Sam95: I don't knw y u guys want 2 bring this 2.1 & 2.2 story up again. even if ur not told, u shud knw dat d class of result will be important in this type of few-persons-to-get-the-job type of employment. Even if they are beta 2.2, hv DSS finished exhausting the long list of genuine 2.1? Or are u with a 2.2 saying DSS shud do away with a 2.1 who passed d exam and pik u? Let's b frank here. The reason results are graded is 4 stuffs like this. 2.2 is only an alternative in DSS and everywhere, which in real sense we all knw dat d number of genuine 2.1dat will pass d exam will even be more than d required persons. So u wit a 2.2, face d fact. If u want 2 show ur smart without u present 2 defend ur result, my genuine advice 4 u is 2 go and present a Masters result ahead of one with a 2.1. Ask ur self, if u hv a firm and want 2 employ, won't u finish screening those wit beta results? And will those wit lower result won't just be an alternative? And when u fine d number ur looking 4 from the higher grades, won't u just dump d file of d lower grades? Be honest wit urself. 4 those wit a 2.1, I hail u cus I knw what it takes. 4 those witout one, 4 ewatever reason, I understand but I don't tink its an excuse. Bcus, I was an okada and a farmer 2 pay schl fees. In school, I contested 9 posts and won 8. But I spent all my spare time with my books bcus I KNEW WHAT I WANTED. In God We Trust!Lol. What i am saying is that these guys want to recruit the best persons based on the result from their test, now if 25 people wrote the exam and they want just 5, if the best 4 had a 2.1 and the guy on number 5 had a 2.2, the guy with a 2.2 will be on the list of 5, even if every other person made a 2.1, as long as they were not able to score higher than him in the test he will make the list. Now, let me tell you one thing people fail to understand, you do not have to look down on people with 2.2, i bet there are some wonderful guys among those people, a handful of them are very good, especially those who made more than 3.0, i am a master's degree student in one of the leading Nigerian federal universities and i study mech. eng., after our coursework results came out, the guy that led our department with a CGPA well over 6 out of 7 made a 2.2 from a state university here in Nigeria too. Please do not underrate these guys, circumstances sometimes account for why they made a 2.2. Please i am not in for any quarrel or argument, just making my point with facts. Thanks. |

emlilshady: please ignore these woodpeckers!! making a first class does not mean others are not intelligent, some didn't meet up to their grades for reasons of politics in school, sporting activities or even some lecturers that are bad in marking.Babe, a 3rd class graduate took leave for a Phd? I thought Phd is meant for people who made 2.2 or above and made a mphil/phd or Phd grade having done their master's degree...........Please correct me cos i might be wrong ooo. |

mcdon60: if settling down with your woman is your aim, i think Australia is better, 1.8m should be enough for your Tafe 1 semester fees depending on your course though, medicare, visa application and flight for both of you, but for living expenses, i doubt it, mind you, Australia is very expensive so you should have some pocket money to survive on at least for some months till you ballance. Also remember that your sponsor should have up to 6m in his account for both of you and you should also have a very good statement of purpose to back your application as to why you are going for advance diploma course. Btw, its better you go first with that budget and then she joins you later after settling down. But if going to germany and then to Australia na your aim, omo she might not want to wait for that long story o, u know ladies na? remember na oct nxt yr u talk say u dey plan 4, by then she go don 30. Germany first and then Australia, waste of time and money. U sure say she go fit wait? Omo, i feel u o. Pls try and settle down to think and weigh your options, don't be under any pressure.Oga mcdon60 u are too much, I appreciate your contribution and I value it so much. God bless you. Abeg make u dey pray for me make things work out in all areas. Thanks. |

RedReact: ^^^Oga Red, hw is Hongkong? I agree on going in first and my woman joining later but you haven't given your opinion on the other question, I seek advice on wether to go to germany first and do another master's degree and enter australia for Phd or use the 1.8M naira on advanced diploma in australia. My woman doesn't have age on her side as she is 29 already and we ain't married yet, I have been the one causing the delay since I don't have a job . |

I need someone's opinion on this please, I believe few people know me in the forum but for those who don't know me, I have been a part of this place for a while now, I started my M.sc here in Nigeria cos I couldn't raise enough fund to move to australia despite securing admission to study M.eng mechanical engineering from Ballarat university, Now I am tired of the strike in the country's universities, I wrote IELTS in october and I made 6.5, 6 in both listening and writing and 7 in both speaking and reading, thanks to info from this forum and God. Now, this is my problem, my girl is working here in Nigeria and earns between 70 and 80k but I want her to quit the job and travel with me but I might only be able to raise 1.8M wit d help of my father come october next year, would it be a good idea if I use this token for an advanced diploma in australia as I feel it might nt be enough for a master's degree or I should get to germany first for another master's degree and find my way to australia. I prefer australia because you can move in with your spouse and she can work. I just need your opinion on this please, I understand that people like jenny have an all round experience in the 2 countries in question. Please advise me. |

sods: pls shine more light on this, as far as am concern, u've not passed any message across to anyone. TanxBrother, she did pass message, she is simply saying the computer is a lie detector, it will screen you out once there is any trace of discrepancies in the information you provided. Take for example, you were born in 1985 and you finished primary school in 1990, when primary school itself is supposed to be 6 years. So, whatever information you have provided must be perfect(From primary school to University, the age and timing must be reasonable). |

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: NAF Dssc 2012/2013 (Course 21/22) by okesammie: 6:10pm On Sep 11, 2013 |
Hello Emrino, i tried to read the whole thread to see if i could get an answer to my question but i did not. As someone who is in the system, i believe you will be able to answer this question. For mechanical engineers, are we to be COREN certified when applying for NAF or a graduate membership with the Nigerian society of Engineers will do? If that will do, how serious is the NAF about sighting the certificate or they just assume u must have been induced as a member so long you graduated as an engineer because they stated as part of the requirement that you must be fully registered with your professional body. 1 Like |

Lol, just contact them and ask them if not having HSE and NEBOSH disqualifies you, they will simply ask you to pay some money to get trained. That is the idea behind the scam offer. Beware bro, imagine the sentences, they ain't even properly structured. Languages like "we wishes'' instead of we wish and ''proofs'' instead of proves, Conoco philips HR people don't know that prove is the verbal form of the word proof. Abeg, tell them make them park well. |
