PheelzAlmighty:Foolish unseriousness like this should be shunned in our society. It’s looks like a joke to you but serious businesses are made from simple things. Nigeria spends billion of USD importing Keke Napeps yearly and our people take loans to buy it yet you are making it into a joking matter. 38 Likes 1 Share |

Lovely. Performance management is crucial for Nigeria civil servants to improve their accountability and productivity. Gone should be the days of resuming work at 11:00am and leaving by 1:00pm, yet doing nothing. 1 Like |

LandMann: The problem with people like you is that you don't actually take a step back to think carefully and study how economies grow. You have sentiments and it shows in your words. What you call unfair labor practices is only because you think the company is making money. How does paying people what the market dictates enslavement. Have you not seen Chinese people working in the sun morning and night for cheap pay, the chinese government holds trillions of dollars in the US. If it was left to entitled people like you, why would the government have money and let people work that hard. You would ask the govt to share money so people live more comfortable lives (Short term thinking). Again, go to Dubai and see Indians and Pakistanis working hard in the 40 degree sun. But you want to have it easy because you think the company is making money without once taking a good look at the numbers in Dollar value (Capital was imported in dollars). You are focusing on the naira billions you are seeing rather than compare the labor competitiveness. Same local labor that steal from their employers. Go read the industrialization of America and see the thousands of people that died to make it possible. People died in coal mines, in factories etc. To be clear, I am not advocating for low wages, all I am saying is that economics is self regulating. Wages will grow naturally as productivity and demand for labor increase (See China for example). You socialists will think you are helping the country, but in your wanton desire for immediate wage growth without commensurate increase in productivity. You are destroying the economy and pointing fingers at others. 1 Like 1 Share |
Politics / Re: FAAC Distributes ₦2.07 Trillion For February, 2024 by Olaide1295: 4:07pm On Mar 19 |
Ogun state receives one of the lowest in the country. Yet pays so much in VAT. The sharing formula is a scam. BTW, the South south states of Akwa Ibom, Delta, Bayelsa and Rivers are cashing out big big. I hope they hold their Governors to account. 8 Likes 1 Share |
Business / Re: Ownership Of Oil Palm Giant, Presco Returns To Nigeria After 33-Years by Olaide1295: 3:39pm On Mar 19 |
LandMann:The North star of businesses is productivity. You only see the profit, not the capital investment. If a company is really making humongous profit, they will double down on expansion and increase capacity. You don't need to tell them to increase staff salary as that will naturally happen so they can be competitive in the labor market. It's socialists like you that got us into the trouble we are in as a nation. Thinking printing money or increasing wages leads to better lives. It only increases inflation. What everyone should be concerned about is productivity. |

Politics / Re: Gov Eno’s Bold move to reduce the Prices of Staple Food in Akwa Ibom State by Olaide1295: 9:57am On Feb 20 |
People will love this but it will cause a problem in the long term. There is no increase in supply of food. Just using government money to buy in bulk and drive prices up for other states. Subsidies are simply not sustainable. A sustainable move will be to use that money for mechanized farming that will employ people, produce more food and naturally reduce food prices (due to increased supply). ONLY increase in supply of food will reduce prices. 12 Likes 2 Shares |

Entered Nigeria from Manchester recently (2024) with my expired passport. No issues except that I couldn't check in online with Egypt air. At MMIA: Immigration: Are you aware your passport is expired. Me: Yes, I will renew it while being here. Immigration: Alright, you can go. Me: Thanks. No Naira spent. No one asked me for a Kobo at the airport. I took Uber to the train station and connected my destination. Easy peasy. 3 Likes |

Politics / Re: FAAN Confirms Relocation Of Headquarters To Lagos, Gives Reasons by Olaide1295: 10:55pm On Jan 18 |
The decision to relocate the FAAN corporate headquarters from Abuja to Lagos, as explained in this press release, appears to be a well-considered and practical move. The reasons provided, including the lack of office space in Abuja, the cost implications of duty tour allowance, and the need to manage resources efficiently, demonstrate a commitment to responsible and transparent governance. The assurance that the Authority will continue to act in the best interest of the public and the country, as well as the commitment to building befitting corporate offices in both Lagos and Abuja, further emphasizes a forward-thinking approach. The consideration of operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness aligns with responsible stewardship of public funds. It's encouraging to see a focus on the long-term plan. 21 Likes 1 Share |

Religious people use it to create an impression of depth without providing any clear or meaningful contribution to the conversation. Just thought to point that out. Privatisation was not properly done. The TCN which is a major player is still owned by the government and run inefficiently. The major problem however, is that the market is not allowed to dictate the prices that electricity is traded at. 2 Likes |
