RomanceRe: 7 Reasons To Get Married In Your 20s by Oledia(m): 6:18pm On Jan 02, 2018
Oledia:
When my husband and I got engaged, I was 24. I was 25 when I walked down the aisle. At the time, people kept quiet, but as the years have gone on, I have found, especially among very educated, career-minded people on the East Coast, that there is a stigma against getting married in your 20s.

Model Molly Sims writes a compelling essay for Refinery29 about it in which she argues that getting married in your 20s is a massive mistake. She makes good points. When you get married young, you don’t have as much time to focus on your career, you have likely never lived alone (or if you did, it was for a very short time), and you have not had time to grow and change and experience the kinds of things that help form a good, well-rounded adult.

But I’d still choose it any day.

Here are 7 reasons getting married in your 20s really is the best decision.

1.) You grow up together. When my husband and I got married, we knew nothing about long-term love. We knew nothing about the stock market or how to invest or how to save for college or buy a house. Every single thing — every “first” — we learned and did together. It was a process and not always easy. But by this time, 13 years into our partnership, everything we have is ours.

2.) No prenup. When you start with nothing and earn everything together, there is no need for a piece of paper stating the obvious. Two broke kids getting married is a little different than two settled adults in their 30s. Or, as lawyer Cynthia Lifson puts it in a blog post on prenups:

“It might not make sense to sign a prenup if you and your betrothed are both young, just starting your careers, have about the same amount of money, and expect to earn similar incomes going forward.” No prenup. It’s a good thing.

3.) You can still change. One of the best things about being married young is that you have not formed who you are yet. You are not set in your ways and can still grow and change with the person you choose to spend your life with.

As writer Syeda Nazmi says in her piece for Mind, Body, Green: “Life changes like uprooting and moving your career for someone (as many people do) are more easily done when you’re starting your career rather than once you’ve established a career, a house, or children.”

Exactly.

4.) You know each other so well. If all goes well and you make it past the decade mark and well into your hectic 30s with kids, a mortgage, busy careers, and your love intact, it’s almost like being with your really sexy sibling (does that sound gross?). Let’s face it, you have seen this person puking their guts out after playing too many games of beer pong and get promoted into a position of leadership at his office.

When you know someone that well, the life decisions become a little easier. My husband knew, for instance, that when his company started talking about moving him to Ireland, I would be game. There barely even has to be a discussion. We know each other that well.

5.) Safer (& better!) sex. I could really see both sides of this argument. People in their 30s have been around more, they learned more with other partners, and on and on. But people who marry in their 20s have the distinct advantage of having learned how to have sex together. If you marry really young and you are both into sex, you basically learn to be a lover in a completely tailor-made way. What’s better than that? Then there is the safety factor.

“If you chose to get hitched earlier in life, you’re less likely to increase the number of sexual partners you have, which makes you less susceptible to sexually transmitted diseases,” says Nazmi.

Additionally, getting married younger really DOES mean better sex. Dana Rotz at Mathematica Policy Research found that “a four-year increase in age at marriage is associated with a couple having sex about one time less per month.”

Yowza.

6.) Your husband will make more money. While it’s true that women who marry young (who are also often less educated than those who marry older) often

Christianity EtcWhat We Should Celebrate In Place Of Christmas. by Oledia(op): 12:44pm On Dec 27, 2017
Good evening NLders.
In the old testament (Exo 23:14-16) God commanded the Jews to observe three different kinds of feasts, three times in a year. These are the Feast of Unleavened bread (ie feast of Passover), the Feast of Harvest and the Feast of Ingathering (ie feast of Tabernacle). Apart form these, there are also different celebrations the Jews need to hold every year. I cannot give reasons why Christianity which is an extension of Judaism does not observe these feasts. This makes me to feel that the Almighty God is a lover of feasts and celebrations, but some Christians assume that some godly celebrations (like Christmas and Easter) are actually umbilical and as such is unholy. Some claim that every day of ones life should be a Christmas instead of choosing a special day to celebrate that birth of Christ. To those who condemn the celebration of Christmas and Easter my question to you is, what do you suggest should be celebrated in place of these three feasts God commanded to be held?

Kumuyi, Pst Lazarus M, Prophet T.B. Joshua, Father Mbaka, Bis Oyedepo, (which other one?) and 3 Imams to conduct deliverance in Imo state, and the demons behind all these misfortune will run.

Let me share my solution with you, if you can do it you will thank me latter. You know it is very difficult to stop thinking about somebody you love dearly and wishes to spend the rest of your life with. It become more difficult when you share materials, that is when you still have some of his/her materials that your eyes can easily run to.
For me what I do is that, in order to quickly get the person out of my mind, I delete every of the person's picture and through away every thing that will make you remember the person. If you are a guy, I will advice you to quickly look for another Lady that has better features than her and make yourself to fall in love with the new lady. You will be surprised how soon you will get over her.

Caro147:
So I was having a gist with my younger brother and he told me about a 22 year old pregnant girl in heat who happened to be a fellow clubber at club cocoon, the funniest part was that she was due to deliver her child.

I was shocked when he told me this pregnant girl tried to get messy with him and even asked him to go home with her.

Some things are just too impossible to believe but in the ‘hood you have to remember ANYTHING can happen! How do I know? I see and hear it everyday! I don’t NEED to watch cable television because if you’re in the street all day like me working with the public you will know that it’s NEVER a dull moment!

So the guy decided to disgrace the lady after everything by posting her picture on the internet?

EducationRe: Is MECHANICAL ENGINEERING Gradually Becoming Obsolete?? by Oledia(m): 4:52pm On Nov 17, 2017
Semtu:
I'm a 300L student from the department of mechatronics engineering, FUNAAB.... In this my short but well written post, I'll be giving few reasons on why I feel mechanical engineering is no longer relevant in modern life.
Well, the main reason engineering exists is to solve the problems of mankind. Frankly speaking, I don't think mechanical engineering does that! Mechanical engineering only reduces the problems of mankind. Any mechanical device requires physical energy from man before it can function.... A vacuum cleaner is a typical example of a mechanical device, without a person controlling it, the device is useless.... In other words, mechanical engineering doesn't solve the problem of mankind but only reduces it which isn't good enough!!
Now this brings me to my course of study, Mechatronics Engineering!! The world is gradually becoming more of electronics than mechanical. Everything is gradually getting automated, thus not requiring physical work before it can function. And only Mechatronics engineers can cope in this new upgraded environment.... Few years from now, mechanical engineering will become obsolete...
I ask that my fellow scholars should attempt to disprove this post if you feel am wrong as we are all learning

cc : Lalasticlala
Don't worry, you will soon outgrow the level of celebrating your course of study.

Guy pls be a man and let things be. What ever that is not yours will never be yours. Sometimes things like this happen just to test how manful we are. Try as much as you can to ignore it. Whatever anger you have, whatever frustration you have should only propel you to work on your life and career to surprise her latter in future. Remember, there are people who have gone through similar and even worse situation, yet have overcome.

Be a man!
