Romance / Re: Are they afraid of my financial status: by OldBushman(m): 4:37pm On Aug 13, 2012
Let me prophesy a little: in our clime it's not very healthy to help a girl ( or boy for that matter) through school or trainig in in order to get married to her/him latter. It is always fraught with diappointment and disaster. I know more than 3 persons who had their fingers burnt if not part of their heart. You father may be aware of this danger hence his relunctance to encourage you. There is no harm in your marrying someone of dissimilar social status but when it comes to "train-to-marry" beware. You can still help her to finish her education but look for another girl to marry. You'll be happier and saver.

Politics / Re: Woman Boku: Sodom And Gomorrah In Abuja! by OldBushman(m): 9:49am On Jul 15, 2012
In the old days when we had value for our culture the youth help their parents in their businesses. The youth were eager to prove that the education given them is not misplaced. These days the youth hardly want to follow their family business. They want to make it in a hurry. A student whether male or female won't think twice about any deal that can fetch them a ''good ride'' irrespective of the morality of the deal. To tell you the truth the bulk of our problems today are from greed and quest for values that are allien to our culture. No woman or man for that matter should excuse poverty for the abuse of her/his body. Dearth of employment is no excuse for prostitution or armed robbery. So you want to legalise prostitution? What about legalising armed robbery?

Politics / Re: Mass Deportation From South Africa: Another Sign Of Nigeria’s Fading Glory! by OldBushman(m): 5:07am On Mar 09, 2012
If all blacks and Africans are lumped as Nigerians they may not be far from the truth, after all we are 1/4 the population of africa and 1/5 total world black population.
If you don't agree with me check the meaning of the Nigerian word "OYIBO" which we use to refer to none blacks, as u can see this deportation things are more like tit for tat.

NLs,
if you were a south African won't you be afraid of yellow fever? Don't you know that aids+ yellow fever = instant death.
Aids may take 10 years to kill a man, yellow fever takes maximum of three months especially if treated with fake drugs and certified with fake yellow card.

Agreed they were not forced but 'ASKED' to contribute from N100 to ten categories. What about the other contributions in form of tithe and offering or is it only Abacha and politicians we accuse of accumulating wealth. shocked
Religion / Re: Rccg Asks Every Family In The Church To Donate #50,000 To Support University by OldBushman(m): 9:44am On Mar 06, 2012
What most people forget in Nigeria is that these churches are incorporated, they are companies. The irony is that the members are not paid as in proper corporations.
Where is the accumulated wealth of these modern day churches? They have billions in the bank and continue to tax the already impoverished masses who thought they could find solace in their congregation. Even multinationals who are core capitalist give bonuses to their workers when they make good profit. Pretentious religion or fanaticism will never get us anywhere near heaven. National assembly, FIRS and the EFCC should please watch the activities of these churches. shocked shocked

Politics / Re: A Nurse As Minister Of Health: Nma's Petition Disregarded. by OldBushman(m): 3:56pm On Mar 05, 2012
There is nothing wrong if he is a nurse. Are nurses not of the medical profession or institution. Why are doctors in Nigeria so arrogant. Are they saying the medical institution in Nigeria is their private hospitals.
If the federal government are paying the minister they can equally appoint whoever they deem to have the relevant professional and administrative qualification. Medical doctors had been Ministers for health since independence and we have nothing to show for it but strikes for frivolous reasons. A pharmacist can equally be the minister of health for all I care if he can deliver the goods.

Education / Re: My Son Cannot Count Numbers by OldBushman(m): 1:33pm On Mar 05, 2012
At 3.5 years there is nothing wrong if your son cannot count numbers. As he can use his hands I suggest you buy him toy cars and the likes which he is likely to destroy or dissemble within 24 hrs. He may likely turn out to be the most intelligent person in your family.
