It's encrypted but not by default. If you need encryption then chat in incognito mode.

Well I understand you and I kinda thought about the predicament but there's a way they did doze. It wasn't altered by OEMs. I hope the pixel line will have this preloaded and they can do partnership with some top android OEMs like Samsung and Xiaomi. I intentionally didn't mention Huawei even this it's the third major OEM in the world cos they just striked a deal with True caller.

Google has this on their sleeves.

Let's be frank, the next 3 yrs Allo can't be on same level as WhatsApp. No matter how d tech Allo use, WhatsApp does the basic things most users want. & It has many users. Zuckerburg is on another level, the recent feature of connecting fb with WhatsApp it's part of promotion for WhatsApp. & Besides its free, even when its 0.9 dollars per year, most pple still use it free of charge. What I thnk z d next important aspect is to start partnering with Mobile networks for them to make his app easier to access & that's wat he's currently doing.

Like I said in my previous comment allo isn't here to compete with whatsapp but it has a great advantage. All Google needs to do is deeply integrate it into Android and force OEMs not to altar it. This move will make allo grow faster.

Ex. On a dialer app of every new Android phone comes with allo and duo which can easily allow users to chat or video call their contacts and these automatically makes it in the hands of Android users. Within future updates, they should make it available on the web (windows and mac), tablets(android, ipad).

They have a win on the sleeves, they only need the right implementation

Do you think companies thing like this? I think Google has an edge over other 3rd party apps. They should just embed it in Android alongside Duo and ensure no OEM tempers with it in the dialer app. This move alone will win hearts and they should also add sms support to it. That service have refused to die.

When Gmail debuted they were loads of email services(hotmail, yahoo, AOL, et al). Only hotmail exist at the moment and it might have died if not owned by Microsoft.

Messaging app is a different ball game entirely tho but with Android and also owned by Google. They have an edge.

lets not jump to conclusions. I have doubts about the phantom 6 with an octacore, but the 6 plus with decacore is definitely x10 or x20 coz i dont think the chips before those could run that many cores.

All that aside, i too had my first look at it a few hours back and i will say the display on the amoled screen is really good though i wish they'd used QHD.
The phone is significantly lighter than the phantom 5
The cameras are really good. But i believe the improved display quality had a role to play in this.

They refused to reveal the official prices until its launched over the weekend.

Yes but if you know google well then you would know they cover virtually every angle in tech. They are presently working on Lyft to battle Uber. You can look up vids on YouTube to know more about these sick guys. They actually put their R& into things and aren't scared of failing.

What really would i need this for again? When i have iMessage , whatsapp, instagram, twitter, skype, vine.. this allo thing will just be a space killer on my phone. Google should work on something much better and not social apps. Something like collaborating with oems world wide to watch YouTube videos unlimitedly or cheaper.

Social platform isn't a Google thing like they have had bad past from acquiring meebo and killing it to photovine, Google plus et al. But I like their spirit of fighting. These two apps are pretty good but they came late to the party. It's better late than never and you never know cos Google might just have a spin with these new guys.

Lol what else from a Microsoft fan. Duo isn't dead like you claim cos I use it virtually every day and it's crisp and pretty nice. It presently has 10 million downloads

I haven't tried Allo so I don't much to say but from the review its pretty nice and the Google assistant makes it a plus. However, it will be easier fr people to download if Google can embed sms into. Google knows exactly what to do and that's integrating these apps in the core OS without needing any downloads in order not to look like a 3rd party app.


Big G should allow it to be easily used in other devices including desktop. This will aid it's usage speedily

If you have used duo then expect allo to be sleeker.

Actually reading your previous messages, you were talking about OS but if that's the case, then I guess you haven't heard of Galaxy S7 been exploded too..

Samsung was recently sued for an explosion of Galaxy S7 that started heating up, vibrating and finally exploded and guess what, it's not in use when this is happening, the phone is said to be in the man's pocket when it started vibrating and end up blowing burning the man..

That's not all, there is another case of the phone getting burn while charging... Just search for "Samsung Galaxy s7 burn accident" on Google and read for yourself..

Samsung is well known for stuff like this, S6 did the same to a girl, she was charging it while she was sleeping. She woke up to meet the phone burned under the pillow... And a lot bruh

Samsung produces more phones that any OEM in the world. You shouldn't paint Samsung as the only culprit here, this same issue has happened to Apple. People have suffered first, second and third degree burns courtesy of iphones and guess what, it has also killed someone too.
