I see a lot of women who wait for years for their lovers to get financially stable before getting married. They are usually mocked as Lord of the rings, because the men refuse to commit till they can afford the basic necessities or at least get a stable job.

The points you raised are quite true.However, such cases are few as most ladies these days see marriage as a source of income and an avenue to escape from unemployment.

In fairness to the few ones who still marry for love and companionship,some can still manage and endure with a guy but are most times discouraged by friends who are dating or married to richer guys.Again, the issue of social comparison comes to play, ladies compare their fiance' s financial status with their friends' and take marital decisions that conforms to social demands.

Bros, that's the thing with some ladies, they want everything set for comfort.Only few are willing to manage.

Ladies often times make statements like he's not ready for marriage or he's not a serious guy,and one often wonder what they mean.The truth is some of these so called unserious guys are actually serious about getting married but are not [i]well positioned or prepared to actually get married.So,there's always a misconception, misinterpretation and generalization when some guys are referred to as unserious or not ready.

Below are some of the reasons for such statements;


1.When a guy doesn't have a reliable source of income

A jobless man is considered unfit for marriage and is viewed as unserious even when he's actually serious in the real sense of it.This poses a big question...why would a jobless man want to get married?Ladies do not take this type of men serious as they automatically disqualify them from their list of prospective[i] husband[/i].

2.A guy who stays in a one room apartment

It is assumed that a serious minded guy who has plans for marriage and wants to raise kids in the nearest future should be able to rent at least a 2 bedroom flat as ladies expectation regarding this is quite high.While a guy who stays in a 3 bedroom is considered as suitable,he might not really be ready for marriage but most ladies see such guys as ready and suitable for marriage.

3.A guy who stays with friend or family

Most ladies cherish privacy with their supposed partner as it avails them the opportunity to spend quality time together,but when a guy still shares an apartment with friends or stay with his parents,it often sends wrong signals to the lady and she wouldn't hesitate to go for a guy who stays alone.

4.A guy with low income

Some ladies do not find these category of men attractive and cannot weather the storm with low income earners.They have a strong appetite for men with six figure salary e.g Bankers,oil and gas workers,medical doctors etc and would do anything to have them as husbands even when it's glaring that such men are not interested in them.

We often hear people say "living from hand to mouth" and there's this notion that reference is been made to strictly the poor.We tend to restrict the meaning to the less privileged and indigent.

Surprisingly, the category of people who fall in this group are not only the poor as the saying has more of an attitudinal connotation .The group of people below fall into the category of individuals who live from hand to mouth.

1.The Indigent

These are people who live in abject poverty and can barely feed themselves.They have no regular source of income as they depend on handouts from sympathizers.They are more concerned with meeting their immediate needs which is food and shelter and once that is met,they are fulfilled .

2.Low income earners

People who earn meagre salary can also be described as those who live from hand to mouth because of their inability to save after expenses have been incurred on transportation,feeding and accommodation and there's little or nothing left for keeps.They look forward to the following month and the trend continues that way.

However, there are exceptions as not every low income earner fall in this category. Some low incomers have
monthly savings and utilize their salary judiciously.

3.Some high income earners

There are high income earners whose salaries are in six to seven digits and spend lavishly and frivolously on feeding, accomodation, designer wears, automobiles and the likes.These group of people have no savings as a chunk of their income is spent on consumables rather than investing and in the event of a job loss or salary cut,they find it difficult to adjust.

It's true that God gives wisdom and understanding,but as humans,we need to seek for more knowledge and wisdom,considering the complexity,uncanny and ever changing vicissitudes of life.There's need to gain wisdom in order to meander and navigate the crooked path of life and to handle the unpredictable situations and nature of man.

As we grow older,wisdom and knowledge is required to enable us interact effectively with people and achieve our goals and God-given purpose in life.Below are the ways we can acquire wisdom and knowledge.

1.Interaction with people:The saying that show me your friend and I'll tell you who you are holds true.This statement clearly corroborates the fact that the type of company/friends you keep shows the character you portray and your level of reasoning.Keeping a company of intelligent,wise,responsible and focused friends would in the long run rub off on you positively.

2.Personal Development:Making conscious effort towards self development is very key.To increase in knowledge and gain more wisdom,there's need to invest in personal growth.Some of the ways you can feed your brain is by reading,watching thought provoking movies,engaging in intelligent discuss and seeking mentorship.

3.Personal experiences:The experiences we go through in our life provides a platform for learning and gaining wisdom as experience they say is the best teacher.There are experiences we've gone through in life that makes you wiser,such experiences cannot be taught in the four walls of a university and it often comes with some sacrifices.

4.Other peoples experiences:Learning from other peoples experiences be it in marriage,relationship,social and other spheres of life,can further equip you in handling life challenges and helps you make wiser decisions.In this case,you need to be observant enough to learn from these experiences.These experiences coupled with personal experience provides you with some form of tacit knowledge.

1.Physical Aggression:People who are highly temperamental tend to be very aggressive when they are angry.They often resort to physical aggression and violence when they get charged up,this is mostly because of their personality type and their inability to find other avenues to respond to provocation or to contain their anger.

2.Verbal Aggression:This involves the use of invectives and derogatory words to express displeasure or anger.The reaction is always instantaneous and it takes time to calm such people down.


3.Delayed Response:These are the most dangerous and unpredictable set of people.They have a calm and gentle disposition even in the face of provocation.Response or reaction may take days,weeks,months or years to manifest as emotions and anger is bottled up;waiting for a set time to unleash the pent up anger.
