Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has said the Igbo (IPOB) are being made to ‘suffer forever’ because of the 1967-1970 civil war.According to The Cable, Fayose also said acting President, Yemi Osinbajo, is doing his best to address some challenges in the country but needs to put in more efforts.

The governor appealed to the Federal Government to be fair and just to all ethnic groups in the country but opposed the main objective of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), saying secession is not an option.IPOB is in the frontline of the campaign to create an independent state for the Igbo.

“The acting president is doing his best but that is not enough. We must remember that those who make positive change impossible make violent change inevitable.“A situation where a section will be suffering forever because of their role in the civil war is not fair.“

As much as secession is not an option, the handlers of our democracy must be equitable, fair and just to everyone.“The Igbo have continued to suffer because of the perceived role of the late Ikemba Nnewi, Odumegwu Ojukwu. If we say past administrations did not do well, what has the present administration done differently?“I agree that secession is not desirable but, there must be justice and equity.

On Saturday, June 17, 2017 emergency officials from Lagos state fire service battled hard to put out a serious fire that engulfed the Lagos home of former Chief of General Staff during the Sanni Abacha regime, Gen. Oladipo Diya (Rtd).

The cause of the sudden fire at the house located on Adekunle Fajuyi road, GRA, Ikeja Lagos is yet to be unraveled, but the timely intervention of the emergency officials saved the house being entirely razed and so far no casualty has been reported.

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia state has dismissed the state executive council, including commissioners and special advisers as well as senior special assistants.

The Permanent Secretary, Government House, Mr. Onyii Wamah, announced the dissolution in a statement posted on the government’s website on Friday night.
 
According to the permanent secretary, the governor retained his Chief of Staff, Mr. Sunny Nwakodo, Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Obinna Oriaku and Commissioner for Justice and Attorney-General of the state, Chief Umeh Kalu (SAN).
 
No reason was given for the dissolution but there are speculations that it was after the commissioners and other officials presented their scorecards at a forum attended by the governor between May 28 and May 29.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has blacklisted 48 Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres over their involvement in extortion and organised examination malpractices during the 2017 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

Is-haq Oloyede, JAMB registrar, made the disclosure on Wednesday in Abuja at a news conference at the end of an enlarged meeting with external examiners and other stakeholders in the conduct of the 2017 UTME. Oloyede, who also announced the cancellation of the results of 59,698 candidates who sat for the examination, said another 24 CBT centres had been suspended for one year for failing to live up to expectations.

“The (24 CBT) centres will not participate in the 2018 UTME, but they can be reconsidered for 2019 and above. “The delisting of 48 centres from participating in the board’s examination in future is as a result of serious technical deficiencies, extortion, organised examination malpractices and other damaging infractions.”

He said that JAMB had fixed July 1, 2017 as the date for supplementary examination for candidates who registered late for this year’s UTME.Oloyede added that some of the candidates whose results were cancelled, would also take part in the rescheduled exam.

The JAMB boss said the decision to allow the candidates sit for the rescheduled examination was reached after a thorough review of all the reports that emanated from their centres. According to him, 1,386 candidates have their results cancelled over examination malpractice; 57,646 results were also affected as a result of centres-induced malpractices while the results of 666 candidates were cancelled due to multiple examinations

I was the one driving and our target was to kill Young Shall Grow’s driver and his police orderly. Hunch Man, Uche Nnamdi and Nwoke were carrying guns and they were the people who fired at Young Shall Grow. Hunch Man and Uche were killed during the attack, while Nnamdi, Nwoke and I survived.

A man was killed in Delta State following a land dispute which escalated. For years, the Amai and Umuebu communities in Ndokwa West, Delta state, have been at loggerheads over a land. This dispute has now culminated in the death of a man in the most gruesome way.

According to a post shared by Austyne Emu, who is resident in Delta, the corpse seen without a head and hands is one of the victims of the land dispute - a dispute which over the years has led to the death of many.

A woman met her untimely demise at a hotel in Enugu shortly after she checked in with her lover on June 2nd. The deceased, identified as Mrs. Ifeyinwa Udeh of Ugboezeji Abakpa Nike Enugu state, complained of ill health while they were at the hotel then collapsed.

According to the report by Coal City Connect, Joel Ugwu checked into a hotel around Nowas Junction of Transekulu  Enugu state with Mrs. Udeh. Woman dies.

Later that day, after she had a bottle of malt and bottled water which he bought for her, she complained that she did not feel well. She became unconscious and was rushed to St Leo’s hospital Transekulu at about 11:15 p.m. but was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty.

The Borno state Police command says 17 persons were killed and 24 persons were injured in the attacks carried out by Boko Haram members in Maiduguri, Borno state on Wednesday June 7th. On Sunday, June 4, Pastor Azigiza of Living Streams International Church in Accra, Ghana held a thanksgiving service for Chelsea Football Club following the triumphant win of the Premier Leauge trophy. A child trafficker, 22-year-old woman arrested by the Special Armed Robbery Squad (SARS) of the Anambra State Police Command has confessed to having sold 20 children since she went into child trafficking business. Most of the children she sold between N150,000 - N200,000, were kidnapped on their way home from school.

The suspect, Chinaza Onwuasoanya was impregnated by her boyfriend in Lagos and returned to Anambra State to have the baby after which she sold the child to a 45-year-old woman, Goodness, who runs an orphanage, which the police allege was a cover for a baby trafficking operation.

Onwuasoanya sold her newborn baby girl to Goodness, in exchange for the sum of N150,000. realizing that she could make easy money from selling children, she moved into child-trafficking. Recounting her journey into child-trafficking, Onwuasoanya told Sunday Sun, she said:
