I am sorry about your visa denial but I think you played a huge
part in the unfavorable outcome. Nothing is guaranteed in life but this is what happens
when one does not prepare for important events. You sound quite
ignorant, clueless and utterly desperate. Even if you just want to
enter the country without actually going to school, you need work hard
and ensure you put up a good fight in front of the VO.


Can you turn this whole thing around? Maybe. I will advise that you
learn from this and not just prepare for your next interview but any
other big event in your life. Do not come here and ask silly
questions about basic things that show you did not do any sort of
research. You have the internet, get to work. If you cannot work hard
with little reward, it might be tougher when you eventually move here.
Anyway, take some rest and do not see this as the worst that can happen to
you. Think of worst things: Cancer, jail, MMM crashing and you have your
life savings staked there. Try to do your homework and see this as a
wake up call. Good luck!

did u check with bigfrancis21 , sirRiddy ,Texrem and walspring before sending it to your friend. any of these 3 might help u pay the Sevis .

Please advise, I sent 200USD via moneygram to a friend in US for SEVIS payment but he said the bank said they have not been able to pay SEVIS with western union for almost 2 weeks. you cannot make the sevis payment in Nigeria, is either you go to eco bank at seme border to make the payment,or get someone here that will help u make the payment here in US,so you have to just fill your details at the sevis fee website and send a confirmation page that include your details and a coupon number to the person here in US that will make the payment for you, but is more advisable to get someone to help you make the payment here in US,because going to seme border really includes a lot of stress

I just secured apartment. Private student housing, guess what? I chose the co-ed option. boys and gehs, 4 bedroom flat with private baths and shared living room. Na new facilities, swimming pool, gym, club, lounge, etc. For the next two years, na yansh go surround me. Make all of una dey chase cgpa and nonsense STEM. me I go dey here dey enjoy my life dey go. Awon ti furo iyeneme girls wey dey squat die for gym. chei... This is the place to be.

On the academic sense... I don't know so much cos lectures never start. Don't pm me and be asking me for OPT/STEM and all those efiko things abeg. Let's leave the "sadness" for mid-semester. Right now, iyalaya won. make we dey flow dey go.

Posts like this inspires me - neglect the 'contemplating rewriting' part cos of a 3.5 in AW.

I heard about GRE at the inception of my undergraduate final year programme -few months back.

I decided that I would give it a try at the end of my programme - of course with the intention to nail it once.

Today, I can partially say that I'm through with my programme. Just one paper left.

This is to say that an unsmiling shitload of hardwork awaits me - albeit I'm clenching my fist awaiting it also.

In this spirit of increasingly high optimism, I implore everyone preparing to take the GRE soon to work in unity dropping relevant tips that can be mutually beneficial on this thread.

For those of us preparing to write the exam, lets change the focus of our attention. Let our attention be more exam focused.

If you intend to write the exam in say 6 months, draft out the reading schedule for the first month, spill your schedule out here, update us weekely or daily on your progress -positive or negative.

Trust me, this will go a long way in increasing your commitment to your GRE prep. You'll inspire others by your progress and others inspire you by their progress.

So instead of sitting back there dropping wishy washy posts on here, create your schedule, spill it out here, work, update us, motivate others and also get motivated. Simple formula.

For starters I've printed relevant books recommended on this thread. I'll draft my reading schedule for the month of August and spill it out here. By God's grace, I'll also be updating you guys subsequently.

I do hope that someone gets motivated.
And more importantly, I hope that someone joins me in motivating others.

We shall all tell our success story in the end. Amen.
