be seeing the gurus here talk about that investment avenue.

I have a perfectly working 4-year old 24v outback inverter (VFX-3024E) that I will like to exchange for a 48V variety or another good inverter or sell for cash if I get a reasonable offer. I also have a mate 3 I can sell at a reasonable price.
Hmm....is this the move to Lifepo4 48v process cool

Good evening guys
I stumbled upon this thread and I really need help

So, dad's trying to switch to solar energy and I kinda need a breakdown of the suitable energy capacity to buy
Load is (2 standing fans, a tv, freezer, pumping machine, energy saving bulbs and 4 laptops).

Thanks in anticipation

We reside in Ekiti(Ado to be specific)
I may be able to help, since we reside in same location. For a start you need to be more specific on your consumption by checking actual rating of each load, a TV can consume 450w while another TV can consume less than 50w.

Seriously. Here it can only power the 1.5hp pumping machine for 3min and the 2hp ac will kill it instantly
I use solar to charge it too
But it has been over two years now
Okay we have different load, mine is 1.5hp AC and pumping machine is 1hp. It powers as long as my solar/battery can provide the juice required.

Sorry to take you back to this old post. I'm actually in the market shopping for Inverters and I'm trying to pick between the GK and MK series of the MPP solar inverters
No troubles.

The GK sure tops with all the newer features but I do need clarity on two things

1) What does the 'transfer time' mean. I noticed it's not zero like the MK?

2) Is it noisy because I read on Will Prowse review that the fan of the MPP is quite noisy?

Thanks in anticipation
It means the time it takes to switch power source, for the normal household appliances you won't notice the difference as all your equipment will still be on. As to noise yes MPP fan does makes some noise when on full spin, but it's bearable. I have my MPP indoor and it's not loud enough to wake my sound sensitive madam.

Nope it's not always equivalent. My 3kva felicity is rated 2.4kw. My 3kva MPP GK is rated 3kw

Please what do you mean by “L3”
It's just the settings on the thermocool inverter AC. L1 is the lowest speed and L3 is the highest.
