ifyalways: I don't know what's going on in some peoples head but please, odumchi was NOT selected or handpicked by any "cabal" and that includes the incumbent eze.
odumchi's nomination was well earned as a result of his cool, matured stance and his deep knowledge of ala/ndi Igbo. He's not a noise maker and won't be found engaging in meaningless debates aimed at showing off(self adulation/vain glory), he's a bridge builder. A simple, down to earth young man who believes in "live and let live". He's got a lowly spirit too and does not see himself as "all knowing"(my way or no way) hence you see him seeking peoples opinion, asking questions. Odumchi is not a stranger to igbo culture and his knowledge of igbo land is not limited to one state or region.
A vote for odumchi is a vote for peace, unity and democracy.

Some things:
1. I nominate Odumchi.
2. I believe Okija has the right to contest. No fellow human being can deem another's past behaviors as unforgivable on behalf of an entire group. I don't feel that way and I'm sure others don't as well.

Some conditions must be met, however:
A. Apologize to those you have offended
B. Make peace with those who were offended by his remarks. (whether they accept his offering or not is another issue)
C. Unlike others, he should be required to state his good intentions for brothers and sisters of Igboland.

I did not see Okija's past remarks so I can't hold them against him. If they true, however, then how unfortunate, but I do believe in people changing. I don't appreciate people holding on to old incidents and trying to make them current issues again. PointB did the same to me just last week or so. We're all adult men and women. It would be nice if we can act as such and construct rational solutions to whichever issues are plaguing us. If what he did is so unforgivable, then surely no one will vote for him, or at least he won't get the majority. Right?
