fuckboys:
the max voc of 80v on the powmr cc is for 12v system, it supports 24 and 48v systems also which also has different max voc. Please refer to your manual for this.

I switched to hybrid inverter because of exactly this limitation on the powmr cc, it couldn't handle my 4 panels on 12v system.
What's the mppt amps on the hybrid inverter?

Mrreed:
4bmm is fine. The maximum current from that PV will barely excede 13a. Between the charge controller and battery is where he will need 16mm cable
you are right if they are in series
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by oloet: 5:15am On May 07, 2025
For science, I think you have actually created another problem by using a 4mm cable in a 12v system, that's like 58A running through your cable line at peak hours since you are over panelled. Please make sure your breaker is properly sized. Enjoy your investment

Nteogwuija:
So, I was able to move the solar mount from the side of the building to an open space where the building won't shade the panels.

Bought another 26yrds of 4mm² to add to the 20yrds that was connected b4, making it a total of 46yrds of 4mm² from the current position to the charge controller.

I got around 700w at 1PM from the 1050w. When it was beside the house, by this time I'd get around 100 to 150w. Even when the sun hadn't shaded the panel fully at around 10 to 11AM, the highest I would get was around 500w.

The PowMr charge controller's limit is 720w. So if I'm getting 700w, I don't think I can complain anymore.

So, apparently, the fault wasn't from CWorth's panel, neither was it from the charge controller. The panels were heavily shaded.

From my experience, I could say that excessive shading can limit pv's production up to 50% and higher.

I don hear you, please be available when the 11.1v battery comes

bassdow:
when you done LAUGHing, kindly note that most times, I comment what I do, even right now, I type from a Core i5 laptop, connected to a 24-inch external Monitor, all powered directly from a 12-volt source.

Not everyOne goes to youTube to learn; some of us actually play around till we inVent a method.

if you went through most of my comments, you would understand I actually explain to some extent what I actually did, like when I say "that an appliances has input of 21volts, doesn't mean the entire thing is used". Even your Tv, which mostly has input voltage of 220 to 240 volts, has big stepDown inside it.
How about computer Desktop CPU, that has input of 240volts yet the highest input voltage of the motherboard is 12volts.

dey there, if you like quote law of physics wey you no understand, or share link to review wey no relevant.

NO NEED INVERTing 12-volts to 240volts ONLY TO STEP IT DOWN TO 21-volots, WHICH WOULD GET FURTHER STEPPED DOWN TO SAY 11-volts

I ONLY NEED AN INVERTER IF I WANT TO RUN MY SUBMERSIBLE PUMPING MACHINE, OR FRIDGE, OR ANY OTHER MUCH HEAVIER APPLIANCES.
EVEN MY TV na direct to 12-volts, outDoor rotating Antennae that's meant to take 2400-volts, I removed the transformer inside it and converted the input wire to USB cable and connected it to laptop USB port, and it got powered by 5-volts.

My FANs runs much faster than your own FAN while connected to NEPA - because I connected directly to 12-volts battery, after byPassing the internal circuitry. Major reason when I wanna buy FANs, I shop for the bad ones.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by oloet: 5:04am On May 05, 2025
Can you now see the reason why I gave that advice?

CuteMaro:
I think I fully understand now. My own fan speed drops on the 12v battery compared to when on AC power. I think the only solution is to get that 14.8v battery to be able to maintain a decent speed.

Well I don already order, let's see how it goes if it's manageable, I just need anything besides LA batteries coz the last one I bought didn't last up to 1 month b4 doing less than 1hr back up.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by oloet: 5:00am On May 05, 2025
Let me laugh first, +9/-9v is too small in a direct DC applicationhuh Are you joking? Though it is permissible in some cases with the presence of some circuitry, it won't end well in a direct DC application.

bassdow:
That would rarely be noticeable since difference between 11.1v and 12v is too small.

A reduction in Voltage, would lead to an increase in current draw, even ohm's law says this + I have done so on many occasions.

Even a few of my laptops (Core i5 and Core i7) are running directly from a 12-volts battery. AnyOne who have average knowledge, understands Laptops need approximately 19-volts to run.

But if you have been inside electronics well enough, you would understand laptops need approximately 12-volts . The rest is to enable it reCharge it's batteries; and probably power some optional things if present.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by oloet: 4:56am On May 05, 2025
CuteMaro:
If I get a higher battery which will raise the total voltage to 14.8v, doesn't this imply that I can't charge with the normal 12v charger?
I am not even talking about charging right now as that is another hurdle entirely, you can check the voltage of the charger with a multimeter first
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by oloet: 7:55am On May 04, 2025
Baba no try am, a reduction in volts for a DC application will affect the speed drastically

CuteMaro:
I see. My fan uses a 12v input. I understand that on full charge this battery should be around 12.6v. I'm going for this size because the original space for the LA batteries is quite small, and I doubt a bigger one would fit.

Original space is for two 6v 4.5ah LA compartmentalized. With 11.1v and much better capacity I doubt the reduction in speed would be much. Fingers crossed.

pazone:
Except they're not all brand new, at least from the one I tested.

The problem with Deriy 14.3Kwh Hithium White Battery with MCCB is the cells are not brand new. See the attached image of the QR code. How can you say cells manufactured in 2021 are brand new?! Or are these fake QR codes? Whichever it is, it's still false marketing.
The BMS (image attached) was programmed to charge at 40amps, new cells are supposed to support charging at 1c. Or are the Hithium cells in Deriy different?
In Southern Nigeria lifepo4 needs to be charged as fast as possible because of the weather, the sky is not always clear like in the north. So anyone with high PV output should be able to charge at 1c or 0.5?

One more thing is the Deriy 14.3Kwh Hithium White Battery with MCCB is not DIY friendly because the cells are welded (image attached)
It won't be easy to replace a cell if something goes wrong in the future. DIYers should have this in mind before buying Deriy battery pack. You get what you pay for but KaylaDeriy shouldn't be marketing these as brand new, they're definitely not.

Nice community you guys have here, researching this battery to get more info & Google landed me on this thread. Capacity test to follow soon, these are first observations.

What's your load like?

Nteogwuija:
12.3v, and your inverter isn't screaming low battery?

I don't know what's wrong with mine. My battery tends to discharge at a faster rate when it's at 12.7v and below. I'm using Cworth's 200ah battery.

I'm using Cworth's recommended charge settings of 13.8v for boost, and 13.6v for float.

Maybe there's something I'm not doing right. I don't know.

Thank you for this decent piece 🙏

GloryJoyeux:
Hey folks,

Just wanted to drop a solid recommendation for anyone considering the new Deye 6kW hybrid inverter. I recently got my hands on one and have been running it pretty hard to see what it’s made of — and honestly, I’m impressed.

First off, it’s parallel capable up to 16 units, so scaling up is no issue. Efficiency-wise, this thing is tight — I clocked idle power draw at just 30W when running a 1.6kWh load, and it only pulled under 100W even with 4kWh flowing. I also put max sustained load of 6kw, it took it like a champ! That’s some seriously optimized idle-to-load performance.

Now, let’s talk MPPTs. The Deye has a new feature under Advanced Settings called “MPPT Multi-Point”. Game changer. One of my PV strings gets shaded after 1PM, and normally performance drops off hard. But with this setting enabled, the inverter kept pulling full amps from the unshaded panels — like it knew exactly what to do. I ran the numbers — the gain was legit.

Sound-wise, it’s practically silent. It uses just one fan, which only kicks in at high loads. No annoying coil whine either — just a soft whoosh when it ramps up. I’m running 10,280W of solar into it, though it can handle up to 12,000W on dual MPPTs. It charges and discharges at 135A, and with an IP65 rating, it’s perfect for our dusty, humid conditions. Built-in WiFi made setup easy and remote monitoring is clean.

Small Catch:

Since it’s a newer model, Solar Assistant doesn’t support it yet, but I checked — it logs every 60 seconds and pushes data every 5 minutes to the Deye app/web. Accuracy is within 98% of Solar Assistant’s metrics, which is impressive for a stock system.

I also tested it with both closed-loop (BMS comms) and open-loop (voltage-based) battery setups. It handled both without breaking a sweat.

Cost & Efficiency:

It set me back ₦950,000, and honestly? The performance outshines Growatt, Axpert, Sumry, Welion, SMS, Sako — pretty much every other popular Chinese inverter I’ve tested.

One thing I’ve noticed with a lot of these cheaper all-in-one units is they use low-quality conversion components. For example, an SMS inverter I tested lost a constant 4.5kWh/day due to inefficiency. Doesn’t matter if you’re generating 9kWh or 30kWh — you’re losing a minimum of 4.5kWh daily. That’s 135kWh a month gone. Discharge efficiency was also poor — I was only getting 86–89% usable energy out of a 10kWh battery.

With the Deye? I’m seeing up to 96% usable, meaning 9.6kWh out of a 10kWh pack. That’s a huge difference.

Testing Other Brands:

I also tested the true output of other inverters, and most are overrated. A “6.2kW” Sumry unit (sms, welion, sako, powrmr, anern, victor max, daxtraumn etc) barely managed 5.6kW sustained, and a “10.2kW” SMS one capped out at 8.2kW. Turns out, they rate them based on PV input, not actual AC output — which explains a lot.

My Brand Ranking (So Far):
• #1: Deye – most efficient and best built
• #2: SRNE – decent performance, but not quite Deye
• #3: Growatt – solid, but a step below SRNE
• Way down the list: Felicity Solar and similar budget brands

That said, I do have beef with SRNE’s pricing. They’re trying to pass off their gear as premium because they’re UL-listed and in the U.S. market. But their 16kWh battery is way overpriced for what you get. It’s just REPT cells rated at 8000 cycles (anyone can get their hands on this cells, and no guarantee its actually grade A sef), and nothing special inside — no thermal padding, no fire suppression, no fancy BMS features. You can get better-built packs from Deriy, Bicodi, Gospower, Lvtopsun, or Valtech for less.

Quite a long read, if you have any questions you can ask me.

SourYoghurt:

Q1. --- I notice it at any percentage between 40-90. But once I turn off the inverter and out it on, it goes to 500w+ from between 187w to 230w.
Q2.

Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by oloet: 8:05am On Feb 22, 2025
Good morning, while I agree with all the submission made after this post, there are certain questions I would like to ask:
What is the battery percentage when you get 510w/260w?
what is the charge voltage on your inverter ?
What is the capacity of your battery?

SourYoghurt:
hello folks, I need you guy's input on this. I have 3× 550w Jinko panels with a 12v battery from Va.lto and a 2kv sunfield hybrid inverter, I don't exceed 510w from the PV even during peak sunshine. Most times to get 400w+ I'd have to off and on the inverter. It is always around 260w.
And the panels surface are clean. I was expecting at least 1000w input from the PV or is the connection faulty?

For sunny period I dey see 500w, what about rainy season, how man go survive? undecided

Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by oloet: 7:40am On Jan 31, 2025
I think jbd rely majorly on pack total voltage rather than SOC

Jefferyzz:
I coupled my cells with jk BMS and what you mentioned is true. At times my BMS will read 99% and 30a plus will still be charging the battery with 0.006 cell voltage difference. Just like you mentioned, users needs to pay attention to pack voltages not just the battery percentage especially when one of those cells don't trigger the BMS HVD which will recalibrate the BMS. I didn't use jbd long enough to know if that's same with them. Jbd or Daly users should let us know if they experience such.

What happened to your BMS

Ayomipoe:
I had an issue with mine the very day it was purchased. 12V 1KVA Hybrid.
The BMS on my battery was bad, and I think it affected the inverter. Error 09, some MOSFETs had blown.
I later took it to their office in Alaba and the Chinese guy fixed it in about 2 hours and apologized.

The most important thing was that there was support and the warranty covered issues as they occur.
