Are Nigerians living a higher quality of life now than before because they have access to better, good paying jobs, better healthcare, better education and infrastructure, power or electricity that has removed the need to invest in diesel generators? What is your perception of corruption in the country? Do you feel opportunity is being expanded for all or most of the opportunities in the land is limited to a privilege few who are in government?

percipi1: The Lagos State Govt erred in law for refusing to accede to your request in as much as the request was validly made and covered under the FOL Act.
It is now settled in law that the FOI Act does not require its domestication by any state before it takes effect in each state of the federation. The Oyo state High Court has ruled that the National Assembly has enacted the FoI Act to be operational throughout the country in the interest of the common good and national interest.
Relying on the Supreme Court decision in the case of Attorney General of Ondo State versus Attorney General of the Federation and others (2002)NWLR (Part 772) Page 222; The Court maintained that domestication of laws belongs to the realm of international law only.
The implication of the judgment is that states across the country do not need to domesticate the FoI Act in their respective states before it becomes operational and for those that have domesticated the law in their respective states; the federal FoI Act is still superior to theirs.
I will advise you to please bring an action against the Lagos state government to enforce your right under the FOI Act
