Hope is governor of Imo state so he can use his executive power to influence election result. I am a core APC member and less than a year ago Peter Obi was a PDP member.
There is nothing like "ordinary Nigeria people" when it comes to politics. Etno-religious sentiments play a big role in Nigeria political space and it is not stopping anytime soon. Even in a state of the same tribe, section and religion/denomination play important roles in voting patterns.
