We diasporians must serve an apprenticeship in Nigeria before we can hope to lead. But that's beside the point. Most diasporians fall flat on their faces even before being nominated to run for posts in parties. You just need know the numerous Nigerians who ran home to contest elections to know this. Most are back in the diaspora they came from lamenting how foolish they were to be so easily separated from their money by more wily savvy Nigerians.

You see, diasporians kind of have expectations of life working like it does in diaspora and fail to understand that Nigerians do not think nor reason like diasporians.

A Nigerian, for instance, will rely much on their Gods that tend to be outside of themselves, while those the diasporian works with in diaspora would more likely rely on the Holy Spirit that God put inside of themselves. So while the Nigerian will be waiting for God their master to do the work for them, those the diasporian works with abroad will be making God work for them like God is their slave unlike the Nigerian who seems to be enslaved to their God.

Can you therefore see how the diasporian might find it difficult to lead those who obey their Gods as opposed to those who order their Gods to obey them like they might be use to in diasporia?

So, perhaps a caveat. A diasporian who understands Nigeria, though, personally, a Nigerian from just about anywhere, including Nigeria, with knowledge of human nature, will be the best candidate to lead.
