Education / The Teaching Job by olufunmi01(m): 7:49pm On Dec 06, 2021
Well, my people here's the gbege, I created a thread last month about a man that called me to come and assist him at the college of Health Yaba. I have traveled to Lagos twice for me to realize that he wants to use me. Let me go into details. He was lecturing and also doing part time teaching at one secondary at obalende. When he was sick he was advised to have maximum rest. So, he wants me to come and be teaching in that secondary School at obalende and he said he will be giving me 25k out of 30k they are paying him.......he made it look like he's doing me a favour like...I will be paying you from my pocket. Though I was given a room at onipaanu........but I can't do it.....I had to return to Ibadan thank God I have not left my factory Job. But please people help me I really need a better job

Total cost:

Battery : 85k
Solar panel : 30k
Inverter : 35k

Total: 150,000 naira.

I bought wires 2k

Making 152,000.

My observations so far
It takes 5 to 8 hours of sunshine to charge the battery from 0 to 100% depending on the sunlight intensity.

And guess what guys. When all the house load are on it, it lasted me up to 8 hours to use up a single charge. But when I put of the fridge, the 45watt fan and when my laptop isn't in use, it takes more than 12 hours and that's exactly what I needed.

Burning 8 to 12 hours on petrol daily will send me back to my village.

Thanks for coming to my Ted talk cheesy

While I'm not in support of your factory work because of the stress and low pay, you should ask your man in Lagos how much he will pay you and duration of your service; he should be able to tell you since he will be paying you directly. Btw, that arrangement is not a career path unless you start your Masters program and possibly your doctoral. However, the teaching experience will be an added advantage and doing part-time teaching will encourage you to follow your dreams.
Yes I'm currently preparing to write GRE next year for masters degree scholarship in USA

Let the person try again and prepare well, failure is a sign you are making effort. I was the dumbest in primary 3 but at the end of repeating the class I graduated from the University as one of the top 5 in my department.

Assistant lecturer any day, at least career growth is assured.
Yes this has always been my dream to lecture....but just scared of the uncertainty......I was teaching in Lagos before my fiance forced me to come over to Ibadan so we could settle down, but eventually left when things were not going well. Though still in the dilemma

Education / Assistant Lecturer In Lagos Or My 40k Salary In A Factory In Ibadan. by olufunmi01(m): 11:25am On Nov 26, 2021
Good day my people, I I'll be brief in the best way. I currently work in a factory here in Ibadan which hardly give me breathing space because, I work from Monday to Saturday between 8am to 7;30pm during morning duties. I also go through night duties in this factory, in which most of the time I get sick due to stress. I am being paid 40k a month as a university graduate because I have tried getting a decent job but none was coming because I hate asking from my uncles. Now, I received a call from one of my bosses where I did my industrial training in ikeja to come and help him lecturer in some departments in Lagos State college of Health and technology where he will be paying me directly. I have always had passion for academic, during my nysc, I lectured at osun State college of Health and technology. This man has been a good mentor to me who sees my potential for teaching because God has blessed me with ability to impart knowledge. Now my question is what should I do.
