Dunsin89:
Yes, that is very true. It is so mainly 'cos those [/b]universities are not as transparent in their admission[/b] processes like most universities in the south west. The like of those schools (UNN, Nnamdi Azikiwe Universities, IMSU etc) are more of tribalistic when it comes to their admission. Merit is Alien to them

that's not true. most people don't like to travel out of their territory

they prefer being local champions

It's like you lots are suffering from amnesia .

Quote me where I said he was killed by Biafra .
You lots have a problem and the earlier you sought yourselves out the better.
I never knew that you lots also have a herd mentality like the Hausa/ fulani .
Zombie.

He was many parts and different things to
different people - a university students leader,
a teacher, policeman and Nigerian army
officer. An undergraduate student of chemistry
and student union president at the University
of Nigeria , Nsukka, he left school to lead an
armed protest against the exploitation of oil
and gas resources in the Niger Delta areas
which benefitted mainly the federal government
of Nigeria and Eastern region with capital in
Enugu and nothing was given to his Ijaw
people. He believed that the people of the area
deserved a fairer share of proceeds of the oil
wealth. He formed the Ijaw Volunteer Force, an
armed militia with members consisting mainly
of his fellow Ijaw ethnic group. They declared
the Niger Delta Republic on February 23, 1966
and gallantly battled the Federal forces for
twelve days but were finally routed by the far
superior Federal firepower. Boro and his
compatriots were jailed for treason. However,
the federal regime of General Yakubu Gowon
granted him amnesty on the eve of the
Nigerian civil war in May 1967. He then
enlisted and was commissioned as a major in
the Nigerian army . He fought on the side of
the Federal Government but was killed under
mysterious circumstances in active service in
1968 at Ogu (near Okrika) in Rivers State .

he died fighting for Nigerian state that captured and imprisoned him.

apearently he killed many on the Biafran side with his special unit

Ireland was a previously independent country, with a central government, conquered by Britain. Is Biafra same?

yes Africa in general were independent sovereign nation states and empires and down in old Eastern Nigeria (Biafra) we had the Aro confederacy which extended to present day Benue Cross River and some parts of Cameroon. the make up of this set up was nation city states with few monarchs that still had council of elders which represents every clan that made up such city states.
a highly decentralized system ( Igbo Ama Eze )

Politics / Re: Is It True That Morning Assembly In Primary And Sec School Is Banned By Fg? by okeyley: 6:06pm On Nov 11, 2015
CONTRARY to the reports being circulated that the
Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Solomon Arase has
banned pre-tertiary institutions of learning from
conducting morning devotions, the police authorities
have said they only alerted schools in terrorist-
infested states to be cautious.

A statement from the Force Public
Relations Officer (FPRO) Assistant
Commissioner of Police (ACP) Olabisi
Kolawole said the warning has become
imperative so as to warn the authorities
of primary and secondary schools in
these states not to expose their students
to avoidable danger.

The IGP therefore “wishes to inform the
general public that the Force has not
issued any order banning assembly
devotion in primary and secondary
schools anywhere in Nigeria.

It is “against the backdrop of current
security challenges in the country, that
the Police only issued advisory notice
directed predominantly to the States
where there are insurgency, enjoining
them to apply caution in the said
assembly so that such congregations do
not present soft target for insurgents”.

While duly recognising the fundamental
right of the citizen to freedom of
worship,”the Police High Command
states that the Nigeria Police Force did
not stop anybody from taking part in
prayer sessions organised by schools,
churches and mosques, describing the
congregation as the constitutional and
democratic rights of Nigerians.

Arase enjoined the public to see the
present position of the Force as a
necessary sacrifice for the security,
safety and peace our schools need, as
security is a collective responsibility.
He reassured all Nigerians of the Police’s
determination to “strengthening and
enhancing the safety and security of all
residents of Nigeria while counting on
Nigerians to continue to support and
work in synergy with the Nigeria Police
Force toward the achievement of its
constitutional mandate”.
