Follow your passion always. BTW he's your father no one will know how to convince him but you. I think you should have thought about this before now that you got admission to study big brother pharmacy. tongue

Yeah.
I had mentioned this to my dad before gaining admission to study pharmacy. At the time, I didn't have as much knowledge on IT as I do now.

It depends on ur parents tho.

These days I would advise u follow ur passion i.e what u feel comfortable doing. This should be ur motivation.

Having said that, pharmacy is a very lucrative profession that gives u an above average kinda lifestyle in this country. I also think u can grow passion for this profession.

Like I said, it depends on ur parents, they r the ones to dole out money for any career.

Just call them together for a heart to heart talk

Thanks for your contribution. I don't see myself developing passion for pharmacy. I'm very keen on being the BEST at what I do. Pharmacy won't give me that.
Career / Re: How Do I Start My Modeling Career? by oluebubeneo(f): 7:57pm On Feb 27, 2018
Hello dear,
Are you active on social media? I mean how's your social media presence? If it's good, have you considered promoting yourself on your social media handles? What social media groups and communities are you a part of? Join relevant groups and communities that can help you with not only knowledge of your passion/career as the case may be but also help with information and advice on vacancies in modeling agencies(information age y'know).

While putting yourself out on social media, do that offline. While establishing online presence and network, do same offline. Establish real life business relationships that are credible. Put Yourself Out there.

While you're at it, work on your skills. Improve those you have already and acquire more. Follow top models and actresses. Watch related videos. Know your onions. Be the best. Self-esteem and self-confidence is just too important to overlook.

This won't be an easy ride but with passion, hardwork, persistence and smart-work , you're unlimited. While I want you to stay positive all through and ask for help when you need it, don't always expect help. You're not entitled to help (at least not yet).Get ready to work hard, work smart and give more than enough reasons why you should be chosen, why you deserve to be featured, WHY THEY NEED YOU... yeah baby!!!

Hope this helps

No wonder these international movie industries don't see the need to feature nollywood actors and actresses in their movies. Heck! there's nothing here for them except piracy.
Education / Reasonable Advice Needed; Trolls KEEP OFF. by oluebubeneo(f): 7:23pm On Feb 27, 2018
Hello Nairalanders,
Hope y'all are doing great.
I created this thread to seek advice from experienced and mature minds on this forum(yeah, I've seen nlanders give very intelligent and informed advice here. Hopefully I get some of that too).

Quick intro
I'm a 100level student in a federal university here in Nigeria studying Pharmacy.

A Peek Into My Plan
I want to postpone college/university education. I want a career in computer/IT. I will achieve this by acquiring relevant IT- related skills such as all the MSes(sounds crazy... lol),web development, graphics, animation, coding, typing skills and other IT-related skills.
I have a passion for writing and I can write on topics of interest and proper research. I want to build a Freelance career too. I have other plans but I'll stop here.

After these, I will go for a degree in Computer science in a reputable university, preferably outside the country. This means that during my "skill-acquisition" period, I'll take a couple of relevant and important examinations.

Now Here's What...
I don't know how to tell my dad about my decision. How do I convince him seeing that my plans don't exactly fit into the traditional "leave high school, get a college degree and get a job"?I don't see myself being the best at pharmacy. There's no passion, no motivation, no drive!! Hell! I don't see myself manufacturing or prescribing drugs to people. Why continue wasting his(my dad) money and my time studying a course I'm not interested in knowing fully well that I won't make a career out of it?

Guys, I'll appreciate your well thought out advice on what you think is the best way to present this issue to my dad.
Any suggestions on possible improvements on my plans will be nice too.

Thanks for taking your time to go through this. I expect your contributions and I'll be here to answer any questions you may have as regards the issue.

I'll soon call lalasticlala

I hate to seeing a feminist quoting me, I'm extremely feeling sad this early morning.
Take it to your little soft head, God created the world and gave the first man (or men) the power to control it. After considering the loneliness of man with no partner or supporter, He later created Woman as a support to man.
It is unbiblical to see those women that should be a support becoming burden and monster to men in the name of gender equality.
With the current trend, women now see themselves equal to men and the men in the order hand ignorantly give them the opportunity by making the law to favor them and not knowing the bad effects of it in the country, the near future and our generations unborn.

As you ladies are agitating for what is not existing know that WO-man means subsidiary of MEN.
There is no way the nature will favor you as your going against it will.

Anyway good morning.

I'll be back to modify this post. I don't feel up to it now.

I like this Phillipines president, I love real women and hate feminist because they offer nothing but confusion and stubbornness to many relationship. They can turn a good wife to bad ones using their gender equality claim.
How I wish all nation behave like Phillipines I'm sure that will make those confused ladies to come to their senses. Enough is enough, the law have been in the position to favor women, I wonder what they are looking for. Gradually they will understand that this is men's world and not feminist own.
This one doesn't even know what it means to be a feminist. Men's world Kor,

UnchangeableGod:
Sir, I think I understand your plight. I was once in your shoe. Unfortunately, religion or 'spirituality' has never helped anyone. All you need is Christ. The more religious or spiritual without Christ, the more confused you become. I was once like you until I had a personal encounter with the Saviour. I see that some people are 'preaching' to you to become ungodly, irreligious and carefree like them. Well, you have a choice sir. However I humbly recommend you choose Christ. Repent and turn away from your sins and accept Christ Jesus into your heart. As you sincerely do, all your doubts, puzzles and confusions will be cleared and solved. Your life will also have a meaning and your life will experience peace from the Prince of peace. You may also choose to attend any of the Bible Studies handled by servants of God like pastor W.F Kumuyi. God bless you.

Thanks for your contribution. I'm not a sir though.

Romance / Re: It Is Wickedness To Date A Lady For More Than 2 Years Without Marrying Her– Lady by oluebubeneo(f): 7:36pm On Jan 04, 2018
hedonistical:
How? You must be very stupid, just like other girls like you.

After marrying you, you will tell me that I shouldn't cheat on you.... and when I inevitably do, you will start talking about gender equality and why you have the right to "do as I do." Na who send you? Who need the imprisonment called marriage more?

The baby mama arrangement works perfectly. Until when these so-called Instagram and Twitter era Nigerian woemen understand two important things: (1) You can't expect or force your man to be faithful (to cut down on his guyman lifestyle). (2). You are NOT allowed to imitate him, to also have your own affairs outside because he is doing so. In other words, you are not equal in that aspect.

If you're getting married, allow the man to slow down at his own pace (if he chooses to), and you too must lock your pussy to other men and be submissive, regardless of what the man does.

If these conditions are unacceptable to you, then DO NOT force men into marriage. Stay single and live by your own principles the way you want. Don't try to force your rubbish down an innocent man's throat.
Wow

mrphysics:

This is very simple.
1. Avoid staying alone. If you always have quiet time, do avoid them until you've overcome this thoughts.

2. I wouldn't know the church you attend currently, why not consider changing it to a church that does not believe in those dreams and negative thoughts.

3. Always engage in regular exercise with people. Think about this, those thoughts that cause you fear are things people do and are happy. So why should yours be the opposite? You don't deserve that, you need to be happy and fulfilled.

4. Go against your beliefs. Trust me, they was a time I believed all those things and they were working for me. Sleeping at night was hell. I read Psalms regularly and sang hyms and nothing changed until I saw I was just killing myself silently while the rest of the world is just happy and living a normal life.

5. In your spare time, listen to jokes and funny conversations.

I trust that with the above, you will be fine

Thank you so much
