Something is wrong with the system... we kinda accept that other teams should dictate the tempo of the game. We set up two deep banks of 4 a d they to hit the opposition with counter attacks. That is not a system for a top club, mid table and relegation candidates can play like that with no problem.

If we are not careful we are going to end up like AC Milan, that is if we are not already in the same boat. Most of our players do not care, especially that IG model called Pogba. Maybe when we lose 25% of Adidas money and UCL money consistently something will be done.

We are 2-0 down and we are still defending very deep, the blame cannot be on just the players. Something is seriously wrong, either the players are not playing to instruction or the manager is clueless. Since the FA cup loss to Wolves, we have stopped pressing and we have reverted to zero tackling in the opposition half and just setting up two deep banks of 4.

My verdict,

1. Appoint a Director of football by May, do a systematic cleansing, at least 5 players this window and another 5 by December.

2. SACK Ole and all the coaching staff (seems like they favour them old boys) and get a coach with a proper attacking system... Poch or the Ajax manager, Erik Ten Hag (he spent sometime at Bayern)

3. Restructure the wage bill of the club, too many average players earning above their level. Contract rebels, lazy and uninterested mofos, money hungry players, IG models etc like Pogba, Martial, and De Gea should be sold.

4. Forget about top 4 for at least 2 seasons.

5. Recruit young talented and hungry players ready to play with their skills and heart between the age of 20 and 24. These players should be recruited based on a philosophy agreed by the club, director of football and manager.

Like a lot of peeps have mentioned, we should not wholeheartedly judge OGS by results of this season as he has to weed out them deadwood and pensioners in the team. Nevertheless, that does not explain why Ashley Young is always on the team serving crap or why we decided to sit very deep and defend against a Barca team that are not so strong defensively at the beginning of the game. They conceded 4 goals against relegation threatened Villarreal and an average Real Betis side.

Lastly, we didn't sack Mou to see the team go back to defending deep and playing counter-attacking football. The system worked against Spurs and PSG albeit with some good fortune.

Typical canopy analysis, a characteristic was analysed purely on stat over a period of time and you compare it with eye witness account. Did you watch all of the games played by Ounas or Chukwubueze over that period of time?

For that characteristic to have been classified as a weakness they must have lost the ball at a relatively high percentage. I am pretty sure that whoscored algorithm would have taken into consideration that attackers tend to lose the ball often as they tend to take on defenders more that other players. The likes of Lucas Muora, Leroy Sane, Rashford, Anthony Martial, Eden Hazard and Sterling take on and run at defenders at a rate similar to Ounas and Chukwubueze and they do not have the "holding on to the ball" characteristic at weak on whoscored. Therefore your excuse is out of the window.
