Spirit04:I am surprised that they are still compiling the result, almost two weeks after the elections. It befuddles me about the activities of this party. They have shouted hoaxes on an election result they are yet to compile. Relying on what the polls say before the elections, they have almost grounded the country and the electioneering process. What did their situation room give them? I believe now that they are a bit of an incompetent team who will play with the future of this country. I submit that after this case might have been rightly dealt with by the Courts, the Labour Party should go for proper training in Leadership, Management and Politics |
We saw what happened in Lagos, what were they trying to do? They were trying to reduce the embarrassing numbers. They knew they could post a victory there but what they did was reduce the embarrassing numbers. So it was a difference of 10,000 votes almost. The APC were able to bring down the numbers there to a number that would not embarrass him (Tinubu). That’s what they did there. We saw areas of strength of the PDP, and how they were able to shore up the numbers to help them there. We saw what happened with the NNPP in Kano, where they were able to raise numbers and we saw children voting. In the local government where I come from, children were voting for the LP. Yes, we have the videos. So all these parties rigged in their domains of strength. But as I said, their rigging could not affect materially the outcome of this election. Ultimately, the majority of Nigerians had their way and say with the outcome of the election. Both the LP and the PDP are challenging the election outcome in court. Do you see this as a wild goose chase? What I expected the LP and PDP candidates to do is if they say they won, let us also hear the number of states they won and the figures. Let them show us their pathway to victory. You will never see them saying that or showing them to you. All they are doing is essential to build energy for their party going into the elections this weekend. That’s all they’re doing. They want their people angry and charged up to go and fight and do anything possible to go and win states this weekend. Were they to concede victory to the APC, their supporters would immediately collapse and support the APC for the governorship poll. |
I have gone through some of the States mentioned here but I have not seen the results the LP is posting as authentic Please anyone else can check and report back |
samsononyilo:Taraba is a Christian dominated State and PDP stronghold, but the Governor lost his senatorial seat to APC in a place you said they rigged. Please be objective in your analysis |

The APC Chairman said something funny to the man in front of him (see the man on Hausa native cap turning his head backward) and Tinubu is responding to that joke by smiling. |
Berrityga:Jonathan and wife frustrated Amaechi before he joined the opposition to remove Jonathan, and he's vilified. Wike is fighting a political survival battle. He teamed up with someone who can help him win the battle. That's not betrayal. It was Wike who was betrayed by the PDP after helping them survive the onslaught from the APC from you 2015 to 2022 |
Onyiridike:The challenge with ANAP Poll is the partial result analysis that gave them out as partial. You have a very high level of REFUSED AND UNDECIDED (which are more than the declared polls combined together), and you came out with a result that a particular candidate is leading All Obidients are not ashamed of mentioning the name of their preferred candidates, so, if you have a REFUSED to mention or UNDECIDED yet, it calls for caution in your final report ANAP Polls predicted Peter Obi's win without the UNDECIDED AND REFUSED. If you add the percentage of REFUSED to all the other candidates, then Peter Obi's lead is gone and he will be trailing at second or third position |
The group, consisting of 134 organisations, at a press conference addressed by its Secretary General, Taiwo Adeleye, in Lagos yesterday, projected that Tinubu would win based on the analysis of the preferences of 19,365 persons that its researchers surveyed in January. It said, “The Nigerian Human Rights Community poll revealed that the presidential candidate of the APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, holds a magnificent lead and is on course to win the 2023 general elections.” The group explained that the poll also confirmed a two-horse race for the second position between Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP), while Rabiu Kwankwaso of the NNPP came a distant fourth. According to it, 7,940 (41 per cent) of those interviewed across the 774 LGAs in the 36 states of the federation and Abuja said they preferred Tinubu; 5,035 (26 per cent) preferred Atiku; 4,067 (21 per cent) supported Obi; while 1,743 (nine per cent) was in support of Kwankwaso; and the other parties’ candidates collectively got 1,162 (six per cent). |

Please be aware that the election in Lagos is not as you have it Tinubu will win with a very wide margin I have surveyed the Lagos area and discovered that those rooting for Obi are mainly Ibos and some Youths. The believe that Yoruba Christians will vote for Obi is a ruse. The Yorubas understand better that religion does not matter in their politics. If the Presidential election had come up in December 2022, Peter Obi would have done better and challenged Bola Tinubu, but the events of the past few weeks (the Naira Swap, and the ethnocentric view that the North are persecuting him) have brought the people back to Tinubu. This is evident in the boldness of URCHINS to attack and speak on Nairaland in recent days, as well as the view around the city about Tinubu and no one else. Taking a cue also that the coming of significant developments from the Federal to Lagos State has happened majorly in this government when their son's party is in power. They also believe that the Security of Yorubas would be more assured if they have their Son (Tinubu) in power, rather than Peter Obi who may focus on security in his own domain. The major determinant of this shift to Tinubu is the fact that Tinubu will help them regain the losses they may likely suffer if the current Naira swap challenges continue. Thus the cliche, "vote Tinubu and continue to spend your old Naira till December 2023) His boldness against the powers that be also gave him out as someone who would not be afraid to take some bold steps to solve Nigeria's problems. At the National level, the continuous push and advertisement that it is the turn of the South to produce the President will work to favour Tinubu. My final verdict - Tinubu will win Lagos, and win the National election |
HIV patient cured after bone marrow transplant in rare case, research shows By Kelsey Ables February 21, 2023 at 3:43 a.m. EST An HIV test being conducted on a blood sample. HIV is now manageable for most patients, but only with daily medication. (Luke Dray/Getty Images) Listen 4 min Comment 0 Gift Article Share A man in Germany who had been diagnosed with HIV has been declared free of the virus after receiving HIV-resistant stem cells through a bone marrow transplant intended to treat leukemia. According to research published in the journal Nature Medicine on Monday, the man was monitored for more than nine years after the 2013 transplant, and there is now “strong evidence” that he has been cured. The remission of HIV, which is usually considered lifelong, comes after a team at University Hospital Düsseldorf destroyed the patient’s cancerous cells and replaced them with donor cells that lack CCR5, the receptor that HIV particles use to infect cells. In 2018, the patient went off antiretroviral therapy (ART), a treatment that keeps HIV at manageable levels, and has remained free of HIV since, the paper said. He is one of a small handful of people to receive such treatment effectively, including Timothy Ray Brown, who had a bone marrow transplant — also to treat leukemia — in Berlin in 2007, and Adam Castillejo, who was declared free of HIV in London in 2019. While this treatment is unlikely to be used with non-cancer patients because of its high risks, the research offers further confirmation that HIV is not entirely incurable, as was once thought. It also offers hope for a future without daily medical treatment for those with HIV and underscores the potential for other research pursuing a cure. There’s still no HIV vaccine. The science behind coronavirus shots may help. Björn-Erik Jensen, the virologist who led the study at Düsseldorf University, said in a statement to Nature Medicine that the research “shows it’s not impossible — it’s just very difficult — to remove HIV from the body.” Sharon Lewin, director of the Doherty Institute in Melbourne and president of the International AIDS Society, has known about the Düsseldorf patient for several years. She said by phone that the research was “very reassuring,” noting that there have now been five patients who have been cured through this pathway. “This is real, and it’s reproducible,” she said. Lewin acknowledged that the approach is “not a reasonable strategy for 38 million people living with HIV” globally but said it offers other avenues for more “scalable” research. “The most important thing is that what we’ve learned from these studies is that if you make every cell resistant to HIV, the virus has got nowhere to go and eventually melts away,” she said. There could be less invasive ways to create that resistance, such as gene therapy, which could make it possible to modify an HIV patient’s own cells to make them HIV-resistant. Lewin said there have been “some really big advances” in gene therapies over the past five years that might make this “highly feasible.” The Düsseldorf patient marks the latest development in a disease that was once a deadly diagnosis. Thanks to breakthroughs in medicine, it has become a manageable condition for those with access to medication. HIV damages immune cells and makes it difficult for one’s body to fight infection. But ART can slow HIV from multiplying and help an individual’s immune system get stronger. If those with HIV take the medication daily, they can decrease the viral load so that it is “undetectable” and not transmissible to sexual partners. However, HIV, when left untreated, can progress to AIDS. From 1990 to 2019, deaths from HIV decreased by 86 percent. And average life expectancy after an HIV diagnosis has gone from one year in the 1980s, during the height of the AIDS epidemic, to near normal, according to the National Institutes of Health. The research in the Nature paper is “inspiring and motivating,” Lewin said. When someone is newly diagnosed with HIV, they often ask, “does that mean I’m on treatment forever?’” Lewin said. “As a doctor, I would say, ‘Yes, it does. But there’s a lot of work going on to find a cure.’” “I think when people hear about cures, it has a very profound effect.” https://www.washingtonpost.com/health/2023/02/21/duesseldorf-patient-hiv-cured-stem-cell/?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=wp_main |

Coolsperm:As a young person, I observed you have been posting this information across platforms for many days, now. Please note, Tinubu did not steal money but used two bullion vans to bring in cash which was used to prosecute the last election in favour of President Buhari. Many people believed it was used for vote buying. President Buhari wants to stop that kind of politicking now and is introducing policies to stop vote-buying and the like |
She spoke well The headline misrepresented her posture I love the bible quote she made |
This is a policy supported by PDP and LP APC has denounced its implementation |
Naira20:I do not agree with your position. Tinubu built iconic roads in Lagos. Not just ordinary wash-off roads, but iconic roads. One of the best ever in Nigeria and the world that I know. Some of the built roads are more than 23 years and they are still strong e.g. Kudirat Abiola Road, Oregun. Lagos CBD Roads. Simbiat Abiola Road, Ikeja, Mushin - Ojuelegba Road, Yaba - Lawanson/Itire road, among others. Go and verify! Lagos was under constant attacks by the OPC, Akala Boys (Mushin), and the RRS vs LSETF initiatives by his government brought an end to all the challenges. Lagos introduced free education for those in Basic Schools, revamped education and rewarded tutors, he built millennium schools and paid WAEC Fees for all students not minding their background and state of origin. He walked his talk in education and his wife supported him through the annual SPELLING BEE competition, where the winner is made to serve as one-day governor of Lagos (can you beat that!). I think you should acknowledge him for what he has done and don't demarket him if you aren't voting for him. |
wegevv:He would have gotten that in January, but that has changed now with the current Naira swap crisis and the rallies in Lagos. The reality has dawned that Obi does not have the followership as presumed. He will do well in Lagos, but would not perform well in other SW States. The current Naira swap is tilting SW voters toward Tinubu, and this may shore up his performance in the region. Atiku will lose Osun - no thanks to the Tribunal judgement pending at the Appeal Court. It has removed the shocks in the party's wheel in the State and the people are rooting for Tinubu now because he is being touted as a son of the soil |
What you should know is that either Atiku or Tinubu will win the election All Obi supporters are not afraid of mentioning their principal's name as whom they will vote for All "indecision" or "refused" by the potential voters would go for other contestants So, if divided equally among the other top three contestants, Atiku or Tinubu wins In my opinion, Tinubu has the best pathway to victory with more than 25 percent in at least 28 States |
You want APC to lose this election? Why won't they fight the forces that are militating against their successes at the polls Every failed policy is a minus for the ruling party (which APC is at the moment). That is the reason for their attacking the policy and its implementor APC has much to lose if this policy continues. The earlier it is adjusted before the polls, the better for the party |
To the court - Machina accused APC of forgery and it must be proved, but he failed to prove it - The election of Bashir Sheriff, Alhaji Bashir Sheriff, Bashir Sheriff Machina, and Bashir Sherrif were not one and the same. There is a need to confirm which of the Bashirs was nominated and elected. - The election held on May 28 2022 was not for Yobe North Senatorial seat but for ZONE C, which was not known to law. So, Bashir Sheriff Machina or any other person nominated at that election cannot claim to be nominated for Yobe North Senatorial Seat - The election held on 9 June 2022, though not observed by INEC, is valid as the committee given the task had earlier given that day for a revised election for the Yobe North Senatorial election. - All the documents purported to be submitted or alleged to be from APC for the election were unsigned and undated, including the result sheet. And in law, such unsigned and undated documents are not counted or accepted as valid documents - Citing different cases from Nigeria to England, and to some African countries, the court stated that the preliminary court and appellate courts were wrong in not accessing both the fulcrum of the case as per forgery and others. For that, the judgements given by the lower courts were set aside and the appeal of the APC was sustained. Actions - Any name submitted by APC should be recognised - Machina can still correct any errors in his name and affidavit, but time has elapsed for such matter to be reviewed by the lower courts. It is over! - The Court did not deny Machina his mandate, but he failed to prove beyond reasonable doubt that the mandate belongs to him. The court will not give you a property that bears your name but you are not the rightful owner My Take - The Supreme Court is not to blame, as the alternate decision for a review of the cases is already time-bound and elapsed - When pursuing a Court case, employ sound and technical savvy lawyers to help you prosecute your case - Review the existing laws to make sure that the owner of a property is not denied his rights due to technicalities - Where statutes or cases are time-bound, the law can give the Supreme Court the right to make a pronouncement for an extension, if necessary Que Sera Sera |
About 90 per cent accuracy Rivers is the only exception for now for APC Edo should go Labour way and change from Battleground |
Tinubu 2 Obi 1 |

Tinubu has worked for it, and it behoves that he is rewarded for it. It will be foolhardy for us to vilify him for the efforts he has put into politics and service to people all these years. I believe he will have enough support across the country to guarantee him the position of the President of Nigeria come May 29 2023 |
Afikoo:He went as a Federal Government delegation to AFCON that year See the link https://www.vanguardngr.com/2013/02/afcon-jonathan-sends-mark-3-govs-3-ministers-to-south-africa/ A statement issued by the special Adviser to the president on Media and Publicity, Reuben Abati Friday said the delegation will be led by the President of the Senate, Senator David Mark while members include Governors Peter Obi of Anambra, Isa Yuguda of Bauchi and the Minister of State (Foreign Affairs) Prof. Viola Onwuliri, the Minister of Police Affairs, Navy Capt. Caleb Olubolade and the Minister of State (Works), Ambassador Bashir Yuguda. |
This poll is for APC to lose ANAP poll was right in its result but the calculation was faulty From my personal analysis, All those in support of Peter Obi are not ashamed to say so. Thus, ANAP poll rightly captured those respondents. If you have 'Undecided' and 'Refused to declare' in the same region as the percentage you gave to Peter Obi, then, it calls for a second guess or consideration that they may not be supporting Obi and may likely support the other opposition candidates. So, I infer that if we share the percentage of refused or undecided evenly over the top three candidates, then, Obi is not in the position to win. Recent polls suggest otherwise that Obi is losing steam and the other candidates are rising. The current Naira Swap may be the final straw that may either shore up Obi's popularity or deflate his support base. My postulation is that Crisis management will be a factor in this electioneering process. My prediction 1. APC 2. PDP 3. LP 4. NNPP 5. SDP |
