That night they didn’t induce had to wait till next day. Let me tell you induction was painful!!!! Damn the first process got me to 5cm in about 6 hours. afterwards I was moved to labor room oxytocin commenced, and they ruptured the membrane, I received 3 hot drips on the 3rd I got to 10cm I was told to push and LO came screaming out his lungs on the 3rd push after I released very hot poop. We began the 3rd journey my baby had jaundice, we were referred to Massey hospital as the level was increasing instead of decreasing, the drs said he will require an exchange blood transfusion I’m honestly so thankful for the mama here that answered my questions on jaundice and glad I listened to her instead of traditional treatment, after the process was done we we’re discharged after 3 days I was so exhausted I’m thankful we’re back home now hubby is doing well , mom is doing vigilante and LO is eating well. Birth Story: long one, bear with me.

I just want to give all the glory to the Almighty God, for making me a mother again, because of situation surrounding my marriage I did not want a second baby instantly so I went for family planning have been on family planning since October 2018 till August 2020 that I discovered I was pregnant, I was in serious shock because I never miss my injection appointment. I just discovered I was unecessarily weak and I was craving for food I will not eat on a normal day e.g bitter leaf and eba. So the journey began.

I first bought the pt strip I saw the double line I told myself this is impossible immediately I took my self that same day to do scan and I heard I was 12 weeks gone

Telling hubby was hard because the condition we were in didn't warrant for us to bring forth a baby, still I had to tell him, he was shocked like how come but we move.

NO TWO PREGNANCY'S ARE THE SAME

from the day I discovered I was pregnant I had severe morning sickness ( Hyperemesis gravidarum) I had convulsion as if I will die the next minute, vomitted like no man's business, spitting and a whole lot of things, ending of second trimester I enjoyed a little bit but tiredness was on another level.

With my first baby I went to work till I gave birth, but with this second baby by 35th week I was tired, had serious leg issues that it was always hard to stand up and walk had to stop going to work at week 37, because every time I wake up I could not move my legs or do anything

COUNTING DOWN TO GIVEN BIRTH

For my first baby I gave birth 38 weeks and some days so I was expecting this second baby will be the same since he is also a boy. Uhmmm I was very wrong, 38 weeks passed, 39 weeks passed even some baby app said I was already in 40weeks I was very worried, went for scan, and scan measured everything low saying my baby wasn't fine, water not enough different grammar and I should prepare for C/S. in my mind I thought with which money.

Just had to go to God in prayer o, God you see my condition, have mercy on me, 2 weeks after the time I did the scan I started having braxton hicks serious one abi it's contraction, the bad part of it,
was that it will hit me seriously that I will think the baby will come in the next two hours but before I know it, it will disappear, since on monday have been feeling it but it's not getting to that point of me going to the hospital,I woke up yesterday to severe pains I tried bearing it and before I knew it, it disappeared. Slept through out the day and woke up 6:00pm had my bath and was busy watching film when I had a different kind of contraction around 7:00pm I called my mum to come to the room, my mum decided to shower so we could be on our way to the hospital, immediately the contractions were coming back to back before I knew it I told my mum I wanted to poo as she was about to bring a bucket for me to poo baby just popped out of the chair but placenta was still inside of me, we had to quickly call a tenant that had a car and I held unto the baby, Thank God the hospital is not that far, that was how we rushed down, they cut the placenta cord joining the baby, then pushed placenta gently out, checked my tummy to remove blood and other stuffs, baby tore me because he came out with force, I was given pain killer then I was stitched in different places down there the pain killer actually worked because I didn't feel anything.
Baby came out at exactly 7:30pm

Am still in shock of how I gave birth, it's just God. Still in the hospital.

I don't understand this rh factor thing o at my own clinic they said we that are + don't need the rhogham injection that's it's those with - that needs it maybe I will ask again by Tuesday,although am not sure of dh rhesus yet will be doing another test this weekend so maybe I will be talking to the doctor based on the two of us results to know what way forward Sha.It is well

Rhogam is only for a rhesus-ve pregnant mother who is married to a Rhesus +be husband.

The foetus is likely to take the rhesus of the father and the body will develop antibodies against subsequent foetus after a first child, abortion or miscarriage.

There's also a test done to monitor if the antibodies have built up enough to attack the baby, Indirect Comb test.

We’re both Rhesus positive. O+ and B+. Rhesus issues is actually kind of reverse of the ABO incompatibility. The mom’s immune system treats the baby’s fetal cell as an intruder and develops antibodies to it. But it won’t affect a firstborn child unless the mom has had stillborns in the past or miscarriage or maybe abortion. Subsequent pregnancies are at risk though, cos the mom might be sensitized by then and the antibodies that was developed with the first pregnancy will always attack the fetus and cause the mom to miscarry. It rears its head when a woman is pregnant with a Rhesus + baby.

That’s why Rhesus + women should always get that Rhogam shot after childbirth, miscarriage or to be safe, abortion. It protects the mom from being sensitized and develop antibodies which can cause miscarriages and stillborn babies. Lord help us.

Thanks for the response ma'am, I am rhesus-ve and I took Rhogam with my first child, this is my first time of hearing ABO incompatibility, I wanted to be sure it isn't Rhesus incompatibility.

May God help us with all these orishirishi compatibility issues.

For both of my kids, it was caused by ABO incompatibility. I’m blood type O, my husband is blood type B and both my baby boys came out sharing their dads blood type B. During pregnancy and birth, the mom’s immune system might detect the baby’s unfamiliar blood protein antigens and create antibodies to fight the unfamiliar protein in the baby’s blood. This immune response causes the baby’s red blood cells to break down after its born and that’s what causes jaundice in babies who’s blood type is different from their mom’s.

Late November I told hubby to let us start planning for another baby as our DS is Almost 30months old, he would cry if any baby comes to our house and they are ready to go back to their house, I told hubby he needs a playmate already.

Hubby said January or February, but deep down I was low-key praying it clicks before then. A conversation came up in my office with my close pals and one of the Ladies say if a woman is sexually active without FP she ought to get pregnant at least once except she has health issues she isn't aware of.

That got me thinking cos myself and hubby didn't do FP, we only rely on withdrawal method and postinor 2 once in a while, I was worried and decided to go for a scan to check if everything is okay in my stomach.

I was so sad when I saw AF in December, I felt like I lost a pregnancy, I didn't tell hubby about it. I later went for scan towards end of December which reveals that everything is ok except for little infection.
I took the results to a pharmacist in my area who suggested that I treat myself along side my hubby. We were given drugs, hubby's own for 5 days while mine for 10days.

Throughout our medication we didn't do Kpekus
I finished my drug on Friday and on Monday I was feeling funny, I just decided to playfully do PT since I have the strips at home only for 2 lines to be staring at my face. How did this happen? Despite on antibiotics medication. I became scared and worried that the medication might affect my baby.

I went back for a scan and I was told 5 weeks but no heartbeat yet and was asked to come back after two weeks, I told the sonographer about my fears and he told me too check back after 2 weeks.

I went back and he said everything is fine.
MS started dealing with me from 6 weeks, unlike my first which was mild, this got me vomiting and weak.

I am presently 13weeks gone, MS has reduced, I still get worried once in a while and I have done 3 scans, all revealed everything is fine.

I am team September too that happens to be my birthday month as well, Edd Sept 1st but my birthday is 14th i could have stood with August but am hoping to share same birth month with my Miracle seed. so I go with the doctors and not my app that states August. less I forget am a FTM.

Hello Mama, sorry I had to quote you, how has your experience been, with using LSHS.

No problem at all ma.
I haven't been using it before now, infact I was with a private hospital in my area before I recently changed to general hospital. This Antenatal is my first time of using LSHS, I didn't pay the initial payment of 17500 for Antenatal.

The woman in charge of the LSHS in Igando said it covers everything that I will just pay a token after delivery Whereas, the Lab scientist who took our blood sample for laboratory test said it only covers this first time payment. So I don't know which to believe.

You are lucky o. Or did u know anybody there?. When I went, they sent me back stating its Tuesday only. I did laboratory, hiv test that day..then the following week I did scan and I was assigned a doctor

I didn't know anybody o, I went early and I didn't have to queue for payments as I am under LSHS, that made it faster for me.
