With hindsight, I would say that Jagaban's video did great damage to Pastor Osaze Ize-iyamu's fortunes.

The lesson here is, like ex-POTUS George Bush stayed away from John McCain's campaign to avoid complicating it with his 'baggages', Asiwaju Tinubu should have worked at the background especially as his personality and influence were made Obaseki's campaign theme. He should have stayed to allow Edo people do their thing. Even, Adams Oshiomole should have also reduced visibility because Osaze Iyamu is widely-loved grassroots man who have successfully drove that campaign.

Having said this, it is possible that some forces in APC connived with Obaseki to do some 'electoral doping' in order to cut Tinubu/Oshiomole to size. Even this Gov. El-Rufai may be among them. Remember "I said, it is possible".

If Obaseki's victory is about godfatherism, what is Gov. Nyesom Wike to Tambuwal, current PDP chairman Prince Uche Secondus, Hon. Kingsley Chinda, etc. The truth is that after his tenure, Obaseki becomes a godfather to protect his interests by imposing his fav.

The APC in Edo state & @ national level is currently enmeshed in multi-prongs crisis that it will take eternity to resolve.Even the primary that produced Ize Iyamu is still being contested in court.

So the worst mistake Godswin Obaseki can do is to defect back to the APC with a popular mandate that providence brought his way last Saturday.He will forever regret it.This is politics anyway where anything can happen.

I sincerely believe Obaseki will return to his private life after his tenure is completed - the man is not a natural politician - He is an investment banker - I see him expanding his business by venturing into new sectors and probably working with Dangote since they are friends - He wont be in politics. He may accept ministerial appointment if the president considers him but I do not see him running from pillar to post running for office

That is the difference between someone who has a business or skill before politics - they easily retire to that business

Being a money market guy, he knows how to turn N2 Million to N10 Million in a year, he will just be fine in the private sector - The only person I know will continue politics is Shaibu - and because this Edo election is off cycle, he may have to run for Senate - challenging the current APC Senator in Edo North - and if he wins, he will have to leave office as deputy Governor one year short to the completion of his tenure in 2024

Shaibu should go to Senate and If I were Shaibu, I will use my office now as deputy governor to focus on my Senatorial district for the 2023 PDP Senatorial ticket - and it should be easy if he starts prep early. IF he doesn't go to Senate in 2023, then by 2024 - He will be without a job after Obaseki is done with his term and I have a feeling PDP will give the gubernatorial ticket to an Esan man in 2023. I WILL NOT ADVISE SHAIBU TO ATTEMPT SUCCEEDING OBASEKI - he should go to Senate first and once an Esan man is done with his 8 years then Shaibu can contest for Governor from Edo North - then he would have built a solid structure there, because Osho defeated him in Edo North last week, with 22,000 more votes so he has work to do if he has a future after being the deputy governor.

The difference between Obaseki result and Ize Iyamu is not like 10,000 votes or 23,000 votes that you can argue that 3 or 4 local government results were not consistent so that is why they are heading to supreme court to get a contrary verdict - the Gap is 84, 000

so where is Ize Iyamu going to get at least 80,000 votes that he was denied on election day to lay a strong case?

If Elections did not hold in at least 4 local government areas due to lack of availability of materials or violence then he may have a case
