Reminder to the Post.
You can see that the UK first stopped visa free travels from citizenship by investment passport from the Caribbean and now EU is also restricting Schengen visa free access?
This was a conversation we had long before it was even thought off. Things are getting crazy bro.

HOKIM:

When it happens, refer me to the post.... citizenship by Investment WILL NEVER go extinct here in the Caribbean.... their Economy will Literally collapse if it does....like a cookie ,it will crumble, and the Gov't knows that... these islands are Tourism dependent and Dont have much populations, They know that "selling" these citizenship is not only a great way to make money but also a good way to attract investors, mainly corrupt politicians from third world countries and Western country elites, how wants to renounce their citizenship to their home country to evade tax and yet have good passport to travel...I'm mot talking as an outsider... I LIVE in Barbados, and sometimes Brazil too... so south America and the Caribbean is my zone ..

Those passport are good, an carries no weight or controversies, anyone can be a Brazilian.
US,Canada are not such amazing place to be. If you look beyond the west, there are amazing places and opportunities for what you want.
If also you can get direct PR to Canada, Australia, it also gives you citizenship in 5yrs
Travel / Re: Advice: Where To Relocate To With $30k USD In Savings by oluflourish: 10:23am On Jan 20, 2023
Well, there is no point if you can't get PR or citizenship in couple of years. And it's a good decision to start a family.
One of the fastest way to get a PR as someone is trying to raise a family is through Birth tourism, it's afford you the opportunity to apply for PR, and citizenship in few years, at least your kids are automatically citizens.
Brazil, mexico, Chile, Portugal. But in Portugal, you need to be a resident for a year for your kids to have that privilege. The only thing is if you can learn the language cos you need it.
Also look at Digital nomad visas, if the present job you do now can make you work remotely, why not try Portugal or any of the above countries.
$30k in lump sum can give you residency in Chile, thereby also given birth to a Chilean.
Chilean passport is great, even better than US and Canada.. it takes you to important places in the world.
Brazil also great, all depends on what you want.
You have many options with that such amount with residency by investment that is expensive.
Good luck.

Hello guys , with Brazil residents permit is there any country in EU you can visit or uk . Which country is easy to travel with your permit?
Is there any Portuguese language tutor in naija ?
With Brazillian resident permit, you will still need to apply for visas to Europe. But trust me, its not difficult to get a visa as long as you meet all the requirements of having a steady source of income. Its just a smooth process. Even with my Brazilian PR i still need a visa to Europe and i had never problems putting applications or ever been denied visa.

Celpe Bras exam in Nigeria has just been scraped late September. Before, you can take the courses and write the exams in either LASU or OAU. But the latest development is that you can not write the exam in Nigeria.
Whoever, you can take the lectures, but exam takes place in Brazil. I dont know if it also affects other African countries. But no longer possible in Nigeria, effective from end of September....

Please what is the process for travelling to Chile for a new couple

For Chile, you put in your application for visa at the Chilean embassy in Ghana as there is no Chilean embassy in Nigeria.
Though many people don't know that your new born can only become a Chilean citizen and the mother eligible for Permanent Resident after child birth if any of the parent holds only temporary resident permit.
Your tourist visa can't make your new born a citizen so you need to work with birth tourism firm and hospital, they will convert your tourist. Visa to TRP. All this is legal. Goodluck

please what is the requirements to get a visa as a couple. Please my husband and I will want to know how to process it and how long the visa process takes ..I'm not pregnant yet ☺️.just want a place I can start a family (give birth) for the benefits

I would want to know the country you have in mind because each place have its own requirements.
If you hold UK, US or any schenge visa; you can use it to give birth in Mexico and you will definitely need an agent because of the language barrier.
Giving birth in Brazil has an active and the processes trend in nairaland, just read though
I had my first in Portugal because my wife lived 2years before giving birth which made our kid an automatic citizen. Now the law says 1yrs after been a resident. I had my second one in Brazil, got the tourist visa from Portugal.
I would want to know which of the country you are interested in and I can advice according.

Investment is better but can he also live in the US or go back to his home country?

Sure you have the right to live where you make your investment and also to return to your country. Reason people go for Citizenship by investment is for diversification of passport portfolio, investments, and tax benefits. Some with poor passport holders also buy Citizenship by investment.
Most of this Caribbean passports are tax Haven, and if you are a high net worth individual, you can save yourself of millions of dollars in tax. Imagine the government taking away from you $1m in tax.

wait let assume the guy have the money and bought the citizenship. So he's going to wait for another 5 yrs before he will be granted the citizenship?

No he gets his Citizenship in 2-6 months if he went for Citizenship by investment ranging from $150k to $500k
But if went through Residency by investment it take him 5yrs excludes processing and waiting period and will still need to immerse himself with the language requirements., will still cost him between $350k to $1.2m

Well, just to let you know... its been around for a very long time... and will continue to exist for a very long time... I stay in the Caribbean, Barbados precisely, so I know wat I'm talking about.... these islands are tax haven for the rich, and that's how these countries make money outside tourism.... problem is, the guy wey ask the question fit afford am??

Sure, its been long for a long time and countries generate revenue through it, the Russia/Ukraine war made EU to consider putting embargo on those that boughy Citizenship by investments from the Caribbean having access to their country, there is so much background check and the prices are even going up.
Am an expert in residency and Citizenship going offshore and investment... I will refer you to this post when that happens.
Sale of passports from Caribbeans may not be sustainable in 10- 15 years from now. Well residency through investment might be sustainable because you have to reside, learn the language and people's culture, have an attachment and walk up to Citizenship

Well technically, people buy Saint Kitts and Nives passport, Question should be can he Afford it...?? Hin get over $300k ?

Yes I know that people buy Citizenship by investment, or residency through investments.. Even with US residency by investment, how many people will be able to afford it?
Not so many will even donate about $150k excludes other fees to get a passport in the Caribbean.
I don't see passport through investment sustainable in the long run. Some countries in Europe are trying to kick against it due to some countries that would just want to have access to their countries anyhow

Thanks boss but for other south American countries like Costa Rica, Ecuador, Belize, Bolivia , Paraguay, Uruguay u sure don't require visa right?

Just your PR resident card ?

May I know what questions and how the point of entry looks like when traveling with your naija Pali and Brazil Pr card pls?
Belize and Costa Rica is in central America, though I have not visited the two, but will sure do that soon.
Though you can visit other South America for visit or business, but you need some form of visa to relocate. I only spent 7days in Uruguay. SA is not like schengen that is border less, it has borders and your reason for visit is asked. They don't bother you much with questions since you are carrying Cedula which is electronic and easily confirmed from the system. You should also have accommodation reservations

You need your passport to travel, you also need your PR card with you, its a smooth entry and nobody bothers you.
You travel more or less like a south american to another south America except that you still make your Nigerian passport.
Any South american PR is respected in South america. The first place I used it was weekend trip to Uruguay and it was just smooth.

Yah, I have been to almost all countries in South America with my Brazilian PR. But I needed a visa when to visit Canada.. It Brazilian PR, you though need visa to Canada,US, Europe etc, but it is the easiest visa to get. Just put in your application and your chances are just 98.8% if your income is good

Good Analysis you wrote up there.
But the truth is all good countries offer all the mentioned above. There is nothing special becoming an American citizen.. If you are an entrepreneur, financial analyst or into business, you will know in the financial aspect, its a huge burden and that is why good investors and entrepreneurs are renouncing their US Citizenship.
You never mentioned how the US government will follow their citizens everywhere because of tax. You pay worldwide income and that is why there is a special form all banks gives you to fill as a US citizen. To some extent, US passport is a burden, believe it or not, Canada is almost going in the same direction.
I have a daughter who is already a Portuguese by birth and a Brazilian son by birth and I currently have a Brazilian PR, and I prefer walking through Citizenship by neutralization either in Portugal or Brazil. My kids already have the opportunity to live anywhere in Europe and South America. I consider the two passport than an American Citizenship... Nobody hates a Brazilian, American passport carries some unnecessary attention. Is it free education or cheap schools, free healthcare, job opportunities, quality of life? etc, all good and progressive countries have it, also it's citizens that vote in an election everywhere..
Just give us cons of holding an American passport in regarding your financial aspect and let's compare.

Well, it's your decision to make, but if you ask me... African country is not worth it apart from Namibia, Mauritius, Seychelles, South Africa, Botswana but how many of them give citizenship by birth?.
Those that give is more or less like holding same passport as Nigerian.... Worthless. The money you will spend for flight, feeding, hospital, housing are more saved and get a good country to give birth and give your kids the world.... Your Nigerian born also gets PR and Accelerated Citizenship before 2-3yrs.
But I wish you well if you still insist in Africa

I will like to commend your efforts in having a good plan for your kids, at it stands now, this is one of the best decision intending couples are to take.
1. With wife already 5months gone, you don't have time, and you should have concluded plan a long time ago.
Your best bet now is give birth your first now in Nigeria, and plan for others in Mexico, Brazil, Chile... The first two gives advantage of automatic citizenship for the child and PR for the whole family including grandparents.
That you have your baby now in Nigeria does not mean that he will not get PR through your next child..
It will even help you to plan well next time.
I had my first in Portugal, and the child is Portuguese because my wife had her after been a resident in Portugal after living in Portugal for 2yrs, now the Portuguese law says 1 year as resident.
In Chile, your baby also gets automatic citizenship as long as any of the parent has Temporary Resident Permit..... Using a birth tourist company will help you with that.
To me, Chile passport is better than US and even Canada because it takes you the most important places in the world and citizens that live outside Chile are not taxed.
Taxation is even making US citizens renounce their American passport because uncle Sam will follow you everywhere, and Canada is towing same part.
Your strategy now, have this one in Nigeria and plan for the next in Mexico, Brazil, Chile.
If your child who is now Chilean born or Mexican born will be eligible for Spanish citizen after 2yrs as Spanish resident.... You already set that child for life. More option to live, work, study, free Healthcare abroad.

The best bank you can bank on is standard chartered bank.
Atleast no bank can come head to head with them till the next 50yrs.
That bank is what bank should be. No charges, no worries, your fund is secured and you have rest of mind that you have a bank account
