Sports / New Research Reveals Europe's Most Expensive XI CF: Lionel Messi £184.79m by olufunkeoyedeji(f): 1:49pm On Jun 10, 2013
New research has revealed just how much the most expensive XI players in Europe would cost if they were to move clubs this summer.

Analysts at the Football Observatory have looked into various factors to determine which player is the most expensive in each position, producing a first XI which would cost over £560 million to assemble.

Variables such as achievement, age, contract length, international experience and official historic transfer fees were all taken into account to come up with a single transfer fee.

Lionel Messi leads the way as the most expensive player on the planet – the Argentinian would cost almost £185 million to purchase this summer.

His fierce rival Cristiano Ronaldo is way behind and is worth ‘only’ £86.87 million – although that is largely down to the fact he only has two years left on his contract while Messi recently penned a new long-term deal.

Only three Premier League players make the team, with Manchester United’s David de Gea (£22.19m) between the posts, and Chelsea’s Eden Hazard (£47.18m) and Tottenham ace Gareth Bale (£36.98m) in midfield.

Barcelona is the best represented club with four players in the team – Gerard Pique, Sergio Busquets, Lionel Messi and Jordi Alba. Best Player in Europe Award winner Andres Iniesta is a suprise omission.

Chelsea and Manchester City transfer target Edinson Cavani is the only player to make the team from Serie A and is valued at £49.56m – just a few million less than the fee Chelsea have reportedly agreed to pay Napoli for his services.

Europe’s Most Expensive XI

GK: David De Gea (Manchester United) £22.19m

RB: Philipp Lahm (Bayern) £17.68m

CB: Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid) £35.19m

CB: Gerard Pique (Barcelona) £29.07m

LB: Jordi Alba (Barcelona) £21.59m

RM: Eden Hazard (Chelsea) £47.18m

CM: Sergio Busquets (Barcelona) £33.07m

LM: Gareth Bale (Tottenham) £36.98m

RF Edison Cavani (Napoli) £49.56m

CF: Lionel Messi (Barcelona) £184.79m

LF: Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid) £86.87m

Total: £564.15m

Crime / Re: Man Bathes Girlfriend With Acid by olufunkeoyedeji(f): 11:22am On May 22, 2013
MAYOWAAK: IF anyone had told Blessing Ikhumhi that Okosun Cyril, the man she once loved, would turn around and bath her with acid, she would not have believed it.

Neighbours and friends used to see the duo as Shakespeare’s ‘Romeo and Juliet’. But they were wrong.

Even Blessing once saw him as “the best thing that could ever happen to her,” because she never believed the words of William Shakespeare, which asserts that, “there are daggers in men’s smile.”

Their romance turned sour with tragic consequence for Blessing, a 23-year-old student of Edo State School of Health Technology. If she would ever regain her sight she would see all men as “monsters” because she has seen “hell” in the last three months as a patient at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), Benin City.

Doctors in the hospital believe she may never see again except she is flown to a specialist hospital in India, where her sight could be restored.

Blessing’s story is a sad one. Her ordeal began when she told his boyfriend, who is now in police custody in Benin, that she was no longer interested in what she described as “uninspiring relationship.”

The news did not go down well with him. He visited her house and asked for a talk.

The victim had gone outside to meet with the man whom she thought might have come to settle with her and probably, persuade her to continue in the relationship, but to Blessing’s shock, she was bathed with acid.

From that fateful day, she has seized to see and has been on admission at the UBTH.

“He was my boyfriend and we had arguments in February. He beat me to the extent that I was not able to go to school for three days. I told him I was no longer interested in the relationship. He later tried to forcibly take my telephone, but I refused to give it to him. I told him he was not the one who bought it for me.”

“On March 23, he called and asked me to meet him in front of our house. I refused initially, but he insisted, so I came out. He asked: “Do you mean you don’t want me again?” I said: “No! I was no more interested in the relationship. And immediately, he poured the acid on my face. Since that day, I have been on admission at the UBTH and the doctors say I might not see again except I am flown to India where my eyes could be restored. “

She noted that Cyril was the last person she expected to treat her so badly.

“I never knew he would have the heart to pour acid on me. I made a mistake. I have learnt the biggest lesson of my life. My prayer now is that God should touch kind-hearted Nigerians to come to my aide so that I would be able to get treatment abroad, since my parents cannot afford it.” Ikhumhi, a native of Fugar, Etsako Local Council of Edo State, has pleaded with public-spirited Nigerians to come to her aid.

Domestic violence has been on the increase nowadays as aggrieved lovers have been pouring acid on their estranged partners.

In March 2010, Oluwatoyin Safiu Morufu, from Oyo State, was reportedly bathed with acid by his wife of over 16 years, Uloma Beatrice, from Abia State.

In 2011, a suspect, Samson Igbinomewahin, 47, was arraigned at an Ebute Metta Chief Magistrate‘s Court, Lagos, for allegedly pouring acid on his wife, Mrs. Susan Jeremiah, 31.

Also, a 35-year-old man, Ndubisi Okoro in 2011 allegedly bathed his wife, Anthonia, with acid. He was arraigned before an Apapa Magistrate’s Court in Lagos, charged with attempted murder.

In November 10, 2012, a jilted man in Ikotun, an outskirt of Lagos, bathed his wife with acid. Men of Ikotun Police Division immediately arrested him. The list keeps rising everyday as acid bath has become a weapon of revenge.

I wonder the problem... in Nigeria...

100 people die everyday on crises
100 people die everyday on sicknesses
20 people die daily on accident
50 people die on heat attacks
and 100 people die everyday unnecessarily..

if these happens everyday.. then there's serious problem in this country.
Politics / W*A*R*N*I*N*G! "Abuse Dialogue Option And I Will Use All Forces Available To Cru by olufunkeoyedeji(f): 12:59pm On May 09, 2013
President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday reacted angrily on the mindless attacks by members of the Islamic terror group, Boko Haram in Bama Town, Borno state.
He deplored the terror attacks on the community and described it as Callous.

matoyeh.com learnt that according to Jonathan, the continuation of such callous attacks on innocent Nigerians, government facilities and security formations flies in the face of ongoing efforts to establish a workable framework for dialogue and the peaceful resolution of security challenges in northern Nigeria.

The President Goodluck Jonathan warned that the Federal Government’s consideration of dialogue as an option for the elimination of some threats to security should not be seen as a weakening of its resolve to use all the forces at its disposal to crush all brazen affronts to the powers and sovereignty of the Nigerian nation.

Jonathan extended condolences to the families and colleagues of the soldiers, policemen and prison officials who lost their lives in the dastardly attack.
Sports / Santos Star Neymar Rejects Amazing €100m Real Madrid Offer by olufunkeoyedeji(f): 12:46pm On May 09, 2013
Santos star Neymar has rejected a stunning offer from Real Madrid to remain committed to Barcelona.

Sport says Real president Florentino Perez was willing to invest €100 million in bringing Neymar to Madrid this summer. But the Brazilian has his heart set on joining Barca when he chooses to leave for Europe.

Florentino was willing to make Neymar only behind Cristiano Ronaldo as the highest earner at Real and pay DOUBLE the fee Barca had agreed with Santos. He also was willing to split Neymar's image rights 70:30 in the player's favour - again a far better deal than the 50:50 all Real players have with the club, including Ronaldo.

However, Neymar is committed to a Barca pre-contract agreed in 2011.

Bonapart: Those who call themselves men of God are now more concern about wordly things......dis is not what Christ thought us
I am telling you... they act like... using the church for business. They should help people more instead wasting monies to buy these things.

I believe poor men and women will be more in their churches... they wont care. look at T.B Joshua, i am not his member neither is fan... i cherish his humanitarian services.. he has the money to buy whatever he wants to buy, but he prefer to help people. God forgive me, even Pastor Adeboye i respected so much has joined the queue... anyway, GOD knows who serve him the more. we can not judge... no body knows maybe GOD is happy with them buying jets to move from one country to another for GOSPEL. No one can tell.

Even Reinhard Bonnke that used to travel virtually every week to different countries for evangelism does not buy jet (do we say he doesn't have the money? NO!!!) but he chooses to be among the poor.... so that he will know what their problems are.

May GOD be with us all.
