@everyone,
I have been studying the effects of QE on the US and world economy. How this will eventually affect Nigeria and our foreign debts.
Also stumbled upon explanations on the rise and falls of World reserve currencies (Guilder, Pounds, Dollars).

Founder of Bridgewater and Billionaire, Ray Dalio is writing a book. You can read here

Sorry but how is global warming and its effect on Central London related to excessive flooding that affects the houses in the Lekki axis? Just asking for a curious friend.
There have been reports of rising water levels all over the world caused by global warming.
Water level in Lagos is also rising. There are other contributory factors too like land filling.

Like she said, this article mentions Lagos is a sinking city.

Asking as someone who wants to know, how does NHIS cover folks in the informal sector. motorists and market traders for instance.

And I think it's wrong to keep saying np country taxed people at the point of purchase of goods. I have cited an example of the gas tax in some US states. That voids that argument already.

Is the MTN recharge card suggestion not already being implemented in the banking sector? When you make a transfer of above 10k, you get charged 50 naira. The banks don't own the money, they remit to Government.
The only difference I see is that the Telco charge will be for a specific purpose. In this case, Health insurance.

You cannot revolt in my territory. You can protest peacefully not revolt.
How do I do this?By making the military and security forces attractive and very well equipped.
All this funds will come from the money wasting sectors I will crush to pieces, such as subsidy, eduction, health and the rest.
Humans are eccentric in nature and trust me,when I give the military personnel a deal of good salary(400k+) as basic salary, free healthcare in military hospitals for them and their immediate family, and free good schools for their children, trust me they will defend my agenda with their lives and make sure no bastard masses take away what I am giving them with their bullshit entitlement mentality.
So if you revolt, sorry is your name.
Core capitalist. Pay soldiers 400k+ per month and they won’t go to war anymore.
They’d rather stay at home and enjoy fat salary. Moderation and shared vision is important

Can't one use UIpath for same thing?
I’d have preferred API. If investing.com changes their frontend layout, the Uipath process/bot would not work.

Oga, give yourself sense abeg. That’s how people blindly defend corrupt politicians and yahoo boys. I have more receipts though. Don’t make me embarrass that guy please. Do you want me to now tell you where he works too? I am actually resisting the urge to shalaye o.

Use your brain. Someone has a 5m life savings in Tbills and is looking for a way out of Naija through admission to a dubious school in Ireland. A week later he then claims to have 50 trucks and 5 filling stations. You don’t need to be a smart guy to decode that rubbish.

Do you think we care if Ahib is a millionaire or not? I personally don't.
What we know is, he is knowledgeable on economic information, evident from what I have personally learnt reading his posts and from testimonials from other people.
Even if he ever lied, people's respect for him transcends that he (allegedly) said he owns 50 trucks. There is also a context to why he said whatever he said.
I really don't understand why you keep calling him out. Ignore what you don't agree with. No one who frequents here need be told to be wary of scams/lies.
@Lazyouth4u, keep your receipts to yourself. Its none of our business

What do you mean they have not? The hashtag was endsars, it has ended. You brought 5 point demand, it has been adopted.
What else?
Even the US did not succumb to the demands of "Blacklifematters" as the Nigerian government have done.

LIke I said, you guys just want anarchy or perhaps it is just for clout so that you guys can lie to you grand children with pictures that you were the hero of an endsars protest many years ago
You say the 5 point demand has been adopted. Check image below.

I also pay millions in taxes in the form of duties and all what not and I am sure there are plenty of people who also pay millions in taxes you and your protesters are disturbing from doing their legit businesses, when funny enough all demands have been met.why protest again and fund terrorism?
How sure are you that the funds meant for that Ibadan based guy that died in the protest is going to get to him?
I mean anyone can easily divert it to buy weapons instead. undecided

Those people being blocked from going about their business stay hours in traffic everyday. So nothing new. I saw many of them hailing protesters as they pass. Protests are temporary but you prefer to leave a government that can make permanent changes be.

The breakdown of how the monies are spent is being transparently shared everyday and I saw video of the parents of the Ibadan based guy appreciating the token. I also saw people being fed with the money. Its more judiciously spent than my taxes which is embezzled by politicians and use to "re-absorb" former Boko-haram terrorists.

Flutterwave, a business that got license from the CBN use the small donations to buy weapons??
And then the customs officers let it come in? Dead this terrorism talk abeg. People know what they are protesting for.

The CEO of Twitter, Jack Dorsey just tweeted support for the EndSars cause.

https://www.channelstv.com/2020/10/14/twitter-ceo-jack-dorsey-backs-nigerias-endsars-protest-calls-for-bitcoin-donations/

Truthfully, SARS has been disbanded, the protests will die a natural death once Police stops shooting.
Else, it becomes a national movement, may get violent and could cause civil unrest.

What exactly were you funding if I may ask?
This same money can be used to purchase weapons to turn this country upside down.
Also, you lots have opened the floor for Arab extremist,Europeans and war profiteers to also fund terrorism.
Why una dull like this?
Buhari is being incompetent right now, else now is the time to show military might and gallantry, come on!
No fuçking negotiations since as no one can effectively negotiate with terrorists.

I am funding to support the family of Jimoh Isiaq, the boy that was killed unjustly by the Police.
I am funding to provide food for the people who leave the comfort of their houses to stage a peaceful protest against a lawless police unit.
I am funding for a better future and so that I don't get killed tomorrow for being a young man who has an iPhone

I pay Millions in taxes to Lagos state Government, i think i deserve to be safe.

You ask why I am dull? Can we have an objective discussion please. Leave my "dullness" out of this

How about a reorganisation

Empower EFCC with more resources to tackle these boys

And investigations and indictment should come BEFORE arrest
Like it's done in other civilised climes.

Look at how Hushpuppi and other rogues have been caught by other countries

Indictment came BEFORE arrest

Why do we like doing things in yeye fashion in Nigeria

We don’t even want a re-organization of SARS. The officials are used to easy money. It’s only a matter of days before they come out extorting innocent people again.
I pay well over 100k in income taxes to the Government monthly. I work legitimately as an Engineer. Yet, I am afraid of walking around my neighborhood or driving. They continually harass and might just kill if you don’t settle them.

It's been a long time coming. Market has been way too low and this bull was long overdue.

I think CBN sorting FX palaver helped in getting investors to throw in funds.
Local investors do not have the muscle to move the market yet substantially. Once we get to that level, we will have more frequent upward and downward swing.

Expecting some pull back today.
I’m trying to understand the cause of this bull run.
Is it foreign investors or PFAs. Is Forex now accessible?

Could you please provide a link to the second info. These FX reforms are getting interesting.

A friend who has dollars at GTB mentioned it to me and then it started today. The bank said it’s a CBN policy.

Many news coming in today.

First, that CBN has reduced the MPR to 11.5% (from 12.5%). Immediate effect is that interest on Savings deposits falls to 1.15 per annum.

Second, that owners of dollars in DOM accounts can't do FX transfers again. They are now being compelled to sell to the bank.

I will never come here and give anyone advice on investments. Why should I? I leave people to make their decisions. None of my business at all. But when I see BS I will call it BS and that lamba master chairman is full of BS. All lies.

Listen, it’s rough out there and few people are making money in this economy. Anyone that tells you otherwise is lying to you. Do you know why Tbill yields keep falling, large companies and financial institutions are staying away from the real sector and all chasing safe T-bill investments. Just let that sink in and you will understand where I’m coming from.

The guys that know the market and have the means are laying low for now for a reason. It’s really a messed up time for investors all over the world. Only the bravest are making moves and of course it will work for some but many of the brave ones will unfortunately lose it all. Will a risk averse investor take that chance with his savings? Do you think anyone looking for risky investments will be on a T Bill thread? Think!

Guy, you signed up two months ago and you're here insulting people.
I have been here learning for years now. You don't have to agree with other people's comment. In fact, you can drop objective counter opinions (without insults). We are reading from you and no knowledge is lost.
We don't care about Olosho or BBN so far you are able to contribute effectively.

@Ahib is a respected man on this thread and I have personally gained much from him. The "Real economy vs Fixed income/Govt. securities" conversation has been had here already. You can check older pages and learn if you will.

Better for the economy does not mean safer for investors. Listening to diverse opinions is a form of investing due dilligence

Lets keep the conversation matured and educating.

First of all I resigned and not retired as I went into private investments. I'm still young if i want to keep flying for the next 30 years.

Secondly, i did not mention Ethiopian Airline, and Airline industry as a whole generates more than $800 billion dollars revenue annually, it's very profitable and majority, if not you won't see people trying to invest in it.

An investment that returns you 9% averagely each year is a good investment, some make far more than that, now check if you invested $1billion and after expenses and tax you still get $90m, is that not good ROI?

An active investment that returns 9% in Nigeria is not very profitable.
If you took a bank loan, then you’re at a loss already. Without even thinking about inflation.

Is 400 cheap? Bros, na lack of creativity abeg nothing to do with cheap. Cheap is just an excuse
400 is truly not cheap.

I am a believer that Nigerians do not deserve products if they cannot produce it. If Nigeria cannot manufacture a car, then Nigerians don't deserve it.
The cost of such product should be prohibitively high that people are forced to manufacture locally. This will also spur FDI.

Right now, we think we deserve cars and fancy imports but it's the Niger-delta oil that is subsidizing the entire economy.
