Greedy ke,lol.I am waiting for them .I hope to still reinvest it in sugar next yr before any major news. The rice will add serious value to the company because it is essential in the present population. And food is basic necessity. I pray the production capacity will be high and have good security
Bought some DangSugar earlier.
Rice investments in Nigeria are not looking as attractive anymore since ban on rice imports have now been removed.

Good day house. Seeking your opinion on an investment I made.
I did TB with zenith bank around Nov at 9.7% as I thought rate will nosedive below that by the end of the year. Now rate is around 16%. Is it wise to end the TB investment (Taking my loss) and reinvest it hoping rate will be around 16% or more. I've been calculating but the maths is just messing my head up.
Amount invested is XX,000,000
Around November last year? or earlier this month?
If it is last year, it should have matured so you get your money back

I did not buy Sukuk @15.75 cos I don't want too much bonds in my portfolio. Trying to keep bonds to a minimum since i'm still young.
Now what stocks are underpriced and have potential?
I am thinking of just buying some Presco and DangSugar. Any thoughts?

Brokers don't pay dividends, registrars do. Fill e-dividend forms for each of the registrars where you have outstanding and scan back to them for processing and payment.
Yeah, but the difference here is I never have to fill any form with Trove.
I use Meristem/trade for majority of my shares though. But I'd have wished they can collect the details in a form electronically and submit it to the registrars on customer's behalf.

This would improve the User experience significantly.

I will rather deal with licensed firms with known addresses in Nigeria and verifiable on sec, than all these online third parties
In my case, I get dividends for the stock I have on trove within few days of payment. Licensed apps like Meristem (Meritrade) never pay my dividends unless I write long emails and fill forms.
Actually, my Zenith dividends for last year is still with Meritrade. Some hundreds of thousands which they haven't paid me. I filled forms for UCAP but I hate that I have to fill it for each stock I own.

Politics / Re: Marketers Disagree With Taiwo Oyedele On Refineries Sale by Olaide1295: 10:45am On Oct 03, 2023
The refineries should be sold off. The government will NEVER know how to run a refinery and it will only fail again in the long run.
Even in the short term, it will only become another subsidy as some people will use it to steal government funds.
Don't bother trying to run it again, just selloff 80% stake to Nigerian investors and hold only 20% minority stake.
Hopefully the govt listens.

I come again to quote you now as dollar has eventually touched 1k cheesy

Are you still holding unto your hypothesis that the true value of dollar below 700?

I was thinking 1k5 will happen in 2025 but the way it is going by mid 2024, we will likely be seeing 1k5.

Of course I still hold some naira invested in stocks where profit can beat devaluation, I however do not have blind optimism that naira will be stable in the next 2 years.

Believing that the corrupt government of APC will stabilize the naira is like hoping the Atlantic will turn to dry land cheesy

When I saw that your post. I changed significant amount of my dollars to Naira (at 720) and bought a duplex house in Nigeria.
I made a terrible mistake. Being outside naija, I don’t even live in the house and it gives me no return.

I av been following NTB since 2015 & had my 1st investmt in it in 2016. Based on 2015 & this year's transitions, i observed political transition does help NTB rate rebound. My previous investmt (359 days @5%) matured 10th of last month. Since then, i av been waiting 4 d rate to go up. Now dt we saw d surging rate dipped by around 2%, do u see d rate already reached its peak compared to 2015/16 dt it rose to about 20% ? Do u see d rate recovered & goes up much higher in d coming weeks? Pls, pardon my "paragraghlessness". I typed with a small button phone

5% return seems small to me. With a period of 1 year in mind, the minimum returns anyone should be looking for should be 10%.
Depending on your risk profile, mmf or corporate bonds should give better returns. I don't know whether TB rates will increase. Ogas can help on that.

Yes you do. Don't make assumptions. Go ask anyone who has actually left the shores of that country with a family to tell you the truth. The day you register your marriage in the courts is the day the courts officially recognizes it as having begun. undecided
I’m in Europe. I moved here with my family.
You don’t need a court marriage as proof. A Nikkah/Church wedding certificate works.
