I hear you. Good luck and success to Ukraine then. One more question; who duped Ukraine to ulgive up on nuke as alleged? RodgersAkpafu: Ukraine wants a security guarantee against potential Russian aggression
Russia violated the Minsk agreement
Putin was caught ON TAPE in Russian telling his people that he will "bring Ukraine home"
All the above are the truth and answers all your questions America and UK wouldn't even be in that situation because they do not pose a threat to their immediate neighbours So that is a false equivalence
Let's assume what you said is true Everytime USA doesn't want something, they offer you an alterative, Why hasn't Russia done same ?
I get it Russia is doing what they "have to do" But Ukraine is also doing what it believes is in its own interests.
A security guarantee is what Ukraine needs Whether as a member of nato or a separate deal with western powers w/o Ukraine Or maybe Russian govt doing so themselves Look at it from Ukraine point of view
Ukraine gave up their nukes because they were duped into thinking that Russia won't invade them or have plans to balkanise them Why aren't yall talking bout that |

I gues you are wrong. Again, I will only ask some questions, plus some comments. 1) Can US, UK, etc allow the constant progression of such alliance towards their borders? Look how how Trump is even threatening Brics members. 2) Will NATO admit a nation at war? 3) Even if the war ends today, will NATO admit Ukrain? Remember you need all members support to be admitted. Is not even the US that is against Ukraine membership. 4) NATO has admitted some countries recently, why not Ukraine? 5) Why didn't Europe and the rest of the world make peace for three years, before Trump came? All they offer is to keep supporting and pushing Ukraine to continue fighting. For how long? 6) Ukraine is a sovereign nation who can decide her alliance. However, the truth is NATO doesn't want Ukraine. At least not yet. RodgersAkpafu: The bolded is even more funny How are you sure that you are not the one being brainwashed by Russian propaganda (I suspect this, but I may be wrong)
The question I always ask is... Why is it that apart from one or two shyteholes Why are the other baltic and wider eastern Europeans wary of Russia ?
Russia has always been a potential aggressor and Putin having the daydream of rebuilding the soviet empire (there is a tape of him addressing Russians in Russian saying this about Ukraine)
NATO is in the baltics because the baltics countries want them there and feel safer with nato presence. Now the morality of it is another question But Russia should look itself deep in the mirror
NATO aligned countries like Estonia and Slovenia are doing well and progressing Russian aligned sheetholes are in the doldrums. If na you who will u rather align with ?
Russian invasion or Georgia and the chechnya fiasco of about 20 years ago was a pointer to that fact that Russian aggression is always a possibility
Russia is cornered and everyone knows Europe + Canada will squeeze the nozzle with or without American involvement (because it appears Trunp is now a Russian asset / parrot) |

When I read some comments on Ukrain, I laughed and pained at the same time.
Majority simply want the war to continue. Trump has suddenly become the problem. Zelensky doesn't know what he is doing at all (he deceived me at first).
Those with better ideas, why didn't they end the war before Trump came? They had almost 3 years. Those pushing Ukrain can not even admit her into NATO at present. NATO will not admit a country at war. So, joining NATO or NOT, the war must first stop. Are people aware that there are at least one NATO member state that is not in support of Ukrain membership from beginning? This is not even the US. And for them to be admitted, they need the support of all members. It seems Zelensky doesn't understand simple things. Even if the war ends today Ukrain can still not join NATO. And if the war continues, they can't also join NATO.
What then are we talking about? |

I have read so many beautiful comments regarding the energy topic, more than I can quote. Honestly they are all correct.
But the global energy politics is more important than that. That is what is propelling Trump's "crazy" decisions in that regard. Crude oil is going no where anytime soon. That is the truth. Fine, China is the top player in solar panel, etc, but they are using more coal than probably the rest of the world combined. They are still actively building new plants.
Don't be deceived by Europe, they are just clever in their own way. They only managed to export their solution. Most of what they produced now have been partly processed elsewhere. E.g. the bulk of their steel comes from China where coal is used for the processing.
Trust me, they will soon realise that is not favourable for their economy. The same way they are realising their shortfall in military capability.
Few years ago, my supervisor (a German) told me that at a point they had to pay neighbouring countries to help use their energy from renewable (particularly wind). This is because they reached the peak, and it is more expensive for them to shut them down and restart them when needed. And no storage for it. What we also don't know is that renewable use more fossil fuel and associated products than we think. Check how many litres of oil and grease is needed for just one wind turbine.
Most of these things are highly political. Again, in Germany, ordinary citizens thinks renewable is just slightly more expensive. But the truth is more government subsidise more than half of the cost. Yet, is still slightly more expensive. For already fully industrialised countries, relying solely on renewable might work. But for countries undergoing rapid industrialization (like China, India, etc), it will be difficult. Check the energy requirements of China alone and tell us the quantities of renewable they need. Again, only nuclear (which is also cleaner than fossil fuel) is realistic alternative in short term.
We visited a refinery one day and they told us that they will shut down in few years time (I think 2030). Because they can not run on renewable. We were told that is will require minimum of 30,000 acres of land for solar farm in order to power the refinery. 30,000 acres to power just one refinery. What will happen to the vegetation? That is why is like my supervisor then, he is highly object and scientific. Without data, we no go gree. 😃 😀.
Global warming is real, climate is changing. We contribute to that, I strongly agree. But this is still not the warmest period in earth's history. There was no even human being on earth during the warmest period. And climate is meant to change, otherwise, no evolution, etc and everything remains nearly stagnant.
Even Elon Musk can not put astronaut on electric vehicle yet 😀. Why do Elon Musk (EV provider) alight and agree with Trump (drill babe drill)? They both know the politics. |
Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by olig(m): 2:29pm On Feb 24, 2025 |
Hmmmmm! That depends on many factors anyway. Only T can help by "dril babe drill". In reality, demand for oil might drop, but that of gas might unavoidably increase. Europe does know the role of gas untill they and Russia cut themselves off. So many limitations still face renewables. How many solar panel will satisfy the energy need of China (for instance)? That is why they kept building coal-fired plants (worst that oil and gas). That is why I don't blame Trump in some of his decisions 😉. Na game. And Nigeria shouldn't jump blindly and sign every agreements. Furthermore, until battery usage reach its peak, we will not value the environmental impact also. To me, if human beings can be sane, nuclear is still the best. emmaodet: Hydro/Dam, Solar, Wind or gas/oil. The truth is the demand for oil will keep dropping on the long run |
Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by olig(m): 1:43pm On Feb 24, 2025 |
But, where does the electricity come from? emmaodet: I think the biggest threat to oil is alternative energy - solar, wind, electric cars, bikes etc. It will drastically reduce the demand for oil. Also, it will place oil in a tight corner. If oil rises above the overall running cost of solar for example, consumers will shy away from oil related equipment and if oil drops to a reasonable extent, oil related equipment like cars will become attractive to consumers. The more the cost of running an Electric car drops - the cost of buying it and cost of changing batteries, the more there will be pressure on oil to reduce in price to be attractive to consumers. See it like gas, kerosene, wood. There is a level gas price will get to, people will start shying away from it and start using kerosene stove or woods. If gas drops below kerosene, people will shy away from kerosene to use gas. That is the faith of oil going forward |

It is amazing how we come back many years later to blame GEJ for not removing subsidy. That is why I keep saying, I don't believe that we deserve better than this. We got what we deserve. GEJ made efforts at to save the excess money from crude oil. Some people took him to court because of excess crude account. We blamed him for that. How much do we have in that account today? GEJ removed subsidy. Some people turned rebel and turned the country upside down. We blamed GEJ for it.Dr Okonjo Iweala cried that we should save for the raining day. But no one listen. All the governors were against here, saying they can not save for who will come latter to spend the money. We blamed GEJ for it . Many years latter, we are still blaming GEJ for not saving. PMB wasted the little that was saved in the excess crude account and pratically depleted our foreign reserve. We blamed GEJ for it.
PBAT removed subsidy and devalued the naira. We blamed GEJ for it.That is why many decades later, we are still blaming sl*ve trade and colonisation for our woes. Even when many countries in our category have left us. As if we were not the ones that thought the British. We are not practicing sl*ve related traded and wars before they came right? We always look for who to blame, rather than fixing the problems. Before you say GEJ administration was wasteful, just check government spending and expenditure per administration. How much has PMB spent so far? And what do we have to show for it? Technically, the problem has never been non availability of money. Our spending has ever being increasing. But what do we have to show for it is the question? It is well. Let is continue deceiving ourselves. ololufemi: Very valid points my brother. If we remove sentiments et al, no matter what anyone says, GEJ as president was wasteful and incompetent despite the solid and erudite team he had. He could have turned things around and prevented us from what we are experiencing today in the hands of successive governments of APC.
Many do not realise that Nigeria could have comfortably afforded to float its currency and remove petrol subsidy during his tenure but he chickened out and frittered away that golden opportunity after the ones Obasanjo and Yaradua had.
I usually tell people, the next administration will only meet and make things tougher because of the incompetence of the previous ones.
It's like your predecessor giving you a shovel or spade to use to fill a hole the size of ten football fields and 100 metres deep when he had a caterpillar payloader and literally sold it off.
From shovel na trowel the next person go collect from his predecessor to use do the work. 🤷🏽♂️ |

Favor in Deutschland. FrauPosh: Hello everyone. Sorry for the late update. I had to recover from the trauma the embassy put me through. Now I can find my words . It wasn't funny at all.
Nov 20th 2021-- Booked appointment
Nov 8th 2022 --Goethe A1 exam
Jan 5th 2023. -- Interview
Silence for 8 months despite series of calls and emails from me, my spouse and our immigrations lawyer in Germany searching for my lawyer for verification.
22th Oct 2023 -- Lawyer visited for verification Jan 3rd 2024 -- My spouse contacted ABH for status update but we were told my sacharbeiter(person in charge of my file) was on vacation and will resume the next week which was on Jan 8th 2024. We decided to give him two weeks space.
Jan 22nd 2024 --We called ABH and they said they sent a request to the German embassy in Nigeria and that they were waiting for their (German embassy Lagos)response.(I didn't know what the request was about.)
Feb 6th 2024 -- We e-mailed the German embassy Lagos requesting for an update but we were warned to refrain from further enquires regarding the status of the matter. At this point I was defeated and frustrated.
Feb 10th 2024-- We emailed the Burger meister's office of my spouse' city because at this point we were frustrated. We were advised to be patient that the process was ongoing. My lawyer kept sending emails to the embassy and ABH yet there was no response.
Apr 25th 2024 -- We e-mailed the ABH requesting for status update and the ABH responded that they were still waiting for the response from the embassy as regards the request they(ABH) sent to the German embassy in Nigeria. My lawyer requested to know what the request was but they never disclosed it.
July 3rd 2024 -- The embassy decided to wake up from its slumber by inviting my spouse and I for a second interview. ( The was the REQUEST the ABH sent to them since January 2024 but there was a delay in contacting me and arranging for the interview because according to them(embassy) ,they misplaced my file . Our interviews was place at the time. Mine at the embassy in Lagos, his in his city.
July 9th 2024 -- Second interview for me and my spouse. During the interview I submitted my passport.
July 17th 2024 -- lawyer e-mailed the embassy asking for update.
Aug 21st 2024 -- Embassy responded saying that they appreciate my patience during the process and that they know waiting for my visa decision can be stressful but that I should be rest assured that my visa application is still under review and I will be notified immediately once a decision has been made.
Aug 27th 2024 -- embassy requested for my passport,6months incoming insurance, travel date, prepaid courier envelope and updated A1 certificate (the first one I submitted was expired). I was given a deadline of October 5th 2024.
Aug 27th 2024 -- I emailed them , telling them that they were with my international passport which I submitted to them during the second interview and that I ll be needing the passport to sit for the next A1 exam which was scheduled for Sept 27th 2024. I also told them to please extend the deadline because it will take about a month before the Goethe A1 certificate will be ready, which will go against the deadline. To this they agreed and gave me another deadline of November 15th 2024.
Sept 26th 2024 -- Picked up my international passport from the embassy in person in order to write my exam.
Sept 27th 2024 -- Goethe A1 exam .
Oct 24th 2024 -- I submitted an updated Goethe A1 certificate, courier envelope, passport, travel insurance and travel date.
Oct 30th 2024 -- I received an email stating that I bought and submitted the wrong type of insurance. ( They needed an incoming insurance and not travel insurance).
Oct 30th 2024 -- I submitted the 3 months incoming insurance.
Nov 7th 2024 -- I received my passport with 3 months visa stamp.
Nov 11th 2024 -- I japa.
Omo the stress and frustration was premium. Words fail me on how to quantify my frustration during that time. I never knew waiting was so hard not until my encounter with the embassy. With the German embassy ,no two situations or processes are the same. Never use another person's own process to compare yours. My own process lasted over 2yrs and 11 months. It was 9 days short 3 years. (Nov 20th 2021- Nov 11th 2024) . Typing this was hard but I had to make e no be like say I dey hide update. Wishing you all the best in this journey. Peace.✌️

Louiscars: They are quite similar/ identical vehicles, you wouldn’t go wrong with any of them, quite reliable if they’ve been previously maintained by whoever used them. A bad note about both vehicles is they are prone to theft or being broken into.
