I have added the new drivative beneficiary (by requesting that via the Public Inquiry Form); I have paid the fee, filled the form, and sent civil documents for the new beneficiary.

I have today (7:08 am) received the type of letter that I received when I initially sent my civil documents in November 2023—stating that "The National Visa Center (NVC) received all of the fees, forms, and documents that are required prior to scheduling your immigrant visa interview at a U.S. Embassy overseas. NVC will work with the U.S. Embassy/Consulate General in Lagos, Nigeria to schedule an interview appointment for you. Once we have confirmed an interview date, we will send a notice to you, your petitioner, and attorney (if applicable).".

The letter contains the same details as the one received in November 2023, except for the date on which it was issued. So, I want to assume that the DQ date has changed. Though I am not so sure since only the priority date is specifically stated. The DQ date is not stated. I just assumed the DQ date is the date the letter was issued.

Please, guys, I still need information on how long derivative beneficiaries can be on "follow-to-join" and if I will be the one to inform NVC when they are ready for an interview, or if NVC will schedule them without asking me. I will be glad to know these. I have my beneficiaries moved to follow-to-join, for some personal reasons.

A pretended dealer defrauded me. NSCDC is not handling the case well. It seems they are treating it as civil and not criminal.

Also, can I report to more than one authority at a time? or I will first need to withdraw my petition with NSCDC before filing another petition with a different authority?

After changing to follow to join, would the NVC just schedule the interview on the next available time or they will wait for the principal applicant to say that the derivative is ready?

Also, how long can one be in the follow to join before finally ready for interview?

DQ will definitely change. Best is to add derivative after you receive IL. At this stage, you deal with the embassy.

I have added the new derivative already. Also, I have made a payment and filled out the Ds-260 form for my newly added derivative.
I just want to know if I need to send photocopies of my new derivative to NVC, as I have done before. Anyway, I have told my friend to help me post it to them already.

I. To add derivatives is str8 forward, contact NVC either via public enquiry (they respond at a reasonable rate this days) or email with the information of the derivative to be added (Full name, address, relationship of derivative to you). To make things easier and faster, include civil documents to the request for adding derivatives e.g
a. passport biopage
b. birth certificate,
c. police report of the derivative such as birth certificate (double check what NVC accept for your country. If you are not sure ,check the one that applies to your derivative country of birth if he or she is not of same nationality as you). If anything is missing, NVC would notify you.

II. DQ remains the same. However, I have heard one or two conflicting report (hear say, no evidence i saw for myself) that Dq changed.

Let some people be talking as if it is Dangote they write on our currency. They should not sell to him in naira (so that everyone can be happy). He will find dollars (that is not available) and import. It is still the naira that will suffer. SAs someone rightly mentioned, to me, the only incentive for buying crude in naira is freight/shipping. And that is not as he wish. There is template for margin/gain in refining business. There is established way of calculating this thing. Nigeria is just too difficult to deal with.

For me, Our local refineries must be allowed to buy crude oil in our local currency but at the official exchange rate. Govt can continue to sell in dollars to foreign buyers.
Asking them to source dollars to buy crude oil locally and then sell in Naira locally cannot help anyone or the larger economy on the long run. It will only worsen the volatility of our naira and worsen the inflation.

I know google is there and by God's grace I know how to use it. But some things are better asked from those more experienced. As a matter of fact, I have paid foe VIN report. I asked because I can't really find anything on the odometer/milage.

This is not my first check. It is just strange and I want to know why. No Google can tell that.

Google is there. Copy the VIN and search for it in multiple pages both free and paid.it will shownu history mileage country and if you are lucky it would transmit u to the lot page,whwre u can see rhe whole car in 360 degrees,b4 it left abroad. Not mandatory for registered nigerian used cars. Only for tokunbo cars.

The VIN is like the NIN of the car.it tells u the cars mileage at the lot.so if its 350k by tracking and it suddenly dropped to 95k in nigeria. Run away fast from that dealer.

At 203k mileage,thats if it wasnt rolled back using a gadget from sharp scam practice by naija dealers. Well its a miracle the engine is still running. AT. To me is automatoc transmission(check the sensors,valve body etc. Seems its either low on fluid,fluid is almost dried out ,loose bolts from valve body,etc,or its leaking and almost dried out. Check your transmission oil,while gear is on Drive and handbrake is on. Guage it first.
