THE Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, last weekend, described the Federal Government as a body that can not be trusted and also describe it as a body that lacked integrity.

The union also described the government as slave merchant, which only listened to and implement destructive policy recommendations of the International Monetary Fund, IMF, and World Bank against the larger interest of Nigerians.

The Registrar of the Joint Admission and matriculation Board , Prof. Is-haq Oloyede last weekend said the adoption of the IPPIS, Integrated Personnel Payroll Information System , as the payment platform for university was unstable for the university system.

EducationASUU Dodging Negotiation – FG by Oluwatech(op): 2:53pm On Feb 17, 2022
He also said , “there are issues to be addressed but unfortunately, ASUU have gone on strike and he is looking forward to them because all the issues are being addressed, the committee looked at Federal Government demands and there are renegotiations going on. They submitted a draft agreement a committee is looking at and immediately it finishes , government is meant to announce what it has accepted. Suddenly, I heard that the union are going on strike. He also said “they want a peaceful resolution”.

The Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu said the reason he said he was surprised that ASUU had gone on strike was that the Federal Government is ready to meet them on all issues they have raised , so I think the fault is not government . He said the solution to this is negotiations.

He said he wouldn’t know whether the Government can reach an agreement before the end of the 30-days warning strike with ASUU. Since, he’s not the only one, he can’t reach an agreement with ASUU but he is certain they will reach an agreement soon.

EducationI’m Surprised ASUU Has Gone On Strike – Malam Adamu, Education Minister by Oluwatech(op): 7:58pm On Feb 16, 2022
The Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu, has said that he is surprised by the decision of the Academic Staff Union of Universities to embark on a one-month strike.

He said this on Wednesday while fielding questions from State House reporters after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided over by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The minister, who cleared the government of any fault over failure to reach a truce after several negotiations between ASUU and the Federal Government, said the decision of the university lecturers came abruptly amidst ongoing meetings.

According to him, “ASUU, unfortunately, they have gone on strike and I am looking for them because all the issues are being addressed. The last thing that happened was that our committee looked at their demands but there are renegotiations going on. They submitted a draft agreement which the ministry is looking at.”

Adamu, while speaking on ASUU’s draft agreement, said, “A committee is looking at it. Immediately it finishes, the government is meant to announce what it had accepted. Then suddenly, I heard them going on strike.”

The minister, while commenting on allegations from ASUU about his absence from meetings, said “ASUU will never say that. I always call the meeting myself. The meetings I didn’t attend were those that happened when I was in hospital in Germany.

“We want a peaceful resolution. The federal government is ready to meet them on all issues they have raised and if there are so many meetings and the gap is not closing, then I think it’s not the fault of the government.

“There is a solution to this. The negotiations are the solution and that is why I have said that I am surprised that ASUU has gone on strike.”

Asked if the government can reach an agreement with ASUU before the end of the 30-day strike, he said, “I can’t give you time. I am ready to reach an agreement with ASUU now but since I’m not the only one, I can’t give you time but certainly, we are going to reach an agreement very soon.”

Adamu, while speaking on the clear-cut disparity in cut-off marks for common entrance examinations across various parts of the country, said the low cut-off marks in the North were meant to comply with the requirements of the Federal Character Commission.

“I have nothing to say on that. I am not aware of any difference unless it is meant to satisfy the requirements of Federal character. I think the federal character is required for the nation and it is accepted. There is nothing we can do about that. There would come a time when it would not be necessary.”

EducationASUU To Embark On One Month Warning Strike by Oluwatech(op): 11:12am On Feb 14, 2022
After serious deliberations that dragged into the early hours of Monday, the National Executive Council, NEC, of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has voted to embark on one-month warning strike to press home its demands from the government.

An inside man which is a good source present at the meeting held in Lagos let us know that the strike is to allow the Federal Government do the needful. Failure for federal government to do that will lead the union to go on an indefinite strike.

“We just want to give the government a long rope hoping that it would see the need to avoid a total paralysis of academic activities in the nation’s universities. We are parents too and have our children in the system but we cannot watch and allow the total collapse of education in the country.

Education5 Tips To Prepare For A Successful Exam by Oluwatech(op): 6:14pm On Jan 25, 2022
Hey! Worry no more because here in this article, I’ve prepared 5 Tips to Prepare for a Successful Exam in your upcoming examination. I know of many cases where students will tell you they had 6hrs to 8hrs to prepare for a particular course and yet, still fail woefully. This Is not because, they are poor academically, but maybe because they don’t know when to and when not to study.

There are always various activities that can be done separately to be academically good.

Follow the 5 Tips to Prepare for a Successful Exam below to serve as a practical reference. :

Make yourself a good and well organized study space :

When you have a well organized space, study will be kind of interesting to you. When you enter into a school library, everything there are organized, the space for studying, space for books, space for e-library all are well organized. Make sure you have enough space on your desk to spread your textbooks and notes. Imagining you are study and you need to check for an information in your textbook and it’s not on your desk, you searching for it drops your urge for reading. You will be totally of track, you won’t know exactly where you were before searching for the textbook. Ensuring that the room is sufficiently bright and your chair restful enough are also points to consider. Pay attention to details that can distract you and remove them from your study space. Make sure that you feel comfortable in your study space and that you are able to focus. For some individuals, this may mean complete silence, while for others listening to music helps. Some of us need complete order to focus, while others like to study in a more cluttered environment. Make sure your study space is friendly and
pleasant so that you can fully concentrate.

The price of Dogecoin skyrocketed following Musk’s tweet, as its value rose nearly 30% to $0.70 just minutes after Musk’s proclamation.

It’s unclear if Musk was serious about sending Dogecoin to the moon, but the company could potentially make that happen, given its lunar exploration plans.

Initially dogecoin started as a joke in 2013, dogecoin is now the sixth-largest digital coin of all with a total market value of almost $42 billion, according to CoinGecko. It takes its name and branding from the “Doge” meme, which depicts a Shiba Inu dog alongside nonsensical phrases in multicolored text. The billionaire Tesla CEO once called dogecoin his “favorite coin” cryptocurrency and “the people’s crypto.” Musk is also a supporter of bitcoin, with his electric car company having amassed nearly $2.5 billion worth of the cryptocurrency.
