Nairaland / General / In October First by Olukayodetope(m): 7:49am On Oct 01, 2020
****IN OCTOBER FIRST****

60 years ago the distruction of a nation was mounted by wolves who came in sheep clothings, 60 years ago our forefathers traded the lives of generations yet unborn for merger that was never intended to merge us but to mesh us to our graves. For 60 years we have laboured in vein for the pains we passed through to gain independence is slain.

On a day like this we share photographs on social media platforms signifying how "united" we've been without being sincere about how badly things have been over the years. Why are we so blind to see that one day this nation will sell fuel for 500 naira per litre? Why are we so blind to see that one day our children willl be slaves again in their father land with no freedom of speech? Why are we so blind to see that one day the only source of electricity we would show our children is generator light? Why are we so blind to see that even the local rice we eat now, won't be affordable again? Why are we so blind to see that our currency no longer has value compared to dollar.? Ah! When would the youth of my country see beyond pictures and start agitating for positive change in our nation. When will the youths of my country cry out to Big Brother Nija (BBnija) to use the billions meant for a three months stay at home context for building companies that would better the lives of many? When will the youths of my country realise that it is now a crime to use big phones in our country without being called a yahoo boy? When will the youths of my country realise that churches will soon be headed by the government? When will the youths of my country realise that the recent kidnappings are solely masterminded by top ranking police and military officers?

Oh! How I wish we know what the word "CELEBRSTION" means. If patriotism means hypocracy then I choose to stand out. We were better off during the British rule than being a dependent-independent nation.

On a day like this, I choose to remember the departed souls of all those who lost their lives, homes, farmlands, businesses, loved once, parents, children, properties and lot more. And for those of us also who have lost the right to speak freely.

Most of us stayed awake till 12:00 midnight just to be among the list of those who will first post " happy 60th anniversary Nigeria" with our green white green pictures tagged to the caption, just for formalities but can't spare 30minute at midnight to pray against bad leadership.

Oh! How I wish we could go on black just to mourn this nation and cry out to God for a rebirth.

60 years ago, the birth of a dying nation began.

Happy dependent-independence my fellow Nigerians.

Nairaland / General / I Wish I Have A Voice by Olukayodetope(m): 7:30pm On Aug 22, 2020
SPOKEN WORDS

***I WISH I HAVE A VOICE***

Let me get something straight, just because I haven't spoken doesn't mean I am not hurt.
I have endured the pains and anguish you have bathed me with, thinking your intellect at a point in time would trigger some electrons in you to be redirected towards how badly you have treated me.

I taught I had known it all when I read how the white man savaged my fathers, mothers and African brothers and sisters round the African continent on the verge of colonization. But in my solitude, i wander. How would I have known that my own fathers will gang up against me and kill me over and over again? How would I have known that my mothers who are supposed to be the gate way between the divine world and the this cruel world, no longer value the lives it took them months to nurture and years to nurse? How would I have known that my own brother doesn't see me as himself, but as a prey? How would I have known that my own sister is always ready to hand me inn to scavengers to be scourged?

I've listened to sermons preached on the alter of deceit, read news papers on the same street that soaked the blood of my loved once, heard speeches from grey bearded monsters (chuckles) guess what I even saw their comic skits flooded on social media platforms; animals swallowing funds, finance buildings catching fire over night, people fainting as a result of interrogations, bandits celebrated and compensated in all 37 states with a grazing field while farmers strive to have access to lands they could till for daily bread but are denied.

I grew up memorising;
'Arise o compatriots, Nigeria's call obey and I wonder who calls and who obeys when the voices of the masses are not heard. Maybe we need to turn on the "MICRO PHONE" before our voices are heard.

"To serve our father land with love, strength and faith". Love? You can't give what you don't have. But of course the powerful always use their strength against the voiceless. Faith! Wow... I have seen videos of elders, teens and children murdered in cold blood because of the faith they profess.

"The labour of our heroes past, shall never be in vain'. I so wish the labour of late Ahmadu Bello, Nnamdi Azikiwe, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, Obafemi Awolowo, of blessed memory, aren't going in vain.

"To serve with heart and might" . a dead conscience can't serve.

"One nation bound in freedom, peace and unity" ? That was when there was a country, not the country I live in today.

Why pledge when you can't keep your allegiance?
Why promise to be faithful, loyal and honest when you can't be sincere enough to value lives and properties?
Why speak of strength when it is used to conceal evil?
Why pretend to defend her unity and uphold her honor and glory when you are a cohort of all that is enticing to evil?

Why seek for God's help when you have a hardened heart?

I am crying out with a load voice on behalf of my people, we don't need the share of the national cake all we need is right to life, free access to our mud houses to sleep at night and farms to fend for ourselves during the day. I speak not only for the people of Kaduna but for Nigeria at large.

My name is Shedrack.
I am from Kaduna, Nigeria.

If you can't amplify me, then I don't have a voice.

Nairaland / General / Greatness Is Not A Miracle. by Olukayodetope(m): 11:17am On Dec 05, 2019
Greatness is not a miracle...

There is nothing like: "I didn't know when I became great... "

There is No man that has ever touched something phenomenal that wished it into reality...

There is a price to pay...

I beg you in the Name of Jesus, stop celebrating cheap online rhetorics and fireless rhemas...

Go and ask God to show you the price to pay for the OIL you want to manifest...

When He called Jesus, He showed Him The price to pay for the glory He is enjoying today and He paid for it...

When He called Paul He showed him what to pay and he paid for it...

You can't attend Joshua Selmans conference, come back from Lawrence Oyors programs and expect to handle deep things of God...

What you do after The conferences determines how serious God takes us on this journey...

When you come back from conference, ask God for the PRICE to pay to process The great visions He showed you...

Some of your mates are in villages where there is no network now, preaching Jesus to those that hates Him... Even in The face of martyrdom...

They don't even have a phone, talk of having data to do facebook...

People are mocking them... They more you mock them that they have nothing to show, the more they are going into more interior villages...

Because they know that they are paying for SOMETHING ... And in there fullness of time, heaven will announce them to this generation...

Don't make the mistake I made when I joined them to mock guys who were somewhere paying for SOMETHING eternal...

Because today, to our shame, TIME has made us all liars...

Please, sister, anywhere you see someone who is running from what you are running for, tell that person to lay hands and pray for you... You guys are not mates in their school of glory...

There is a spirit in that man that will help your life...

Honour has a cost...
Glory is not cheap...
Nobody stumbles into Kingdom relevance...
There is something to pay, sir...

Don't let online patronage lie to you...

There are men that will preach The same thing you are preaching and it will produce more results than yours...

There are people that sing The same song you sang and theirs will produce miracles and encounters...

Even if they replaced you in choir, please, don't fight them...because they have paid price for that honour they are enjoying...

It's not by good voice, sir ...
It's not by good preaching...

Saul wore a crown he did not pay for and he paid dearly for it...

David wore the same crown and made more mistakes than Saul, but the throne did not vomit him...

Because he has paid for that seat...

Let me beg you:..Please, don't sit on any throne if you have not sat on thorns...

Don't wear any crown when you have not been mocked by the crowd...

What have you lost for the Master?...
Where have they mocked you for God's sake?

If I were you, I will stop doing fine boy and go and beg God to send me an errand that will bring shame...

I know some guys who are somewhere now, crying, begging God to give them assignments that will make this generation to mock them for His sake...

And I know that later, I don't know how soon.. But that army will not struggle for this generation to follow them to their God...

Sister, go back to God...

Whatever you are telling us here will make more impact if you add PRICE to it...

It is only when God sees the TRAVAIL of your soul that He will satisfied...

Not when He sees your number of likes and comments on social media ...

Not even when He sees how many people that fell under The power of God in your last ministrations..

There is a PRICE you will pay and you will never bother who is staying in your church or who is leaving...

Instead of using threats to keep people with you, go and pay price... When God must have seen the travail of your soul, He would have been satisfied...

And then, the little you do for God in that church will be backed by unusual power... And you will be too busy to notice who is coming or who is going...

I am talking to just that person that have a lot of mighty prophecies on his head and time is going, yet, none of the prophecies are manifesting...

Let's go and ask God for a PRICE to pay...

I am very sure that He will show up...

In the place of weakness, I pray, may there be
strength... In Jesus Name...

Let us pray

Nairaland / General / How To Be Safe From Kidnapping As The Trend Is On Rise. by Olukayodetope(m): 10:10pm On Apr 15, 2019
How to be safe from kidnapping as the trend is on the rise.

1. Never use car stickers that says where you work, especially if you have a prestigious job.

2. Never share pictures of your kids in their school uniforms or badges. Protect your kids!

3. When you attend parties, don't let the band get you so high that you start spraying money like no man's business, use an envelope.

4. Don't be the one that tries to empty the ATM machine by making large withdrawals ...You don't need 50k in your wallet to feel like a man.

5. Always delete your bank transaction notifications, especially SMS...you really can memorize your bank balance....Shred ur POS/ATM receipts.

6. Don't go jogging while it's dark, you really should be smarter than that. If you can, get someone trusted as company.

7. Always lock your doors, even if you're only going out to switch off your generator.

8. NEVER EVER, NEVER EVER WEAR YOUR ID outside your work place. No one needs to know you work with FIRST BANK, don't be stupid.

9. Be accountable to your spouse or parents, let someone know where you are at every point, don't branch to Oworo when u should be in Ikeja.

10. As much as you can avoid it, don't send kids on errand outside your house, they are soft targets.

11. Don't try to form richest dude in the neighborhood by making large donations in your estate meetings, learn modesty.

12. When you give, give with modesty and privately, learn to say "I can't spare that amount now". Stop doing Baba Olowo for the boys dem.

13. Don't stay late in your office long after closing hours. That deadline work can be done at home.

14. Make safety the number one factor in your decision always!
God will keep and protect you as you also apply discretion.

15. Mind what you post about yourself on social network.copied

Politics / Senate Spokesman Sen. Aliyu Abdullahi, Disgraced In His Constituency by Olukayodetope(m): 6:56pm On Nov 04, 2017
SENATE SPOKES MAN, SEN. ALIYU ABDULLAHI SABI DISGRACED IN HIS CONSTITUENCY.

Friday, 3rd November, 2017 will remain one of the sadest day for the Senate spokesman, Dr. Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi as he was assaulted and stoned in Kontagora, head quarter of Niger North Senatorial District where he represents. The senator who was elected under the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a result of the popularity of President Muhammadu Buhari and the support gathered for him by the late Emir of Borgu, Sen. Dr. Haliru Dantoro received a serious insults, disgrace and stonning by the Executives of the party in Kontagora.
The senator called the Executive for a meeting which was held in the town hall in Kontagora which was the first time he was having such a meeting since after his election in 2015. When the senator was asked why he was coming to meet with them now when it was only a year away to 2019 General Election, he could not give any satisfactory answer. He was further asked to list the projects if any that he did/attracted to Kontagora or if he gave any financial support for students of his constituency .
In his response, he stated that the Buhari Government has not given them any money nor funded their constituency projects. His response did not go down well with the executives. It was at this point they became more provoked and asked if it was his father that gave other elected members in the National Assembly money who have been executing projects and empowering their youths, giving example with Hon. Idris Abdullahi Garba and others.
The Executives also accused the senator of collaborating with the senate president, Bukola Saraki and other senators to frustrate the good programmes of President Muhammadu Buhari. They told him to his face that his God father Sen. Bukola cannot safe him come 2019. They asked him where he got money to buy a Twins Duplex located on Kainji Crescent in Maitama, Abuja worth over Six Hundred & Fifty Million Naira. They further alleged that they are aware of houses he built/ bought in Ilorin, Kwara State. When the attack and threat of assault was too much the senator became jittery and was crying openly before the crowd.
As if the senator knew what will befall him, he invited the security comprising the Mobile Police & Men of the Civil Defence. The presence of the security did not detered the executives from assaulting the senator. Infact, he was chased out of the hall surrounded by d heavy security. He was whisked away in a Peugeat 406 car which was smashed. The Civil Defence Pickup Van was equally smashed.
As he was drove out of the premises, the cars that accompanied him were also stoned. Some of the executives followed him to Jamal Hotel where he lodged but could get at him. That was exactly what happened to the senate spokesman, Sen. Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi today, Friday, 3rd November, 2019 in his constituency, Kontagora.
Other Local Governments in his Constituency said they are waiting for him to visit them too. It could be recalled that early this year, the senator faced a siminar attack in a town called Babanna, Borgu Local Government and Rofia in Agwara Local Government respectively.. It could also be recall that few months ago some electorates from his constituency who were not satisfied with his representation and perpetual opposition to the ideals of President Muhammadu Buhari coupled with his arrogance and know all syndrone, commenced his RECALL process. The process is still ongoing. Its hope that this development will serve as lessons to other elected members.
Nairaland / General / A Girl Funny List To Dump A Guy by Olukayodetope(m): 10:29pm On Jun 03, 2017
If you visit his house and see dirty pots and plates in the kitchen, dirty
cloths, unmade bed and dirty toilet & bathroom, dump him
immediately.
He has zero husband material.
If he doesn't go out of his way to keep the house sparkling clean and
prepare special meals for you when you visit him, my dear dump his
ass.
If he makes nasty comments about menses and feels irritated to be
around you when you are menstruating, run far away from him.
If he tries to force or cajole you into having sex with him, dump his
ass.
Whatch the way he treats the people below him and the women in his
life, like his sisters, female colleagues, poor relatives or people
working under him.
If he treats them like trash, baby discard him in the bin and flee.
Is he a reckless driver?
Or the type that swears and insults other road users while driving?
Dump him.
Does he spend recklessly or does stupid things just to please world
people and appear richer than he is?
Baby dump him.
If he feels he is superior to you because he is male, dump him.
If he tries to discourage you from improving on yourself before
marriage, dump him.
If he feels insecure or intimidated by your intelligence or success,
dump his sorry ass.
If he likes to compare you with other women to put you down at the
slightest opportunity, dump him.

If he is hot tempered, emotionally manipulative and violent, dump him
immediately.
If he disrespects and cheats on you, dump him.

If he tells lies at the drop of a hat, dump him.

If he is stingy, selfish, insensitive and greedy, dump his ass.

If he tries to make you cut-off your friends or relatives, dump him.
If he is so insecure that you have to always prove your love and fidelity
to him, dump him.

If he brings in 3rd parties into your relationship, it will get worse in
marriage, dump him.

If he keeps malice, keeps late nights and not domesticated, dump him.

If something about him scares you, dump him baby.
A woman's intuition is hardly ever wrong.
If he is "my mummy said" kind of boy-man, dump him.

If he deliberately picks fights at the eve of your birthdays, valentines
day or any special days, dump him.

If he bosses and polices you around, dump him.

If he doesn't listen to your opinions while dating, it will be worse in
marriage, dump his ass.
He is a destiny killer!Don't make the mistake of marrying a bad and insensitive man hoping
you or marriage will change him.
Marriage doesn't change people.
You can't change people, people change only when they decide to.
Badly behaved people get worse in marriage.
Do not make a bad decision out of desperation to be a Mrs.
Most abusive people show signs during courtship but many lovestruck
women fail to read the handwritings on the wall.
The key to having your happy married life lies in your hands, make a
wise decision, make the right choice for you.
Don't be blinded by lust, beauty, money and desperation.
Don't bow to pressure, take your time if you so wish.
Have a lovely weekend

Please, kindly resist the urge to ask me about girlfriends to dump.

On this forum, I think I once said buhari should find one way or another to keep his wife and that zarah out of the spotlight. If my wife was a little bit like Mrs buhari, she probably will be a housewife for life{no going out}. The woman loves spotlight more than anything, very pompous and so full of herself.

I have come in contact with the woman once and the woman was oozing of pompousness all over the place. Like is she a member of the APC or what's her goddamn business with her husband's appointments? If she thinks Abba kyari is too influential, was her silliness the right way to deliver her message? The same nonsense is what she transferred to her daughter{zarah}. I just hope after this unfortunate silliness of Aisha, buhari will put a stop to her foolishness.

I have always known the woman to be silly, but with the BBC interview she did, I think she is probably more than silly
No gain in stupidity bro.....
