Kukutente23: Ghana currency is stable ?? How did it work for Zimbabwe and Venezuela? It's obvious you don't know what you're talking about. stop bringing old news here. Cedi is stable than naira . 1usd is c11.2 |
Business › Re: FG Mulls Redenomination Option To Stabilise Naira by okeysoninv: 2:39pm On Aug 20, 2023 |
Kukutente23: Redominating will not stop that. You forget money is essentially a store of value. What redominating simply does is to turn 1000 in your pocket to 100. Are you better off that way or worse off? It's deflation pro max. What needs to be done is simple. From Buhari to Tinubu simply lack the balls to take it head on. Without that, any other thing is cosmetic and will always backfire atleast Ghana cedis is now stable. So ur jargons don't hold water, many nations has redominated there currency including Zimbabwe and Venezuela. And it worked for them. Not everything u guys will be criticizing. Many Nigeria workers are earning less than 20k since 2014 without correspondent increase in salary. |

Absolutely, there is no way we can survive with out redenomination of naira. Once naira close the maximum threshold of #1000 per a dollar we can remove a zero . Making 100 naira equal to $1. As of 2013 rate. |

The govt should fight the corruption in the system and allow the market forces to determine the value of the naira. same way you guys were advocating to float naira . See where it has landed us. christejames: That stuff is not sustainable bro...
The better solution to the water issue in Enugu is the one suggested by Edeoga which is daming of major rivers, treating, reticulation then supplying.
For the record the issue of water in Enugu North senatorial zone should be a thing of the past now because of the FG constructed Adada Dam with large reservoir for water. The govt should complete the treatment section, reticulate then supply it to various communities in the zone.
The drilling of boreholes for water supply for a large city as Enugu is a poor economic sense. The pressure on the submersible pumps will be out of this world, if they must provide constant reliable water for the city. What Mbah is doing will only be good if the water is to be supplied to a section of the city.
------ Enugu State is now unfortunate, just see how dry this thread has become, no new development from the state, just some propaganda. Digitron, what's happening? borehole is the best solution for Enugu city as ugwu onyeama is very close to Enugu city. Build 100's borehole around that area with a huge central reservoir , the water problem will be a thing of the past. Most of big rivers in Enugu are very far from urban areas so it becomes a huge problem piping them to the city center. |

ogmask: The thing tire me i swear. The naira started falling like snow when Buhari came in and it has continued ever since. The bolded is the truth that will continue to haunt them. don't mind they have blamed alot of things ,, like refinery, export , import and the price of crude oil. Meanwhile today the price of crude oil is high yet naira is still falling. Prior before then what was our export when dollar was nearly stable during 16 yrs of PDP regime. The truth lies with cabals of this nation, they are the reason the currency is falling. CBN is not regulating this aboki . This is where the round triping, arbitrage traders are having field day. In fews days naira will cross 1000+ . |
Politics › Re: Naira Slides Further As Dollar Shortage Hits Banks by okeysoninv: 1:09pm On Aug 14, 2023 |
Barywhyte: Naira will continue to fall. Nothing anyone can do about it. Is it really difficult for you all to understand? Nigeria is an import-based economy. Virtually nothing is produced in this country that is worthy of export. Save for crude oil. $$ is not our local currency. So for you to have $$ locally, you need to export goods and services and then people (foreigners) can pay for it.
Exporting means people are working locally and earning wages/salaries. It means the factories are open and working. It means the manufacturing hubs are busy. What do you think the 33.1% unemployment rate (the highest in the world) truly means?
Add 33.1% unemployment to the policymakers at the government level which is completely detached from the realities on the ground. Add it to bloated governance that knows nothing apart from sharing monies. Add it to incompetence at all levels of government and governance in Nigeria.
The problem in Nigeria is bad leadership. Fixing bad leadership starts with a transparent and true electioneering process where people are freely allowed to elect their leaders, not the sham of elections we have seen from INEC since 1999 until now. Fix the politics first. The politics will fix the economy and on and on. make una stop talking all this nonsense talk about import. Every country in Africa import why is NIGERIA different. Go to Ghana, Kenya, Zambia Benin, etc there currency is stable except nigeria. We even export more than them , have the 2nd largest foreign reserve in Africa. The early you agbadorian realised the fall of naira is because of maladministration the better for your redemption. |
