Oh, and just because I'm feeling generous today, let me say that I actually understated the dominance of the SW in Nigeria's non-oil GDP: Lagos alone is responsible for 65% of the entire country's non-oil economy, without even accounting for economic activity in Ogun or Oyo.

http://www.businessdayonline.com/examining-lagos-state-gdp-figures/
https://www.ft.com/content/c2873917-6890-3dd2-9ae8-85119971a325

The available poverty indicators by region support what the IGR numbers already tell us, which is that the SW (and not just Lagos) is by far the most productive part of the country.

http://www.worldbank.org/en/country/nigeria/publication/nigeria-economic-report-improved-economic-outlook-in-2014-and-prospects-for-continued-growth-look-good

As for official Nigerian government stats on GDP by sector, the latest ones are available from

http://nigerianstat.gov.ng/elibrary?queries[search]=GDP

and they show agriculture having fallen to just 21.35% of the economy as of Q1 2017, with industry + services amounting to 78.66%. Oil only amounted to 8.9% of the entire economy.

So, I've done my bit to produce hard evidence to back my claims. Instead of being asked to produce more and more figures as if I were a clerk being paid for his time, I say let's see who can produce any solid evidence - and not mere anecdotes about northern peasant farmers "feeding" the country and so on - contradicting anything I've said about northern vs southern productivity.

If Ibaka seaport is built, The SE will generate more revenue than all the other regions put together.

The entrepreneur spirit of the Igbos will lead to massive industrialization

Well said. But until we start discussing this topic the status quo will forever remain. Mind you apart from South South, South West contribute most to the Federation very much more than the South East. So nobody should be turning against anybody. The difference is that some people are prepared to work while some insist on 'Monkey work, Baboon whack'

Open a seaport in the East especially Ibaka seaport at Akwa Ibom and watch the region generate more revenue than the rest of Nigeria.

If I am grateful to God for one thing, it is the fact that the bitch called Hilary Clinton didn't win the presidential election. Trump has made it clear that he will not supply weapons for the Nigerian military and that alone gives me joy. By the time they exhaust the ones available which is supposed to be utilized in fighting the insurgents on innocent people, let me see where they will get more. Stupid shytehole president

The day the terrorists killed villagers at Ivo LGA, I told the governor's media stooge, Francis Nweze that it was a rehearsal.

He just got word from his village Oganenigwu in Dekina LGA.
There's fighting going on right now between Fulani herdsmen and the village.
The Igala boys who went into the bush to fight are currently retreating.
They are no match for the herdsmen.
My aunt and others have gathered at a muster point,
and are proceeding to flee to the next village.
The police at Ayingba have been alerted but there's been no response from them yet.
I doubt that they would be any response until the battle is over.
My dad fears that his village, my village, would not make it this time around.
Dear Lord, please intervene.
Update:
Just hearing now that lots of my village boys are dead, being butchered like meat.
My dad's informant has run into the bush to hide. His 2nd informant is trying to get his mother to Ojuwo.
But his bike has a flat tyre now.
Pandemonium.
Confusion.
Death again.
Please is there anyone out there who can help?

Bakynes24:

Igbos cannot even dare say Yoruba hate them. In fact it is the other way round.

As regards the abandoned properties, my grandfather who was a neighbour/to an Igbo landlord at Ebute-metta Lagos, collected rents from his tenants without the Igbo landlords knowledge. The tenants kept fighting my grandfather that what was his business with the house sebi the Igbo man has left for Biafra and they now own the house and would not pay rent. The Igbo man came back to Lagos after the war and thanked my grandfather that he thought he had lost the house and that he only came to check around. My grandfather handed over the 3 years rent money that he used to start over his life and also the key to the house.

So igbos cannot say we hate them with the appointments they get and the freedom to even contest in some elections in Lagos. It is them that have never done a single favour for the Yorubas so they dare not say we hate them instead they are the ones always reciprocating our kind gesture with hate.

Your grandfather might have been a good devoted Christian unlike most of his ethnic group who are like their ancestor that was cast out of heaven.

The Yorubas simply hate to see igbos do good or succeed.

The Yorubas attitude towards igbos has always been "I will rather us all suffer together than watch you succeed".

Even though Nigeria has clearly been far more beneficial for the Yorubas, the moment they see anything good happen for the igbos, they immediately lose their mind.

In summary, igbo attitude is;

" Yorubas are doing great in this area, let's change our ways to be able to meet up and compete with them"

Yoruba attitude is:

" Igbos are doing great is this area, let's do everything possible to make sure that we stop them from succeeding"

You truly studied the Yorubas

This attitude of theirs, has been observed by me too over the years.

As much as i am for unity and all that, i think it's time we realise Nigeria will never get to her destination with northern Nigeria part of the union. No matter how much progress the south has made, Nigeria is only as developed as northern Nigeria. We are in a Union with people who long for the glorious days of Islam. People who hate progress. Nigeria takes one leg foward the northerners drag us 2p kilometres back. How can we fold our arms and normalise the babarity of these animals. If a Christian from the South rapes and kills a pregnant Hausa or Fulani girl there will be a Holy Jihad. Its high time us southerners unite and say enough is enough of this nonsense.

With this statement Atiku has disqualified himself from the polls and won't be having my vote....We don't want a leader who can't address a problem for what it is but would rather try to play on words.... every Fulani attack is carried out with the explicit approval of Miyetti Allah which always follows any agenda that the majority of Fulanis want ....Fulanis have used terror and vengeance as the pivot for their expansion for years and they all support it so for Atiku who I thought should know better to now start using clever words to shield a collection of criminals shows he doesn't have the fairness and equity required to be a leader of a secular state like Nigeria ...Nigeria cannot afford another ethini Jingoist in power

Most Fulani people are the same in mindset.

Coal power is cheap but environmentally unfriendly.

I would advice we go for Biogas power systems and decentralize electricity sector
