Love Machine:Our women fake too many things these days |
Harassment in the place of work is one of the most common challenges a lot of people face. Despite being a major problem in many offices, organizations and governments have not been able to do more than they have been doing to put a stop to it. If you have been facing all sorts of intimidation at work; then you are probably not alone as hundreds of thousands of employees are going through similar pains. Here are five tips to help you figure out how to deal with harassment at work. 1. Keep your mind open that one of these tips might work for you: It is important to keep your mind open and not conclude that you stand no chance of dealing with sexual harassment at work with these tips. You probably might have heard a lot of people say it is not easy to deal with this problem; well these are tips that have worked for a lot of people, and I am sure it would work for you if you implement them properly. However, it is important to address the harasser and make your stand clear to him/her before taking further steps to deal with it. 2. Understand what workplace harassment is: You have to understand what workplace harassment is. Most Nigerian workers only view workplace harassment from the perspective of sex—“my boss wants to sleep with me…” Office or workplace harassment could include, but not limited to the following: experiencing repeated unwelcome, intimidating, threatening, or humiliating behaviour to verbal insults, offensive emails or phone messages, withholding of information, unjustified criticism, spreading gossip, and discrimination. 3. Try to understand your level of interaction with difficult colleagues/boss: Sometimes your personalities such as insecurities, fears, and past experiences affect how you define and deal with harassment at work. To stop being harassed sexually or in any way, you need to find out what role you are playing at work. 4. Get proofs of harassment: We now live in a world where technology has simplified a lot of things. One of the reasons why sexual or any form of office harassment has remained a problem all these years is lack of or inadequate evidence. Even if you can’t afford an iWatch, you can get yourself a conversation recorder app and have it installed on your smartphone or mobile phone. You can record telephone conversation between you and the harasser or record office conversation too. You can also ask a loyal colleague who is also being harassed to help you out with as witness. 5. Talk to your partner/counsellor: This is not an invitation for your partner or counsellor to get directly involved with the situation in the office; but to keep your options open. Some men don’t like being kept in the dark when things like this happen to their spouses in the office. Like I said, harassment is a terrible thing, and should not be encouraged in whatever guise it presents itself. Deal with it as soon as possible; but be wise about it. http://iyandasdiary.com/5-tips-to-help-you-deal-with-harassment-in-the-office/ |
Unlike women, men always put up this superman look that makes you think they are never hurt by things that hurt the opposite sex. Nonetheless, all men have hearts and emotions, and feel some measure of hurts sometimes in their life. They suffer heartbreaks; even if they don’t let it show same way women let theirs flow. A lot of women have lost the peace they once had in their home and relationship because they took certain things about their partners for granted. Did you know that pushing your man until he has his back against the wall can drive him out and into the arms of another woman? There are certain things you should never do or should do to keep your man happy all the time. When a man is happy, there is so much peace and comfort in a relationship. Have a look at these five things you must never do to your man if you want a happy home and relationship: 1. Never relegate him to the background: A lot of ladies do this, especially after having a couple of kids. The man is soon relegated to the back seat as soon as some women start having babies. A man wants to be treated like a king and regardless of how much he loves his child; he still wants to retain his rightful place in your life. 2. Never take his love for granted: Naturally women are more emotional than men; but women love to think that men don’t deserve to be loved same way. Love him just as much as he deserves if you don’t want his attention drawn elsewhere. 3. Never make nagging a habit of yours: Not every woman nags, but the ones who do are terrible at doing it. How about showing him some care and kindness when he gets back from work tired and badly in need of a cool shower? Stop reviving dead and buried issues that have been relegated to the background. A man wants to move on to more important and productive argument and discussion; let him have the peace he so much desires. 4. Never put him on the spot: Women sometimes can be curious about everything a man does. If you keep probing and asking funny questions about his whereabouts and why he decides to take a particular routes or call a particular number for example; then you are acting like he is always in some kind of interview. 5. Don’t always insist on having the last say: Some women like to have the final say every time there is an argument with their husbands—this is not the perfect way to build a home. Give him some honour by letting him have the last word on major family issues sometimes; after all, he is the head of the family. http://iyandasdiary.com/5-things-you-must-never-do-to-your-man-if-you-want-a-happy-home/ |
There have been some impressive Nigerian players in the past – Jay-Jay Okocha and Nwankwo Kanu immediately spring to mind – but now the Super Eagles are laying the foundations for an incredibly bright future. It has been difficult to avoid the Nigerian influence in the Premier League this season, with Odion Ighalo scoring freely for Watford, while John Obi Mikel has recently re-established himself as a reliable performer at the base of Chelsea’s midfield. But it is looking at the country’s prospects for the future that there is most excitement. Two of Nigeria’s biggest starlets have been on the fringes of proceedings for Manchester City and Arsenal respectively this season, with Kelechi Iheanacho and Alex Iwobi both highly regarded by both club and country. Both players have already made their senior debuts for Nigeria, but it is at club level where they have made the most significant impact. Last Saturday seemed to be a pivotal day in the careers of both starlets. While Iheanacho was enhancing his rapidly growing reputation by scoring a hat-trick for City against Aston Villa in the FA Cup, Iwobi, in his new position of central-midfield, was producing a terrific performance for Arsenal against Burnley in the same competition. City have so much faith in Iheanacho’s ability that they elected not to sign an additional forward during the January transfer window, with the prospect, who has an average shot accuracy of 60% in the Premier League this season, considered by manager Manuel Pellegrini to be good enough to make a substantial impact at the highest level of the game despite his lack of experience. Iwobi, meanwhile, has been racking up the minutes for Arsenal and has made four Premier League appearances so far, registering an average pass accuracy of 90%. An intriguing prospect, he rose through the ranks as a winger but has adapted seamlessly to playing in central-midfield and is likely to be loaned out at some point next season. Iwobi is likely to be joined by two more talented young Nigerians at Arsenal soon, with Kelechi Nwakali and Samuel Chukwueze set to seal moves to the club. The pair, an attacking midfielder and left winger respectively, shone as Nigeria won the U17 World Cup last year and are seen as being the tip of the iceberg with regards to the country’s ever-growing list of talents for the future. During the recent transfer window, CSKA Moscow forward Ahmed Musa was linked with several major clubs, with the 23-year-old having made a considerable impact for the Russian team. Musa is already the captain of the Nigeria national team and seems set for a move to a more high-profile side in the not too distant future. There is a growing body of evidence to suggest that Nigeria are making excellent progress in their youth development. But the most encouraging aspect is that these players are highly regarded by English clubs, who aren’t afraid to provide the prospects with an opportunity to impress. It will take much more work to transform Nigeria into a nation that is capable of competing for honours on the world stage, but the Super Eagles are certainly moving in the right direction, with the future of their national side looking very bright indeed. http://www.squawka.com/news/iwobi-iheanacho-musa-nigerias-re-emergence-as-a-hotbed-for-young-talent/591083
