eph12:Okay i agree with you . Note:Card Readers were apparently failing often at a polling booth near an Accenture staff's home. And the guy couldn't understand why...cos the readers were all new. So he approached the INEC woman. Inspected the reader. Only to find the protective film on the lense of the reader had not been removed. After a protracted argument he convinced the woman to remove it. The reader not only read the prior rejected cards, it was reading with even faster response time. Please share. It could help a lot. |

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has issued a strong warning to those who may be planning to thwart the will of the people, by announcing cooked up result of Saturday's general elections and then unleashing armed troops against those who may protest the fake result, to desist from such an anti-democratic and anarchic plot. In a statement issued in Lagos on Friday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party said the plan by some desperate politicians to discountenance the votes of the people and announce a pre-written result giving victory to President Jonathan with just under 2 million votes, to make it look credible, should be discarded. ''As the President himself said in his national broadcast on Friday, 'the will of the people freely expressed through the ballot is the bedrock of all democracies and ours cannot be an exception.' We sincerely hope the President means those words and will allow the will of the people to prevail, irrespective of the outcome of the elections,'' it said. APC expressed serious concerns at the secret meetings being held or planned across the country to rig the elections, as well as the violence being unleashed on the opposition, especially in Rivers, Sokoto and the South-west, among others, using thugs in uniform, backed by policemen and soldiers. The party said the electoral officials should be left to do their work unhindered, instead of the efforts being made by the PDP to compromise them. ''In Ondo, we have been reliably informed that one Dayo Fadahunsi, SA to the State Governor on Labour, is coordinating a clandestine meeting on Friday evening with 12 Electoral Officers as well as the Administration Secretary of INEC in the state. There is also another meeting, also on Friday in Imeri, involving the Chief of Staff to the President, the DG of the National Sports Commission and Mr. Bode Olajumoke with four Electoral Officers (EOs) for the Akoko Local Government and Ose ''In Ekiti, the EO of Ise-Orun is facilitating a meeting of all the other EOs in the state with Gov. Ayodele Fayose today, Friday, while in Osun, one Prince Fadahunsi is the arrowhead of another clandestine meeting that involves Senator Iyiola Omisore, Mr. Wale Oke and Dr. Olu Alabi. ''In Rivers, all 23 EOs are billed to meet with Mr. Peter Odili today, while a plot has been hatched to foment trouble in Obiakor, Okrika and Ommuma. For Bayelsa, a meeting was held at Bayelsa Governor's Lodge in Abuja on Monday, coordinated by former INEC Chairman Maurice Iwu and Barrister Azaga, the Resident Electoral Commissioner for Bayelsa. They have recruited and deployed 36 former/retired INEC staff, representing one per state, to have access to INEC facilities especially Collation Centres to rig the elections. They are being accompanied by a Special Task Force of Security men to each state,'' it said. APC said all the devilish moves by those who are bent on rigging the elections and plunging the nation into crisis are being closely monitored by Nigerians themselves, hence there will be no hiding place for any election rigger and trouble maker. Gunmen believed to be thugs of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have attacked Lagos state Commissioner for Transportation, Kayode Opeifa, injuring at least one person as at the time of this report. A source close to the incident told PM News that the gunmen who were on rampage in Agege, first attacked Agege Local Government where council staff were holding a vigil ahead of the presidential election. The source said shortly after that, they allegedly attacked the Independent National Electoral Commission’s office in Agege. The source could not confirm if electoral materials were carted away. http://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2015/03/28/gunmen-shoot-at-opeifas-house-injures-one/ |

agos state, Nigeria’s most economically important state could determine who emerges winner of the 2015 presidential election. In a poll conducted by PM News, Lagos was voted as the state that will decide the election following political analysis that five states that could decide the outcome of the election are, Lagos, Rivers, Kaduna, Kano and Borno. The leading candidates, President Goodluck Jonathan of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and General Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) go head-to-head on Saturday 28 March and should keep their eye on Lagos. Below is an analysis of the poll. http://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2015/03/27/lagos-state-will-decide-presidential-election-poll/ |
Governor Ayodele Fayose has moved to the next stage of his plan to cause mayhem designed to help him win election in Ekiti State. Fayose held a meeting at the government house with members of his Vigilante under the leadership of Femi Ogunleye alias Akilapa and truck drivers. He gave them an unspecified sum of money and ask them to start burning houses of some members of the opposition in the state capital overnight. They are also to attack some INEC offices in some local governments and destroy election materials. This is to create an artificial atmosphere of insecurity to cause fear in the minds of the electorates so as to keep them away from polling units. The thugs dressed in fake police uniforms and working with his vigilante group and truck drivers, will swoop on local Govts and wards where INEC voting materials are kept and then set them ablaze. APC members are advised to move in groups of 30 or 40 people to repel these attacks. Members are advised to organise themselves in large numbers and keep vigil on facilities where voting materials are kept and their houses. We call on security agents to be on the alert and apprehend these hoodlums who are bent on subverting the electoral process. We call on electorates not to exercise any fear but to come out en mass and vote for the candidates of their choice. This is the last desperate move by Fayose. Ekiti people need to mobilise to take their destinies from Fayose's dangerous palms. Taiwo Olatubosun APC State Publicity Secretary March 27, 2015 |
Hon. Emmanuel Deeyah, a former member of Federal House of Representatives and All Progressives Congress (APC) and a state agent along with two other APC agents have been arrested by a team of the Rivers state policeman. According to a statement signed by Mrs Ibim Semenitari, the Director of Communications for GreaterTogether campaign organization said the agents were arrested inside the INEC premises. It said that INEC invited all agents of the political parties for a preliminary election briefing for which Hon. Emma Deeyah, a two-term member of the House of Representatives and a former Commissioner in Rivers state went there as a stakeholder and chieftain of APC. According to the statement, sadly, it was an INEC staff that identified Hon. Deeyah to the policemen before he was immediately arrested and whisked away. When Hon. Deeyah insisted on knowing why he was been arrested, he was simply told that “Its CP’s Directive”. http://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2015/03/27/inec-staff-helps-police-arrest-detain-apc-agent/ |
