Barcelona have reportedly made contact with Cristiano Ronaldo as they explore a sensational transfer that could see two of the world’s greatest players become team-mates. The Portuguese superstar appears set to leave Juventus this summer following a disappointing season for the Serie A giants. They only just squeezed into the Champions League qualification places last term, with manager Andrea Pirlo ultimately losing his job. It has been a mixed spell in Italy for Ronaldo, with the star continuing to show why he is one of the world’s best players. But on top of missing out on the Serie A title this season, Juventus have also failed to progress past the quarter-final stages of the Champions League. Ronaldo has an uneasy relationship with new manager Max Allegri and with his contract entering its final year, Juve will have to sell this summer to recoup any of the £100million they paid for him. JUST IN: Cristiano Ronaldo's shirt number request after Man Utd 'offer' Barcelona 'make contact' over 'dream' Cristiano Ronaldo transfer and could include three players (Image: Getty Images) Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid have all been linked with moves for the 36-year-old, but a shocking new contender has now emerged. That contender is Barcelona, who know all about Ronaldo’s talents from his nine-year spell with Madrid. But despite the animosity between Barca and Madrid, AS report that the Catalan club are sizing up a move for Ronaldo. According to the report, club president Joan Laporta has already contacted Ronaldo over a move to the Nou Camp. A new contract for Messi is said to be “practically tied up”, with Laporta now turning his attention to adding a second superstar to Ronald Koeman’s squad. Ronaldo’s thoughts on such a move are unknown, with his agent Jorge Mendes yet to be brought into the discussions. But his time at Madrid did not end on good terms, potentially making the move not be as ridiculous as it may seem. Barca president Joan Laporta has approached Ronaldo over a deal (Image: Getty Images) With several clubs interested in signing Ronaldo this summer, Barcelona appear to possess a trump card, thanks to the expected clear out taking place. According to AS, it is expected they will offer Antoine Griezmann, Sergi Roberto and Phillipe Coutinho to Juve in exchange for Ronaldo. They do say that only two of those three will be offered, with the wages freed up set to be used for Ronaldo’s mega-money contract. The prospect of Ronaldo linking up with Messi is a mouth- watering one, with the duo still the best two players in the world.

SportsPresnel Kimpembe Says PSG Would Be "Happy To Welcome" Paul Pogba by Oldboss(op): 5:00pm On Jun 14, 2021
Paris Saint-Germain defender Presnel Kimpembe says any club would happily welcome his France teammate Paul Pogba. This comes as reports suggest the Manchester United star could be moving away from the Premier League club to link up with PSG. Pogba has muted rumours he will sign for the French club by saying any contact that has been made has reached his agent, not him. He has also pointed out he still has one year left on his contract for United and Kimpembe has said Pogba is more than capable of securing a deal wherever he wants one. Kimpembe said: "I didn't discuss [PSG] it with him. "He's a big boy, he doesn't need anyone to make up his mind. Any club would be happy to welcome him. "It only depends on him, his agent and his future club." However, earlier this month when Pogba, Kimpembe and Kingsley Coman faced the press they asked their teammate about where his future lies in club football. Kimpembe said "we're talking about Paris" with Coman adding "yeah, you're a Parisian aren't you?". Pogba responded "yeah so", Kimpembe continued to press saying "the transfer window is soon" and Coman added "Nasser [PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi], any contact?" The United man quickly shut down the conversation by replying "no" before leaving the situation with his teammates laughing. Will Pogba stay at Man Utd? Comment below Pogba signed for United in 2016 and while he has time on his deal left at the club, his agent Mino Raiola claimed earlier in the season the star isn't happy. He said: “I can say that it’s over for Paul Pogba at Manchester United. Better to speak clearly, look ahead and not waste time looking for culprits: Paul at Manchester United is unhappy, he is no longer able to express himself as he would like and as expected of him. “He has to change teams, he has to change the air. He has a contract that will expire in a year and a half, in the summer of 2022, but I think the best solution for the parties is to sell in the next market. "Otherwise, the Old Trafford club, with whom relations are excellent, knows well that they would risk losing him on a free transfer, given that for the moment it is not the player's intention to extend the contract. “If someone doesn't understand it, they understand very little about football. In any case, let them blame me if Paul leaves next summer." For now Pogba will concentrate on his job at hand, playing for France in the Euros. His team's opener will take place on Tuesday against Germany in what is being deemed the 'Group of Death'. France will also play Portugal and Hungary in the group stage. Follow

Philosopher1979:
That is good. The ironic thing is that focussing too much on
foreign born players may ruin our football. Our administrators will get
Lazy and ignore the talents in front of their house in Surulere or Mokola.
We will now be in a situation when we have to start begging foreign borns to play for us.
Home based player development should be the main thing.
It is a safe guarantee. If we dont develop the one at home, we will be reduced to beggers on the long run
It is good long term planning.

I believe in our Akinkunmi amoo's, Alfred Olaniyan (also in Hammary), Ibrahim Said, Adewale Oladoye etc than
anybody in Real Madrid. These foreign borns will simply dribble us and dissapoint us at the end of the day.
A bird in hand is better than 2 in the bush
An Abraham Marcus at hand is better than a Bukayo Saka in the bush
am not against developing home grown talent but maybe 2or 3 slot should be there for foreign national who want top play for us and are good
SportsJust In: Ronald Koeman’s Close Friend Confirms Depay Signing by Oldboss(op): 4:45pm On Jun 14, 2021
While the UEFA Euro 2020 may be going on in full flow, Barcelona are making quite a lot of progress in the transfer market as Joan Laporta & co. look to right the wrongs of the past and take the club back to its glory days. Barcelona have already completed three signings for this summer and it seems like the fourth one is also on its way. Indeed, as reported by La Porteria, journalist Lluis Canut, a close aide of the Catalans’ manager Ronald Koeman, has given away the identity of the next player set to arrive at Camp Nou. And, it is none other than Netherlands superstar Memphis Depay. The Olympique Lyon captain has been on the radars of Barcelona ever since Koeman was made the manager of the club last year. While a move for the Dutchman failed last summer, the Blaugrana have maintained their interest in him and are now close to getting their man. Depay is in the final weeks of his contract with Lyon and has confirmed that he will be leaving on a free transfer. While there has been plenty of interest from other clubs in the ex-Manchester United winger, a move to Camp Nou always seemed the most likely outcome, considering his past association with Koeman when the latter was the manager of the Netherlands national team. And Canut, who is known to provide the scoop on Koeman, has now sensationally claimed: “Memphis Depay is already signed.” This development comes after Mundo Deportivo had claimed that the 27-year-old’s signing was all but done this past weekend. Depay is coming on the back of a brilliant season for Lyon, during which he netted 22 goals in 40 games. The Dutchman has been in good form heading into the Euros as well. Should he be able to carry that form forward when he joins Barcelona, he will prove to be a stunning bargain for the Catalan giants.

Nigeria is caused with this corruption thing, the earlier we start voicing out the better for us
One of the assistant coaches of Nigeria's U15 national
team, Bunmi Blair has explained why Barcelona prodigy
David Obinna might not be considered for a call-up to
any of Nigeria's youth teams despite being eligible.
The 2009-born center forward erased any doubt about
his ability after starring in last month's LaLiga Promises
Santander Tournament won by Barcelona, netting three
goals on the opening day before scoring a decisive
penalty against Atlético Madrid in the quarterfinals.
Blair, Golden Eaglets chief scout at the 2019 FIFA U17
World Cup, says Nigeria Football Federation higher-ups
have given a directive to the youth team coaches to
concentrate on grooming homegrown players rather than
inviting foreign-born dual-eligible players to the youth
setup.
The NFF's decision could see the Spanish Federation
get a head start over their African rivals in the race for
the services of Obinna, who speaks Spanish fluently.
Asked if Obinna is a player of interest to the Nigeria
youth team coaches, Blair told allnigeriasoccer.com : "I
doubt if Obinna is on the radar of the Nigeria U13
coaches though I can't speak for them.
"I know the policies of the Nigeria Football Federation,
the Nigeria Football Federation now is focusing more on
homegrown talents, which is what they agreed in one of
their Executive Committee meetings.
"It is not really a total shutout but they want to
concentrate at the youth level on homegrown talents, so
it would be nice for the foreign-born players to identify
with Nigeria .
"One thing I am sure is this, if they come on their own
that they want to play for Nigeria nobody will stop them,
but the NFF is trying to avoid a situation where national
team coaches will look lazy, they don't want to develop
young players at home and rather want to leverage on
talents that are already developed by big clubs like
Manchester City, Chelsea, Barcelona and Real Madrid."
Blair added : "Before they used to invite players who are
based abroad for U17s, sometimes for U15s but they
said we'll no longer do that, but if those players are of
Nigerian descent, carry Nigerian passports, if they come
on their own nobody will stop them from fighting for a
shirt because they are Nigerians.
"A situation where you see a player because he plays
for Barcelona you send an invite to him, the Nigeria
Football Federation said they are done with that".
Obinna, who has been likened to Ansu Fati, used to
play for Espanyol youth team before he was poached by
Barcelona in 2017.
