justwise: Do you blame the govt if you decided to over worked yourself? Standard working hours is 38 a day, people on hourly pay in some companies can only work 60hrs a week which includes overtime.
Nigerians here specially in health care sector or security over worked themselves partly because of the need to make more money and help people back home. Nobody forces you to work more hours, its your personal decision. If they are in Nigeria would they even need to overwork themselves? middle class Nigerians do not need extra-jobs and they also have dependents at home too who they have to help here too as well...so it’s not only those who live in U.K. that’s helps people. Or could it be the fact that they overwork themselves because of the bills and all other essentials? I say that knowing most Nigerians in U.K. were not poor people back home, poor people as we all know can not afford to travel abroad..and they didn’t have to overwork themselves when they were back here. And sorry if I’m being cynical, most people in U.K. are also reputed for being stingy, which calls in to question how much Nigerians in U.K. really overwork themselves because they have people back home they want to help.... Some couple of things I would have love to add are already added in my last quote. I think you should just be more Neutral and Balanced in this often tiring U.K./Nigeria discussions...no matter how provoked you are,it should not be all about condemnation of everything in Nigeria after all a large percent of Nigerians will never even own a passport. And that applies to the other side as well who always mock those in the U.K. |

justwise: Just imagine that? You are celebrating mediocracy, in 2023 Nigerians are still managing few hours of power supply, there are villages in Nigeria with electricity, no water supply, no road, no clinic, no postal services, no train station, these are basic human needs.
Someone has the mind to type...Nigeria is better than UK? We have no shame any more...i mean we have gotten used to living with almost nothing to a point we celebrate having power supply for few hours. That’s where we are unfortunately. Power cut is pretty much familiar with most 3rd world countries...and 20 hours of electricity is pretty decent for where Nigeria is right now. hopefully things will continue to improve and get better. If U.K. is also such a heaven I wonder why they are going on strike.didn’t the government just went to to court against the RCN?...pitiful pay,Terrible working conditions..and long miserable hours at work.... most British are unhappy and complain about their own country as well...and for African Immigrants what of the overt institutional racism?so? Challenges are relative and every country has what it’s battling. Of course U.K. is better than Nigeria that’s not in doubt. But in some aspect Nigeria is better as well. I will say you are just like those of the opposite, especially, those who don’t have nothing good to say about the U.K....just like every of your posts about Nigeria is usually full of condemnation and and derision. So you need to look at your self in the mirror too. |

justwise: Which cheap electricity exactly? Which part of Nigeria enjoys constant electricity or decent drinking water? Well. I’m in Osogbo. Average of 20 hours electricity. So not bad. Your points stands though...Nigeria can never be better than UK. However I have also noticed your posts about Nigeria are usually pessimistic and full of condemnation. Uk isn’t perfect as well and in some things...Nigeria is honestly better. Heard of black people slumping and dying in factories due to work related stress. And an African nurse just died recently (making four in one month) too sleeping while driving after a night shift.... Uk isn’t heaven and have its own issues as well... |

I have never been to Osun state, I have stayed in Anambra for 3 solid years straight and still goes from time to time. The people who contested are former governors of Lagos and Anambra, the one from Lagos is living in Lagos he is not telling us he will make Nigèria a Dubai, the one from Anambra is living in Lagos and he is telling us he will make Nigèria a Dubai. Didn't u guys learn anything from school at all? U should Iearn basics in comparison. You’re saying rubbish. |

27Pushing30: Osun state is not comparable to Anambra in terms of geo-location.
is that not why you guys are begging for seaport?
common sense sha las las Osun state is comparable to Anambra in terms of geo-location? How does that correlate to my post? Secondly How do the matter of sea-port correlate again with my post? Lagos apart from the fact that a part of it was FCT for 77 years was created as a state in 1967. While Anambra state was created in 1991....same day as Osun State... therefore the Anambra comparison with Lagos does not make sense. Anambra in southeast can only be compared to Osun State in Southwest due to the fact that they are age mates in terms of the day of creation. Also it actually seems you are the one that lack common sense. And lastly I’m from Osogbo Osun state...you can confirmed that from my previous posts on this forum. |

Corn247: Lies, every yoruba is proud of their origin and Lagos is not limiting other SW states. All SW states are doing well. Lagos, Ogun, and oyo fall into top 5 developed states in Nigeria.
Osun has the lowest unemployment percentage in Nigeria and Ondo has the lowest percentage of poor people in Nigeria. Ekiti which is the youngest is also developing ping rapidly. They can all do better but focus more on other states and regions that obviously depend on SW states. They should try and stand alone too instead or becoming minority everywhere for fast money. It will seriously affect their future generation because they will eventually become stateless and powerless when they are not the majority of any reasonable place... They will eventually find themselves at the bottom of the chain. Ogun state is the worst state in the entire country. A truly horrible state. |

oyatz: You wrote out of ignorance.
Most Nigerian States are NOT performing to their capacities because of the erroneous mindsets that State Governors have little roles to play in the economic development of the country.
Some States that derive substantial funds from crude oil may seem relatively developing.
However, over all S/West States are developing. They are not tapping the advantages of proximity to Lagos but this is not due to the fault of Lagos Ogun state is a terrible state. It’s not developing nada |

If in a state in your region, a gubernatorial candidate born of a northern mother, with no governance experience, was exposed to have ridiculed your tribe and fraternised with a deadly Arewa group in the past, now contesting to become a governor, won't you condemn and possibly vote against him as a true son of your father?
