Jokes Etc / Tales From Psychiatric Hospitals. by olufunmibi(m): 11:21am On Mar 21, 2012
A psychiatrist came into the male psychiatric ward for a morning ward round. He had it in mind to discharge some patients to create space for new admissions. His first patient for review was a 38 year old man who had been on admission for four weeks so he was eager to discharge this one. He asked him a simple question to test his insight and see whether he is fit for discharge. The psychiatrist: mr kolawole, I just wwant to know what you would do in case this ward catches fire and starts to burn.Mr Kolawole laughed and said: Maaaaaiiiii doctooooorrrrrr! If this house is on fire as a responsible citizen of this country I will run out. Infact very far away and observe, then when the fire becomes a big inferno, I will run back with all my energy and jump inside the fire. He was referred to another psychiatric hospital with better facilities!
Politics / Re: Arunma Oteh, SEC Boss, Says House Of Reps Members Demanded N44 Million Bribe by olufunmibi(m): 10:51am On Mar 16, 2012
ideylaff: when people start to stammer and use distracting lines like I'm bn witch hunted, this is like a kangaroo court, et al in front of less educated and uncouth members of a panel , you can tell Madam DG has something to hide

She has goofed with regards to transparency and is now using staff member incompetence under pretense to cover up her tracks. with all d reputable work experience she has, can she tell us that is how the behave there in African Development Bank..ehhn?. Yes she is qualified for the job no doubt, but on this note she has put her fingers in the cookie jar and caught out right. shame it's by the same useless NASS members who are guilty of the same crime as well.
Make she go siddon somewia jareh instead of quoting African Bank 10 Billion dollars funs, I managed , Harvard MBA and co. we dont want to hear all that.

Every little thing they ask her, I have not done that yet, I'm still trying to get the right staff after how many years. What does her job specification say in terms of delivery, does it say u have 5 years to deliver or it says you have to deliver. So by the time she finishes her tenure she will list them all as "Work in progress" yet she is collecting the benefits and props for the job
ABSOLUTE RUBBISH. This people have no regard for peoples money one bit.

Thats the problem with us we think once someone shows up from World Bank, ADB , Goldman Sachs , Harvard or Stanford Uni MBA or 1st degree they are above the law. No they are not

if the house of rep guys asked her for money is she not smart enough and effect payment, call EFFC and trace payment or at least record them /prove them by setting up a meeting
where is the email, where is the text, where is the recording of them asking for money

You do your home work if you know u want to nail someone trying to nail you as well, she just showed up at the panel with her yeye CV thinking that would bamboozle us all

Yes we know NASS members are the most corrupt of the lot

but this time around madan DG is just clutching straws and playing dirty over nothing cos she has bn caught out and her reputation is at stake simple
the above post by ideylaff is the most beautiful insightful and balanced piece I've read on this thread. Let everybody say "God bless Ideylaff"
Religion / Re: An Open Challenge To Atheists And Free-thinkers by olufunmibi(m): 9:53pm On Mar 11, 2012
Facts are in most cases the antithesis of faith. The judeo christian faith teaches us to believe. Logic is not a virtue as we've been taught. But our parents also sent us not to a seminary but to secular educational institutions where our minds have trained for critical thinking which consequently locate us in the society as conscious rational beings.so either way the bible has made its point and we have heard it. Science has also made its points and we have heard It. It is left for everyone to choose which side of the divide they one to belong. That is my take on the issue. Please don't say I'm too small. If I know better, I will post More.

There was a time top dignitaries from the united states came visiting IBB, supposedly for condolence visit. Obama also showed some solidarity support for

Jonathan in his early days in office, the U.K is there too , pulling their strings. Guys, where is ribadu in the international equation? and can somebody

enlighten me on who is favoured by the international community in the forthcoming election?

Career / Re: Medical Doctors' Forum: Let Us Know You! by olufunmibi(m): 11:46am On Apr 16, 2009
I understand the points a lot of guys have advanced on this thread. many have attempted to sound saintly, projecting the humanitarian dimension of the now "professed" noble profession of medicine , some were more candid enough to look at things from the vintage of the current economic realities. and some only wrote from the standpoint of entrenched traditional "beef" for medical doctors- "Father forgive them for they know not what they are doing".  the common denominator here is that an average nigerian doctor is not happy. if a man is not happy it affect his attitude, his habits ,his character and ultimately the altitude of his destiny. the cabals that call themselves "elders" in this profession-parading their grey hairs and overbearing personalities in the tertiary hospital wards, clinics ,theaters of  many reputable hospitals in the country, examining students with imperial terrors at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, have done nothing but disappointed the younger generation by failing to fight- like the Nigerian Bar Asssociation and other professional bodies- for what really matters. many of them are renowned professors but thier success is inconsequential without successors.Do you guys remember what Professor Akinkugbe of U.C.H. said about House Officers' Salary? Awon Agba Niyen O? may God save us from the noxious consequencies of the irresponsibilties of such a generation of leaders

Romance / Re: How The Loss Of A Beloved Affects Your Love Life: My Own Experience by olufunmibi(m): 12:57pm On Aug 21, 2008
very sad thread this one is! but it reminds us of the transient nature of our existence in the land of the living. my mother's burial outing ceremony is tommorrow friday 22nd august 2008. she died of sudden heart attack on "friday" 20th june 2008- two days to my birthday -after my dad and her finished watching the network news without any hint of any clinical problem talkless of an impending demise.she was said to have wore all her best clothes during her last one week alive.she changes into two ceremonial clothes per day.she insisted that my brother should delay his return to school till "friday" because she's "travelling" on "friday". she actually breathed her last in the hand of my younger brother that "friday".she never waited to eat the fruit of her labour for any appreciable time. i am a medical doctor and a serving corper in gombe state . she died in the wake of my working life. she never knew my girlfriend talkless of seeing my children. i lay down my own floral wreath at this cyber graveyard and i soberly inscribed this epitaph for the woman i've loved all my life Odunola atoke! tooto!iya alanu omo, oninututu, Orun re re o! Maa sun Olufe ti ao fi pade l'ookan aya Jesu. you live on in my heart and even in your death i love you. your dearest son, olufunmibi.

tngtech.your babe will never say what you have just said . she would say something like "honey , i appreciate your care particularly in monetary terms but it would have been great if you are here now! i'm longing for a hug from you." very few ladies will see naira and say it is nothing. money is just helping you buy time .that's if you really think she's worth the keeping
Romance / Re: Long Distance Relationships by olufunmibi(m): 10:01am On Jun 17, 2008
i'm currently involved in one.she's in sokoto and i'm serving in Gombe. she's a real thoroughbred- you know those type of girls- but money is also keeping it running. 10k, 15k deposits! That is if you have the means!-  please underscore that!  it puts some petrol on a quenching fire.   But that will not be worth it if you are just a player. you do that for women who are basically or essentially for keeps-wife material as people call them, the one you'll be comfortable to be the mother of your children smiley- don't become a father christmas o! angry :if she's worth going into life with ,the spendings may keep the relationship alive-women generally love money and that's very terrible undecided.but the investment may be worthwhile if her type is not in handy.that's just focusing the economic aspect of that endeavour.regarding the emotional aspect, well! adapt or opt out please!   Dont put yourself in a no-win situation. if you are maladjusted to that situation it may not be your type of game. do what comes most naturally to you.Good luck wink

why are you guys so disturbed about constituency allowances?that is obviously their own birthright! it is amala politics, it doesn't work out by the principle of common sense like you guys are imagining.moderation is grossly inappropriate in that game. you have to be daft,  animalistic, infact, you have to render your brain redundant and start thinking with your intestines and anus to play the game. and even, who are you? who is your father? your father is or was a dedicated and honest civil servant who has respect for a phenomenon called humanity and worked with the code of responsibility all his working life. if this describes you, you can never understand oyo state politics. you are not in a position to understand .God save us from this "pacesetting" woes!
Celebrities / Re: Sunny Okosuns Is Dead by olufunmibi(m): 3:52pm On May 27, 2008
you know you guys are really going to disappoint me if it turns out that the news is another fake rumour as people had always done about Sunny Okosuns in the past. he's one of the guys most rumoured dead in nigeria.Gani fawehinmi is back in the country and the fiery old lawyer declared on a personal note that he has lung cancer, that declaration took another human right dimension when the old guy frantically challenged yaradua to come to the press to tell nigerians what is wrong with him too, because it is the right of nigerians to know. if sunny okosun is truly dead it would have been one of those things! even you sef, when was the last time you checked your B.P, have you done your blood glucose level before? do you know kidney status, do you even know your blood group? omo, all of us are just a junk of praying mantis- hoping no evil will happen to us.nobody wan die but we wan go heaven. okada is another thing that is killing people faster than AIDS.so!prepare one day, o son of nigeria! to meet your creator!
