Thanks for your feedback. Appreciate.

Focus on yield. That is what you are effectively earning on the bond - when the price you pay and the coupon you are due to collect over the rest of the bond term is taken into account.

Then, the remaining duration of the bond. How long do you want to tie up your money, while earning that yield.

These depend on your own investment stance and possible alternative uses for the fund, if any.

Personally, the 17-Mar-2027 (ie, 5 years remaining) bond, yielding 12.20 would be an acceptable compromise for my own circumstance.

Dear House experts,

I received the bonds secondary market offers below.

I would kindly like to know which would be the most profitable to invest in assuming I have a capital of N5mill.

I still do not understand the relationship between yield and coupon rates.

Thanks in advance.

Seasons greetings.

For those of us holding FGN bonds which have been more attractive than NTBs for quite sometime now and still is, don't forget that January and March 2022 is round the corner. This is a subtle reminder to compound then if expenses allow.

Wishing us all a wonderful festive season.

Can you kindly advise how one can purchase FG Bonds without having the 50m capital? (Retail purchase)

Thanks.

Becareful, a lot of predators will soon send private messages to you. You should also continue doing what produced the N12 million.

I will advise you to invest half of the money on FG bonds and remaining half on money market funds, till you have an idea of what you can invest in. At least this will give you about N1million per annum, that is about 83k per month

Good day sir.

Can you kindly advise on the details required to invest in FG Bonds (not FGN Savings)?
What bodies assist individuals in FG Bonds investments?
Could you also help with current rates, minimum capital required etc.? I have checked the CBN website, only to find rates provided from the primary listing.
Is there a thread on FG Bonds as well?

Thanks a million.

Hello House,

It's time to think of a way forward.

Short/mid term bonds (5 yr) may be an option.
Agrotech investments are also a possibility.

Please lets share ideas.

Thanks.

51 Billion Naira on offer, 610 Billion Naira subscription. Guys going for the lockdown in droves. Why rate no go crash. Simple law of Demand and Supply in play here. bulk of this money will be hanging around the corner in 2 weeks time and rates will drop further.

I have said it months before the election that anyone that got 15% to lock it down instead of waiting for the days of 18 and 19%.

1. In Late December, i locked down Sukuk Bond of 15.6% for 7 years
2. Mid February Treasury Bils 14.95% 364 day locked down at stanbic
3. Mid February Treasury Bills Secondary market another bank 14.4% 358 days locked down.

If i had waited for the kill, i would have regretted.

I dont regret my speculations

Bro, are you still active in the equities market?
Your diversification dey enter my eye i swear.

I recommend the book “Your money or your life” to members of this thread.

There’s a global movement of millennials called “FIRE - Financial Independence Retire Early”.

The goal is to work your behind off, while saving/investing the bulk of your income such that the proceeds of your investment can cater for your current standard of living.

Financial independence has a number to everyone. Eg : 100mill, 200mill etc. Find yours.

thats will be good news if tody rates was actually 15%
if someone lock 60mill for 364days, thats will be 60mill x 15% = 9million Minus extra Bank charges!

In my states, A Landlord/Landlady with 5 Storey Building is earnig just 3.6 Million in a years, so why cant i leave the stress of Tenant and lock in Tbills kiss

Bro, while i understand your perspective, you really cannot compare instruments of 2 different asset classes.
Both have their pros and cons.

If I invest 1M for 91 days tenure on 11% rate, what's the likely interest after maturity?

No interest on Treasury Bills. They are discounted.

So you get N27,500 before deduction of fees.

And your 1M back on maturity.

How come we are happy when the prices of the cars or houses we want to buy falls, but not happy when stock prices fall..

If your temperament can't accommodate market correction, bear market, market depression, the best place to invest your fund should be the money market.

You now know why I don't tell people to buy Stocks. There is not easy money anywhere, the stock market inclusive. Know your, master your game, control your emotion, be patient and willing to learn.

Good morning sir.
Can you kindly recommend any source of knowledge/books regarding equities investment/stock investment in Nigeria or generally?
I am a newbie in stocks investment and willing to diversify into same.

Your response will be highly appreciated.

Good afternoon people,

I must say the concerns that someone had here earlier regarding discrepancies in MMF balance are very valid.

I am currently witnessing the exact thing.

An excess of 300,000 was added to my balance, only for me to report the issue and they revert, telling me the excess was actually for 1,000,000

Resolution is currently in progress. I'll surely update you with information.

Bro, you feel Bitcoin investments are ponzi schemes? I ask because i intend to learn from your perspective.

Personally, i feel they are simply speculative instruments rather than investment instruments.

Would like to read from you.
