I use RN5. It came with MIUI 9 and now I am on MIUI 12 do the maths.

Like I said Some Midranges from Xiaomi gets 2 android eg Mi Max 3, Mi 8 lite, Mi 9T updates but not the Notes but that seems to be changing with the RN8/Pro.

Xiaomi midrange don't get 3 years update. Only one major Android update and 2 MIUI update.

Samsung now offers four years of security updates to Galaxy phones and tablets.

Can't Xiaomi embrace this, if we're not paying for software they can still offer something reasonable.

The person probably re-locked bootloader or powered off the phone during system update.

If it was the former case, the only solution would be to unlock bootloader again

Some phone technician don't have sense. Something called damage done affect the phone. The issue of Android 11 update on Redmi note 9s, engineer done scattered phone mouthpiece and earpiece. Saying IC something. Imagine.

My redmi note 9pro looses all form of sound from time to time after few hours of usage... (Music, alarm, ringtone etc)

you better go relax and don't damage your power button. We gather they together for this update wahala. My own Redmi note 9s done become Radio Nigeria and other stuff.
